Kasey Kahne Racing – Results Recap

West Coast swing underway

A quick recap this week, the teams are still in California and only had a two-night show at Thunderbowl Speedway in Tulare, CA last Friday and Saturday.

Night one kicked off with Brad Sweet setting fast time while setting a new track record. The feature was a wild one however, and both Kasey Kahne Racing teams were running in the top five when both the No. 9 and No. 49 were caught up in two separate incidences.

The teams worked hard the next morning to get the cars repaired and ready for night two, where both teams bounced back with Brad finishing third and Daryn eighth.

MARCH 16, 2015

BIRMINGHAM – Team Chevy driver quotes following the first day of preseason testing of the new Chevrolet Aero Kit at Barber Motorsports Park.

AN INTERVIEW WITH SCOTT DIXON, NO. 9 TARGET CHIP GANASSI RACING CHEVROLET, FASTEST IN COMBINED SESSIONS WITH LAP OF 1:07:4805/122.702 m.p.h.: “It’s great to be back in the Target car. We tested NOLA Saturday, we’re here this weekend at Barber and then go back to NOLA next week for the final pre-season test heading into St. Petersburg. We had a decent start to the day today finishing second overall in the first session. The cars have more downforce now and are a lot more demanding to drive. Some of the corners here in the old cars were almost flat, and now they’re flat out when you go through them. If this is any indication of the speeds, I think you will see a lot of track records broken this season. I think the new cars with the aero kits look cooler now and hope the fans will like the changes for this year’s season.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Preseason Testing

TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE OPENING TO THE SEASON AND YOUR OUTLOOK ON TODAY’S RACE:

TRUEX, JR.: “It’s been a good start to the year, a pleasant surprise. I think that it all goes back to a great plan going into the off season. All the guys on the team Joe (Garone, General Manager), Barney (Visser, Team Owner), Cole (Pearn, crew chief) having a good plan and executing throughout the off season. The cars have been running good. The team has been making good decisions. The team hasn’t been making mistakes. Reliability has been there, so everything we have needed to work on and wanted to get better at has been there. Now it’s just a matter of how much better can we get. What are the things we need to work on to improve our performance even more? So far everything has gone well. I’ve got a good car here for today. I felt like yesterday after practice we were probably a top five car. If we make the right adjustments we can possibly be better than that. If we don’t, we could possibly be a little worse. I feel good about what we have. We have had a good weekend here and it should be a good day here at Phoenix. Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Phoenix–Martin Truex, Jr.

BRIAN BURNS, CREW CHIEF, NO. 47 KINGSFORD CHARCOAL CHEVROLET SS – Team making an engine change after the second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice session:
