GenRight Motorsports–Post Race King of the Hammers

This year’s King of the Hammers race lived up to it claim of being “The toughest race in America”!

· Jami’s UTV race was on Wednesday and was going well when at mile 100 of 116 a rear suspension bolt came out and broke the rear shock and axle shaft taking them out of the race.

· Jordan’s race was on Thursday and he drove like a champ! At age 17 he piloted his new MOD Class car to take 2nd place only 45 seconds behind the winner. Very close!

· My 4400 Class race was on Friday. We started 94th off the line and by mile 90 had passed 80 other racers! My crew chief radio’d us to let us know we were running at the same pace as the leader and with time adjustment we would be in 1st. The car was running good and we knew we could continue at the pace we set until the finish. When at mile 98 of 178 we experienced a catastrophic failure that would result in a high speed tumble 6 times bringing our day to an end. I broke my wrist and hurt my knee, but feel lucky to be alive!

Stotz Racing–Ready for a Fresh Start in 2016

Ready for a Fresh Start in 2016

With 2015 coming to an end, the fresh start of 2016 is here. We spent the weekend with Steve and Allen of Dyno Dynamics promoting the new Dynotech line back in December. That show is must see to learn new ways to win in 2016. The R&D things we tried last season will ultimately give us the winning edge for this new season.

For 2016 not only are we running ProStreet but we are also getting ourselves into the Grudge scene. We entered a grudge event at the end of last year and saw great promise for the Grudge bike we are building today. The ProStreet bike currently known as old red will benefit from all of the R&D and also get new bodywork and new paint. As far as our Grudge bike goes we are completely tearing down our blue R&D bike and starting from the bottom up to build the baddest 1K flat slick bike in the world.

There has been a lot of buzz about us coming out with a grudge bike. The crowd knows how fast we have been in ProStreet now take any rules away and it’s pretty much ” Run what you Brung” and may the Baddest team win. We are hoping to get our grudge bike done in the next month with enough time to go down south testing before our first race in April. With that said it’s hard to express how excited we are for this next upcoming season of ProStreet and in our new adventure of Grudge Racing.

Throughout the 2015 race season we had Al Crayton from MDRA follow us to around and get a behind the look at what it takes to run Prostreet and grudge at the top level. We have clips from us racing at Indy, testing up at our local track, and finally entering our first grudge event posted on our YouTube channel with 11 episodes to choose from. We look forward to the 2016 season and our continued partnership with Al Crayton for the 2016 season.

BARBERVILLE, Fla. – Feb. 10, 2016 – Dave Blaney held off Donny Schatz to score the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions feature win on Wednesday night at DIRTcar Nationals.

Blaney took the lead and had to contend with Schatz who charged forward from a sixth place starting position.

Woods Share Memories On 40th Anniversary Of Pearson’s Dramatic 1976 Daytona 500 Win

February 11, 2016

NASCAR is unique in the sports world for a lot of reasons, chief among them is that it holds its own Super Bowl of sorts, the Daytona 500, at the start of the season rather than at the end.

Over the years, it’s worked out well, with dramatic races on the iconic Daytona International Speedway setting a positive tone for the entire season. But few Daytona 500s have ended as spectacularly as the one 40 years ago this month. Continue reading Woods Share Memories On 40th Anniversary Of Pearson’s Dramatic 1976 Daytona 500 Win

VERIZON INDYCAR SERIES
INDIANAPOLIS MEDIA DAY
DRIVER PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT
FEBRUARY 2, 2016

THE MODERATOR: A very special livery unveiling. We’d like to introduce you to the president of Chip Ganassi Racing, Steve Lauletta, and our reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion, Scott Dixon.

Gentlemen, we’ll have you start on each end and do the unveiling.

Steve, obviously this gives you goosebumps to see this, and the importance of Target with Chip Ganassi Racing. Speak of this great relationship you and Target have.

STEVE LAULETTA: It’s certainly been a strong suit of our team for a really long time, and with Chip. To be able to bring back the lightning bolt and the wins around the late ’90s. When we took the idea to Target, said there’s a lot of history talked about, there’s a lot of history with this guy sitting next to me yet to be made, but he’s already made some, they jumped onboard with bringing this back for the entire season. Happy to get it started today. Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Media Day–Chip Ganassi Racing Unveiling

You’re entering the second year with the team. What are things you learned from the first year that you’re looking forward to continuing the second year?

SIMON PAGENAUD: It’s great to have the winter to get to work on the little details. This year was a lot of work, for sure. Between two teams assembled in a very nice way, we have some really, really good people on my car. Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Media Day–SIMON PAGENAUD, NO. 22 TEAM PENSKE

ED CARPENTER, NO. 20 ED CARPENTER RACING CHEVROLET INDYCAR:

THE MODERATOR: We’re joined by team owner/driver Ed Carpenter.

You had some team changes earlier in the week. What will look different for 2016?

ED CARPENTER: Yeah, seems like big changes, but organizationally not huge internally. We had operated as Ed Carpenter Racing from 2012 through 2014, merged with Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing to form CFH Racing. Then as we got into the off-season, towards the end of it, all sorts of things we don’t need to get into related to different things, partnership changes, structure changes that really precipitated us to going back to Ed Carpenter Racing when everything shook out. THE MODERATOR: We’re set to relive the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. We’ll start with Will Power and Juan Montoya.
Gentlemen, welcome. Hopefully Media Day has treated you well, the off-season has treated you well. You have been all over the world. You have been very, very busy.
Let’s talk about that 99th running. Will, for you, it wasn’t exactly how you wanted things to finish. Going back and watching the last 10 laps of that race, it almost seemed like you were exactly where you wanted to be. You held everybody at bay until Juan got you in the end. What’s going through your mind in the last 10 laps?
WILL POWER: I mean, the last 10 laps, I could see Dixon was struggling. He wasn’t able to tow up, which was a good thing. He was holding everybody else off, which was a good thing. Then Juan just dropped and passed me straightaway. Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR Media Day–JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, NO. 2 TEAM PENSKE CHEVROLET INDYCAR AND WILL POWER, NO. 12 TEAM PENSKE
