WERE YOU EVER CONCERNED THAT YOU WERE GOING TO GET THIS CAR BACK OUT FRONT?
“I thought we were in big trouble once we restarted. The No. 4 (Kevin Harvick) went up through there and got to the lead. I just couldn’t go anywhere. I got so tight. We weren’t sure if it was a bad set of tires. We felt like we had a set that didn’t match up with us earlier in the race. So, we made no adjustments. We went out the next restart and the car was a little better, but made an adjustment. Then that last pit stop we made the right adjustment. I caught the No. 4 (Harvick) racing with the No. 1 (Jamie McMurray). I was able to get by both of those guys and check out. It was an exciting race. I hope the fans really enjoyed that one.”

TALK ABOUT RACING WITH THE NO. 4 AND NO. 88:
“Yeah, the No. 88 (Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) was making the bottom work, so I was trying to make that happen. The No. 4 (Harvick) all of a sudden was in second and coming hard on the top. So, I moved up top to try and make that work and I looked in the mirror off to (Turn) 2 and I saw the No. 4 in the wall. I figured that was the end of him and then he and the No. 88 (Earnhardt, Jr.) raced each other so hard at the end. Just good fun. I think that the No. 88, the No. 4 all of us that were involved in that there at the end just had a blast. That is how racing should be and I’m so happy the fans got to see that.”

AVONDALE, LOUISIANA (April 11, 2015) – Team Chevy’s Juan Pablo Montoya will lead the field to the green flag for the Verizon IndyCar Series inaugural race at NOLA Motorsports Park. Severe lightning storms delayed the start of and eventually canceled qualifying for the INDY Grand Prix of Louisiana that resulted in the Series setting the starting field by entrant points after the St. Petersburg race.

KURT BUSCH PUTS CHEVROLET SS ON POLE IN TEXAS
Chevrolet SS sweeps the front row for the Duck Commander 500

FT. WORTH, TX – (April 10, 2015) – Kurt Busch placed his No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS on the pole position for Saturday night’s Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), the seventh race of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. A fast lap of 27.857 seconds (193.847 mph) earned Busch his second pole of 2015 and 18th of his career. WAS THIS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU, TONY GIBSON AND YOUR GUYS KEPT UP WITH THE TRACK? “Everything is so tight in qualifying. I wanted to run the same time each time out. With the track continuing to change, with the sun and the shade, then the track rubber built up, air pressures are changing and tires are dropping off… everybody chipped in. The guys at the track, the guys at the shop, the tire guy, the engine guy, everyone chipped in. That’s what this is all about – getting that little extra. We did that with our Haas Automation Chevrolet today. Thanks to Gene (Haas). The second pole of the year feels good. I am surprised…it felt like the track was really green. That really surprised me to be honest. If you think about it, we came here once with aero kit. Our first day ever with the aero kit was here. We had no real idea of what we needed to do or anything. Right now it is hard because the track is really slow as well. Every time we come here, it seems to be that way. I thought it would be a little better even being a green race track, and even the heat on it because people ran yesterday, we thought the track would be a little better. We were miles off. We are getting there, but it is a couple of seconds off, but it is going to keep getting quicker.”

“They had a production meeting this morning. I got a chance to sit in on that, but other than that just being around the sport as many years as I have. I guess being a couch commentator that is about the only preparation that I have done. It’s going to be a unique experience. I look forward to it. STEFANO COLETTI, NO. 4 VARIABLE BORE RAMS – KVRT CHEVROLET
YOU’RE NEW TO THE VERIZON INDYCAR SERIES BUT YOU’RE ALREADY LANDING NEW SPONSORS. HOW EXCITING IS THIS?
“I’m very excited to have Variable Bore Rams on the car. They are from Louisana, and the team is helping me a lot this year with sponsors. I met Chip (Marshall Jr.) a few months ago when he came here to drive IndyCars. We got along pretty well and I’m happy that he’s on board for this race.”

YOU HAVEN’T BEEN OUT ON THE TRACK YET THIS WEEK BUT YOU HAVE TESTED. WHAT ARE YOU IMPRESSIONS?
“All the changes they made to the track are great. They put a lot of gravel beds around and moved some tire barriers around to make it a lot safer. I like the track. The first time I came here, I thought the track was a lot of fun to drive. It’s going to be better this way. There are still some improvements to do, but they’ve come a long way. We have to thank the people from the track for making all these efforts.”

HOW MANY PLACES ARE THERE TO PASS?
“To be honest, Turn 1 will be one of the biggest ones because you’re coming down the straight pretty fast and you have a pretty big braking point. Plus with the timing line they put on the outside of Turn 1 and avoiding us going wide, that will make the corner even slower so that’s where we’ll be able to pass a lot. I think the braking after the backstraight as well will be another one, and maybe between Turn 3 and Turn 4.”

CAN YOU TALK ABOUT THE STRONG START TO THE SEASON AND HOW STRONG BOTH CARS RAN AT ST. PETERSBURG?
“Obviously there is still a development base of knowledge we need to get with the new aero kits. We’re not there yet. However, I will say that Sebastien (Bourdais) has really come to grips with it. Stefano’s attitude is that ‘I have a right foot and that’s all I’m going to use!’ So we need to change that a little bit, particularly when he comes into the pits! No, we’re excited about Stefano. He has a great personality and fits in well with the team and leads his team extremely well. He’ll show a progressive development in driving an IndyCar over the course of the next few races, starting here I hope.”

“I got to have some fun yesterday with Coby (Henslee) a part of the Axe White Label Collective it is a mentorship program. I got to go over there and drive a legends car for the first time. I think I was supposed to give tips, but that was my first time in the car so he was giving me all the tips. I had a lot of fun and it is cool to get to hang out with him this week. And get to try and give any advice I can.
