“I don’t know what happened to Kevin Harvick. It was unfortunate for him. He was the class of the field. We were tuning on it to try to keep even with him. When I saw him go out, I knew we could compete with the No.2 (Brad Keselowski) car. The No. 2 was really good on short runs, but we could run him down. Of course he made us work for it there at the end because he was so good on short runs and he got to me. I was really, really tight in traffic there at the end. I didn’t know if we were going to pull it off. I’m so, proud to have this orange Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet. This is Hunger Action month and it’s extremely important to all of us who are fighting for the older Americans going hungry every day in this country. This is a great way to take action. I don’t know what I’ve found, but I think a lot of it has to do with Alan Gustafson and all the guys on this No. 24 team. They’ve just giving me such an awesome race car team this year. ST LOUIS – The 16-time NHRA Mello Yello champion is in championship mode, as he will go into tomorrow’s final eliminations from the No.1 spot during the third stop of the 2014 NHRA Countdown to the Championship. The AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals will mark the 6th time this season John Force will be racing from the pole position and the 152nd time he’s been the number one qualifier during his iconic racing career. It was during yesterday’s second qualifying session that the 8,000-horsepower Castrol GTX High Mileage Mustang laid down an awesome 4.022 second run and blistered the top end with a speed of 319.52 mph. Ty Dillon qualified third for the Dover 200 at Dover International Speedway and was the highest qualifying Richard Childress Racing entry. Teammates Brian Scott, Cale Conley and Brendan Gaughan qualified seventh, ninth and 12th respectively.
RCR teammates Brian Scott, Ty Dillon, Cale Conley and Brendan Gaughan finished seventh, 10th, 11th and 28th.
Ty Dillon currently leads the RCR drivers in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings in third, Brian Scott, fourth and Brendan Gaughan eighth.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Sept. 26, 2014 – The cushion and lapped traffic midway through Friday night’s Indy Race Parts presents the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at Bloomington Speedway provided Donny Schatz the opportunity he needed to score his 23rd win of the season and fourth straight in Indiana.

It was 19-year-old Christopher Bell who provided Schatz with his fiercest competition. Bell, who has one World of Outlaws win this season despite having just a handful of starts with the series, took over the lead from Jac Haudenschild early on in the feature and built on it as Schatz advanced forward. ST LOUIS – The third stop of the 2014 Countdown to the Championship got underway today at the 3rd annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals, and John Force’s 8,000 horsepower Castrol GTX High Mileage Mustang shook the earth under Gateway Motorsports Park. By the end of today’s two qualifying sessions, the 16-time NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car champ cruised to the provisional number one spot with a ground pounding 4.022 second run at 319.52. Force also picked up three NHRA Mello Yello Bonus Points for his stellar qualifying effort.
“We always know we can run better at night, you know what I’m saying, and it pushed us into the evening and the fans coming from work had a chance to see a great show, but when conditions cool down, we run good. It’s the Countdown and every point helps. Just last week I threw away 20 points running off that Charlotte race in Texas. You can’t make mistakes, so every round counts and there are only three races after this and championships are won or lost and things I did like my red-light in Texas against Hagan. I changed my routine, I screwed up and I got so mental racing him. My car was running good, I was on my game but I still screwed up. So, I’m going to get back to where I belong, get my head right and focus and just race the car next to me,” said John Force. “Thank you. It is exciting. These guys do an awesome job in preparing the race cars. The first time here this year we struggled here after we unloaded a little bit, but they had it good by Saturday. We unloaded really good this time and it has carried through the weekend. So just really happy for everybody on our Budweiser Chevrolet. I have never really qualified that well really anywhere, but here, I guess that is going to be a good deal to have the first pit stall. Here, especially under yellow you just don’t have to go very far when you are leaving the pit box. The good pit stalls are typically on that end of pit road, and if you wind up having to get out of your pits, and guys are still coming in as you are in the front of the pack, it is hard to get out of your stall. Mooresville, N.C., September 24, 2014 – Greg Anderson isn’t one to dwell on the past, but as the 74-time national event winner returns to the St. Louis area this weekend for the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals, he is buoyed by the memory of strong past performances. The driver of the white Summit Racing Pro Stock Chevrolet Camaro won the event in 2004 in what was truly a remarkable season that included 15 wins in 19 final rounds. In addition to the St. Louis win, Anderson is a multi-time finalist there and has a collection of low qualifier awards earned at the drag strip in the shadow of The Arch.
