KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 MCDONALD’S CAMARO ZL1 Media Breakout Session Highlights:

HOW DO YOU LOOK AT THE CUTOFF, THE PLAYOFFS AND HOW YOUR FOCUS WILL CHANGE? YOU RACE ALL THE TIME SO YOU’RE PROBABLY ALWAYS FOCUSED?
“Yeah, that’s good for me. I race a lot so I’m always focused on racing and the next race. It was cool to get locked into the playoffs last week. It wasn’t too long ago that I was right on the cutoff, so it shows how good a last month and a half we’ve had to gain as many points as we have. We’ve been running well and I’m looking forward to the playoffs starting. I feel like we’re at a good point with our race team, our momentum and how we’ve been doing. I’m ready to get through tomorrow’s race and on into the playoffs.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Indianapolis–Kyle Larson →

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY CAMARO ZL1 Media Breakout Session Highlights:

HOW ELATED ARE FOR THE PLAYOFFS?
“I’m excited. I don’t really know what to do or what to expect or anything. But, obviously having been in the series last year and having seen the way that the races played out, it’s just all about getting down to business and pretty much doing the same thing that you’ve been doing to get here, and just try to eliminate mistakes, I think is the biggest thing. I’m going to try to definitely have really clean races and that starts this weekend for us and just trying to build the momentum for it and make sure we execute a good race.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Indianapolis–William Byron →

Hagler Earns Second Touring Car America Podium of 2019 at Watkins Glen
• Tire issue thwarts Taylor Hagler’s bid for a double TCA class podium
• Sally McNulty scores season-best fifth-place TCA finish
• Stephen Jeu takes pair of top-10 results

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Sept. 1, 2019) – The X-Factor Honda Civic Si team saw some new faces leading its multi-car effort at this weekend’s SRO Motorsports Touring Car America event at Watkins Glen International Raceway, with the TCA class results continuing to provide promise for the Honda-powered squad.

Taylor Hagler earned her second podium finish of the 2019 season with a third-place result in Saturday’s opener, marking the first time since the season-opening weekend that Hagler had placed in the top three. The Civic Si driver looked set to do even better than that in Sunday’s event, climbing from fourth to lead the TCA category before a spin dropped her back into the field. Recovering from the spin, Hagler was fighting her way to the front when a flat tire ended her charge and left her in 11th. Menard Finishes Ninth On “Perfect Night” At Darlington

September 2, 2019

Over the years, the Wood Brothers have run 93 Cup races at Darlington Raceway with eight victories and 12 poles.

But for the team and the Wood family, the 70th annual Bojanges’ Southern 500 ranked right up there with all of their earlier Darlington appearances.

On Sunday night and into the wee hours of Monday morning, Paul Menard, on the strength of a smart drive and some savvy pit strategy by his crew chief Greg Erwin, raced to a ninth-place finish, his third top-10 of the season, first ever at Darlington and the 32nd for the Wood Brothers at Darlington.

Combined with setting fast time, winning the Sunnyvalley Bacon dash, and the feature, Abreu cashed out $7800 for his nights efforts, plus the coveted “Louie” trophy. His winning ride was the potent Abreu Vineyards/Golden State McDonalds-sponsored number 24 sprint car. It was his 12th career victory on the historic half-mile oval. The only thing preventing a clean sweep was a second place finish in his heat race. Continue reading It’s all Rico Abreu at Second Night of Louie Vermeil Classic →

Austin Dillon and No. 3 American Ethanol Team Battle Through Tough Southern 500 to Top-10 Finish

“This is just the night we needed at Darlington Raceway. My crew chief Danny Stockman and the team did a great job all night working on the handling of our No. 3 American Ethanol Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and it paid off. The track loosened up a lot more than we expected tonight, so we had to adjust for that and figure out which groove on the track worked for us with that handling. Towards the end of the final stage, we really hit on it and I was able to run the bottom really well. I never could get the top groove to come in for me without being too loose up, but since I was able to make passes on the bottom, I wasn’t too worried about it. We kept ourselves out of trouble when others started to have issues at the end of the race and were able to capitalize with a top-10 finish. This team is more than capable to do this every week, and this is a good way to build momentum heading into Indy. I also want to thank American Ethanol for letting us run my grandfather’s paint scheme tonight. It was really special to carry his colors on the track.”

Late-Race Contact Leads to Cut Tire for Daniel Hemric and No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet at Darlington Raceway

“I’m really proud of this team, but I’m kind of at a loss of words. Our No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet got better and better throughout the last half of the race and we were moving through the field. I felt like we had a top-10 car in the final stage until the contact with the No. 6 car, which cut the right rear tire. I hate so many other cars were involved. That incident damaged something under the hood and ended our night. Everyone at RCR is working as hard as possible to get better and it will pay off. Tonight was just not our night. I know we’ll show up to Indianapolis next week stronger than before. Thank you to Caterpillar for the awesome scheme for Throwback weekend, and to all of the fans that waited through the weather today at Darlington.”

-Daniel Hemric
