Larry Swim & BIGFOOT – 2015 Jamboree Nationals Champions!

Larry Swim & BIGFOOT – 2015 Jamboree Nationals Champions!

September 24, 2015 (Pacific, MO) -What a weekend we had in Indianapolis! There were 3 points races at the Indianapolis 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals and there was a BIGFOOT® truck in each final. While we didn’t take a win, we had enough points and were consistent enough (as we had been throughout the series) all weekend to take the overall Jamboree Nationals Championship!
By Saturday afternoon, the points’ totals showed the series was down to Dan Runte with the Summit Racing/Odyssey Battery BIGFOOT and Larry Swim with the Lucas Oil/Firestone Tire BIGFOOT fighting for the title on Sunday. When the smoke settled and the racing was complete, Larry “Leadfoot” Swim was the 2015 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals Champion!

Congrats to Larry on his phenomenal consistency and approach to each and every race! Dan Runte was Larry’s closest competitor and finished in 2nd place. Rookie sensation Josh Gibson and the ’79 bodies retro BIGFOOT finished in 5th Place in his first ever point series!

We would like to thank all of our drivers, crew, and support staff for making this year’s Jamboree Series one of the best ever. We’d also like to thank all the great people with Family Events for putting on this series and giving us somewhere to race outdoors.

Additionally, we would like to congratulate former BIGFOOT/Snake Bite® Driver Gene Patterson on his induction to the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame.

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 4 DITECH CHEVROLET SS – QUALIFIED 2ND
YOU KNOW YOU NEED A WIN. HOW DO YOU GET TO VICTORY LANE ON SUNDAY?
“Well, we all need wins. I think obviously the situation that we’re in with our Ditech/Budweiser/Jimmy John’s team is that a win would make it a lot easier and less nerve-wracking, but everybody has done a great job and I feel like I left it down in (Turns) 1 and 2 down there and just probably not aggressive. It’s a fine line of being really aggressive and going for it and not getting enough. So, the lesser of two evils is usually not getting enough and I just didn’t get enough down there.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–New Hampshire–Qualifying

HOW WAS PRACTICE?
“Our Caterpillar Chevrolet was really good in race trim; not the best, but we were good. But we didn’t get the ideal lap in qualifying. I think we ended up 18th, or something like that. But our car is much better than that. I need to do a better job of driving it. We’ll prove what we have in qualifying here in the next couple of hours.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–New Hampshire–Ryan Newman

PERMATEX/FOLLOW A DREAM TEAM UP TO 4TH IN NATIONAL STANDINGS

PERMATEX/FOLLOW A DREAM TEAM UP TO 4TH IN NATIONAL STANDINGS

Marstons Mills, MA-September 23, 2015-Jay Blake’s Permatex/Follow A Dream team climbed to fourth in the national standings, the highest the team has ever been this late in the season, despite a disappointing first-round loss at the Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway.

The race got off to a promising start when driver Todd Veney ran a 5.53 – just a hundredth of a second from his career-best – in the opening qualifying session, but traction problems set in after that. A tricky surface that confounded teams in all classes led to tire-shake at the top of low gear on the remaining qualifying runs, but the team still began eliminations from a strong position, solidly in the No. 4 spot.

In a first-round battle of 2015 national event champs, Veney lost to Sweden’s Ulf Leanders, who won the Gatornationals, 5.68 to a shutoff 12.74. “The car went up in smoke about 100 feet off the line, and when that happens, you’re usually done,” he said. “I tried to get back in it, but Ulf was long gone. You know the track was tough for everybody when a 5.68 like he ran is one of the best runs of the whole round.”

“That wasn’t what we were looking for, especially after how well the car ran for so long, but it happens,” Blake said. “The good part is, since all the national events lately have been out west and everybody was passing us in national points while we were running regional events back east, we now have a chance to catch up.”

The next chance comes next

Time Attack Round 5: Croft August 2015
The team arrived at Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire for Round 5 of the Time Attack Championship. After sitting out Round 4 at Oulton Park the team members were refreshed and recuperated after what had been a few months of constant hard work making improvements to the car. The car also received some long overdue attention to its suspension setup at S D Motorsport owned by Steven Darley ( a fellow competitor in the Time Attack Championship with his banana yellow Subaru), the sub-frame was realigned along with the toe-in, etc. The team and car arrived at the circuit at about 20:00 hours. Jon and Alison would like to take this opportunity to thank Stayfast and Kevin Davis for their help in getting the car to a few of the rounds this season.
