Pre-Race Notes
Elite Motorsports: Pre-race notesCircle K NHRA Four-Wide NationalszMAX DragwayConcord, N.C. (April 28-30)
The Elite Motorsports team, the largest team in professional drag racing, has expanded for 2023 and will field a total of 10 entries for this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Concord, N.C. The Elite Pro Stock team features nine drivers including reigning and five-time world champion Erica Enders, Aaron Stanfield, Troy Coughlin Jr., Bo Butner, Fernando Cuadra Sr. and his three sons, Fernando Jr., Cristian, and David, as well as newcomer Jerry Tucker. Mason Wright will also make his second start in the Pro Mod class with his Elite-backed Camaro. In the 19 Pro Stock events contested last season, Team Elite won 15 times and appeared in 26 of 38 possible final rounds. In addition to Erica Enders’ 10 wins, Aaron Stanfield collected three victories while Troy Coughlin Jr. earned his first two professional victories. Enders is coming off the most dominant season of her career that produced ten wins in 13 final round appearances and an astounding 55-9 record in elimination rounds. This season, Enders’ impressive roster of supporters includes Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage, Melling Performance, SCAG Power Equipment, PeopleLease and Mark Stockseth. During her professional career, Enders has accumulated 43 wins in 74 final rounds and has a round-win record of 441-244 for a .644 win percentage. Enders also has a win in Super Gas (2004 Houston) bringing her career total to 44 national event victories. Enders has won at least one event at 17 different venues including zMAX Dragway. She won the track’s fall event in 2015 and also won the four-wide race in 2018. She was also a runner-up at the famed facility in 2012-2013. Overall, Enders has won three events under the unique four-wide format including the 2018 event held at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. as well as her two Las Vegas wins in 2021-2022. Enders currently holds both the elapsed time and speed records for the NHRA Pro Stock class with bests of 6.450-seconds and 215.55 mph. The elapsed time record was set at the 2022 Gatornationals. If Enders wins four events this season, she will surpass three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Angelle Sampey as the sport’s winningest female driver. Sampey currently has 46 wins while Enders has 44. Following an impressive fourth-place finish in 2022, Troy Coughlin Jr. has begun his fourth full season behind the wheel of the familiar yellow and black JEGS.com Camaro. Coughlin enjoyed a breakout season last year with back-to-back victories in Seattle and Topeka. Coughlin also went to final rounds in Phoenix, Reading and Las Vegas.
Coughlin heads to Concord as the No. 2 ranked driver in the championship after a dominating win at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals and a runner-up at the most recent event in Las Vegas. He currently sits just 51 points out of first place.
At the recent NHRA Arizona Nationals near Phoenix, Coughlin became the first winner of the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, a special event open to the four semifinal finishers from the previous event. Coughlin defeated Greg Anderson in the final with an elapsed time of 6.57, compared to Anderson’s 6.60, to capture the inaugural event victory. In addition to his three career Pro Stock victories, the multi-faceted Coughlin has won in Top Alcohol Dragster, Super Comp and Super Gas. Coughlin’s father, Troy Sr., is a 15-time national event winner in Pro Stock, Pro Mod and Super Gas. Including his uncles, John, Mike, and Jeg Jr., the Coughlin family has combined to win 131 national event titles. Coughlin’s career bests in Pro Stock are 6.515-seconds and 212.29 mph, set earlier this year at the season opener in Gainesville. Aaron Stanfield has also returned to the Elite team for another season behind the wheel of the Janac Bros/JC3 Energy Camaro. Stanfield, the son of five-time Super Stock world champ Greg Stanfield, is coming off a season where he was the third-ranked driver in Pro Stock.
Last year, Stanfield earned Pro Stock wins in Phoenix, Bristol and the Fall Charlotte race to go with four runner-up finishes in Pomona, Epping, Norwalk and Denver. Stanfield finished the season with a 38-16 record in elimination rounds.
Stanfield is coming off a semifinal finish at the recent Four-Wide Natonals in Las Vegas and has moved from No. 10 to No. 5 in the standings.
Stanfield won back-to-back titles in the FlexJet Factory Stock Showdown class in 2020 and 2021. He will continue to drive his Janac Bros.-owned COPO Camaro in that class and will also continue to race in the Wright Trailers Top Dragster class.
Stanfield was the winner the last time Pro Stock cars ran at zMAX Dragway last Fall. He defeated Matt Hartford to win the Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals title. All told Stanfield has 21 career wins in Pro Stock, Factory Stock, Super Stock, and Top Dragster. He’s enjoyed previous success in Las Vegas with back-to-back Factory Stock titles at the track’s fall events in 2020 and 2021. Stanfield’s career bests in Pro Stock are 6.457-seconds and 213.47 mph, both set in Gainesville 2022. Bo Butner is a two-time NHRA world champion in Pro Stock (2017) and Comp Eliminator (2006). He joined the Elite team last season as the driver of the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Camaro. Last season, Butner drove to a ninth-place finish in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Pro Stock standings.
Earlier this season in Phoenix, Butner drove to a runner-up finish in Pro Stock, reaching the finals for the first time since the 2019 Richmond event. Butner defeated Erica Enders, Fernando Cuadra Jr. and Kyle Koretsky to reach his 26th career Pro Stock final. Butner is now ranked No. 6 in the Pro Stock standings, 144 points out from first place.
While he did not win a Pro Stock event last year, the multi-talented Butner did earn a pair of victories in the Super Gas class in Indy and Reading.
Butner has 29 career national event victories including 11 in Pro Stock. He also has wins in Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Gas, and Super Street. Butner has also enjoyed success as a big-money bracket racer with a victory at the K&N Spring Fling Million in Las Vegas in 2021.
Butner has won at least one national event title at 14 different facilities but has never won at zMax Dragway. Butner does have three runner-up finishes in Concord including the 2016 four-wide event in Pro Stock along with Factory Stock (2019) and Stock (2013).
Butner’s career bests in Pro Stock are 6.475-seconds and 214.28 mph, set in Dallas (2015) and Gainesville (2017), respectively. The Cuadra family including Fernando Sr., and his sons Fernando Jr., Cristian, and David, have returned to Elite Motorsports again this season and this weekend they will expand to four Pro Stock machines backed by Corral Boots. The Cuadra family will race Ford Mustangs under the Elite banner. Fernando Sr. is a two-time national event runner-up with final-round appearances at the 2019 races in Reading and Pomona. Cristian Cuadra was also the runner-up to Enders at the 2022 four-wide event in Las Vegas and he was a semifinalist at the recent four-wide event in Las Vegas. He comes into this weekend as the No. 8 ranked driver in Pro Stock.
David Cuadra is making his Pro Stock debut this weekend after recently upgrading his Top Sportsman license. David is a three-time finalist in the Top Sportsman category including his most recent runner-up at the 2022 Dallas event. The Cuadra family has career-best elapsed times of 6.515 (Fernando Jr.), 6.524 (Fernando Sr.) and 6.527 (Cristian) – all of them recorded in Gainesville. Their career-best speeds are 212.13 (Fernando Sr.), 211.43 (Cristian), and 210.73 (Fernando Jr.).
Earlier this season in Phoenix, Cristian Cuadra became the first Mexican-born NHRA racer to qualify No. 1 in a pro category when he drove his Elite-powered Corral Handcrafted Boots Mustang to a 6.552 pass. C. Cuadra is one of just 11 non-U.S.-born drivers to qualify No. 1 in a professional NHRA class and the only one to accomplish the feat in Pro Stock.
New to the Elite Pro Stock team this year is Jerry Tucker, who enjoyed a memorable debut in Gainesville. Tucker qualified his Elite Camaro in the No. 15 spot with a 6.573 and won the first round after teammate Enders encountered a mechanical issue. Tucker also performed well in Phoenix, Pomona and Las Vegas qualifying for all three events. He is currently ranked No. 13 but is well within striking distance of the Top 10. Tucker, of Lindsay, Okla., has spent the last 30 years racing everything from Sprint cars to Midgets and has also enjoyed success in drag racing. Tucker previously raced in the Top Sportsman class.
Tucker is expected to be one of the leading contenders for the NHRA Rookie of the Year award. Collectively, the eight current team Elite drivers have combined to win 104 NHRA national event titles across all classes including 64 in the Pro Stock class.
Mason Wright will return to action this weekend in the FuelTech Pro Mod class presented by Type A Motorsports. At the season-opener in Gainesville, Wright qualified No. 10 in the tough field with a 5.828 at 245.49.
Wright is currently ranked No. 16 in the Pro Mod standings but after one event, he’s just six points out of the Top 10. Wright, of Odessa, Texas, is also a graduate of the Top Sportsman class.
Justin Elkes of Modern Racing will serve as Wright’s crew chief thisseason. It was recently announced that Pro Mod the class will be part of the NHRA on Fox Sports television broadcasts for each event.

Randy Meyer Racing Adds Deni Jensen to 2024 Driver Roster

Apr 24, 2023 | Featured, Special Announcements

With only a few races in the 2023 season under their belt, Randy Meyer and his NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster 4x World Championship team are pleased to announce that Deni Jensen will be added to the roster for the 2024 racing season. Deni recently drove Meyer’s injected nitro dragster in Las Vegas and made several passes on the quarter-mile strip to qualify her for an NHRA competition license.

“Deni did a great job driving the dragster,” said Randy. “She is level-headed and carries herself well. She will be a great addition to the team.”

Deni currently drives her family-owned front-engine dragster with a Don Garlits designed chassis. She often runs at tracks in the Midwest including the well-known Mo-Kan Dragway, one of the home tracks of Randy Meyer Racing. But she desires for more and has her eyes set on competing in the Top Fuel ranks. She plans to use Meyer’s Top Alcohol Dragster as a springboard.

“I can’t thank Randy and his team enough for allowing me to join them in Vegas,” Deni claimed. “They made me feel comfortable and calm during my test session on Monday. Randy and I discussed a plan before each run, then we executed the plan every time. They are the absolute best. The opportunity to be able to join this championship winning team and drive for them, I don’t even have words for how grateful and excited I am.”

“My team at Deni Jensen Racing has been working really hard to make all this come together with a totally unique sponsorship program for me and Randy Meyer Racing. We plan to make a few major announcements in the near future. I’m so proud of our program and all the work our GM, Michael Simpson, has put into getting it together. I can’t wait to share our exciting news with everyone in the sport.”

“I want to thank my dad and PawPaw for teaching me how to drive race cars. My dad has been there every step of the way, I wouldn’t be here without him. He’s my mechanic, crew chief, gets me suited up, gives me advice on how to handle myself and a super-fast race car; I couldn’t do any of this without him. My husband Matthew and my daughters Harper and Crosby for being so supportive of me, letting me travel to events, being patient with me while I practice driving the race car at the dinner table, coming to the track for races, and helping us in the pits work on the car. Racing for us is a family event. My mom and grandmother for always going to the races to support me and babysit my girls.”

Randy Meyer Racing will announce their 2024 drag racing schedule at the beginning of next year with a full roster of drivers.

BRITTANY FORCE AND FLAV-R-PAC AIM FOR VICTORY AT ZMAX DRAGWAY FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS

CONCORD, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – After four events out of 21 in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, two-time and defending world champion Brittany Force and the Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy Chevrolet dragster team enter this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte sitting third in the points standings.
Force is the only John Force Racing driver to have won four-wide events on both coasts. She won the Circle K Four-Wide at zMAX in 2016 and the NHRA Four-Wide at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2022. In addition to her 2016 win, she was runner-up at Charlotte to Steve Torrence in the 2021 Four-Wide. The current track record holder for time (3.662 seconds on May 14, 2021) and speed (336.91 mph on Sept. 24, 2022), she was No. 1 at the Four-Wide in 2018 and 2021.
“Heading to Charlotte, North Carolina next on the NHRA circuit. zMAX Dragway is another familiar track for this Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy team. We’ve won in the past, 2016, and have a runner-up finish in 2021. We also hold both ends of the track record,” Force said. “We come into the event third in points which is a solid position. With all the changes we’ve made we are getting back on track and looking for the first win of the season.”
Force earned her second No. 1 of the season, 44th of her career at the first of the NHRA Four-Wide events in Las Vegas before racing her way to the final quad for a semifinal finish. The result is proof that the David Grubnic-tuned Flav-R-Pac machine is coming around quicker than expected after changes in the off-season.

Of those expected to compete are Airborne track champion Travis Bruno, Codie Aubin, Gabriel Cyr, Jamy Begor, Jessica Power, and last year’s winner of the event Shane Pecore.

This will be the Series’ sixth visit to Airborne. Pecore has two wins with the Series at Airborne (2022, 2018), while other winners include John Scarborough (2021), Travis Bruno (2019) and Alex Lajoie.

Spanning multiple regions across the Northeast, the DIRTcar Sportsman Series will again showcase rising stars and yearly veterans tackling the best tracks in New York, Ontario, Vermont and North Carolina.

The season will run through October before coming to a close at The Dirt Track at Charlotte during the World Short Track Championship (Oct. 26-28) – a non-points event.

The Championship Series will commence at Fulton Speedway, Aug. 15, during SummerFAST with the Super DIRTcar Series. Throughout the 11-race title fight, the Series will visit multiple big events like Ransomville Speedway’s Summer Nationals, Albany-Saratoga Speedway’ Malta Massive Weekend, Brewerton Speedway’s Hurricane Harvey 75 and Super DIRT Week for the Chevrolet Performance 75.

Like the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, the championship chase will end at Brockville Ontario Speedway, Oct. 14, during the Fall Nationals.

TEAM CHEVY CHASES BACK-TO-BACK VICTORIES AT BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK

CHEVROLET IN NTT INDYCAR SERIES

CHILDREN’S OF ALABAMA INDY GRAND PRIX

LEEDS, ALABAMA

TEAM CHEVY RACE ADVANCE

APRIL 28-30, 2023

DETROIT (April 26, 2023) – Beautiful Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama welcomes the NTT INDYCAR Series for the fourth race of the 2023 season, and Team Chevy as the defending winner of both the NTT P1 Pole Award and the race.

Pato O’Ward of Arrow McLaren captured the win in last year’s event on the 2.3-mile permanent road course and comes in with a strong start to the 2023 season. Ed Carpenter Racings’ Rinus VeeKay arrives this weekend for his 50th career INDYCAR start and is determined to compete for the win at one of his favorite tracks after capturing last year’s NTT P1 Pole Award. “First road course race of the season and our best race last year,” exclaimed VeeKay. “Barber is a very good track for us. I got the pole there last year but unfortunately only finished third when we were able to win. Hopefully, we can pick right back up where we left off last year!”

With three wins at Barber, the most of any driver in the field, Josef Newgarden of Team Penske looks to capture a fourth victory this weekend on top of his 2015, 2017 and 2018 wins-all powered by Chevrolet, saying he’s “so excited for Barber. It used to be my home track before the Music City Grand Prix,” noted Newgarden. “It’s right down the road, two-and-a-half hours. It’s a rollercoaster of a racetrack and I’ve had some good luck there, some very good cars. Hoping we can put together another good run this year.”

Scoring seven wins since 2012 in the 2.2L V6 Twin Turbo Direct Injection era at Barber Motorsports Park along with eight P1 awards, 15 podiums, and 560 laps led Chevrolet seeks its 108th victory in the Bowtie brand’s 186th INDYCAR race.

“Barber Motorsports Park has been a successful venue for Team Chevy since the 2012 debut of the 2.2 liter V6 engine,” noted Rob Buckner, IndyCar Program Manager at General Motors. “Our Chevrolet engineers have worked well with our teams to develop the right combination to produce seven wins in 10 races at Barber. But we also recognize the high level of competition in INDYCAR at the moment. Our engineers will continue to work hard to find improvements with our teams to keep Chevrolet at the front each weekend.”

“As to the track itself, it represents a number of challenges,” described Buckner. “It’s the first natural-terrain road course of the year. That means lots of elevation change and punishing runoff areas that always get the attention of drivers. Consistent power application and fuel management across the hills and around all 17 corners will be key. There’s nothing more we’d like than to go into the month of May and Indianapolis with another victory at Barber.”

The Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix kicks off with Practice 1 Friday, April 28 at 3:40 p.m. ET, with Practice 2 starting Saturday, April 29 at noon ET. Qualifications then start at 3 p.m. ET Saturday. A final warm up will start race day Sunday at noon ET. All practice and qualifying will be live on Peacock, INDYCAR Radio and SiriusXM Channel 160. The 90-lap, 207-mile race Sunday, April 30 will take the green flag at 3 p.m. ET live on NBC.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Will Power, No. 12 Chevrolet at Team Penske:

“I really, really enjoy Barber. It’s a very nice facility. It’s a tough track with super high-commitment corners. We were able to test there, and I think we have a pretty good setup. We’ll roll off the truck pretty good, we hope. The series is so tight now; you never know where you’re at.”

Pato O’Ward, No. 5 Chevrolet at Arrow McLaren INDYCAR:

“Barber Motorsports Park is one of the tracks I always look forward to – I’ve loved it ever since I started racing there in junior Formulas. It’s a very fast, very flowy track, and it’s easy to enjoy what a race car has to offer around that place. I’m excited to go back. We’ve had a great package there in the last few years, so let’s see what we can do this year.”

Felix Rosenqvist, No. 6 Chevrolet at Arrow McLaren INDYCAR:

”First road course of the year. Barber Motorsports Park is an amazing track, and it’s probably the biggest physical challenge for us drivers. It’s historically our best road course track, so hopefully we have enough to keep that going.”

Alexander Rossi, No. 7 Chevrolet at Arrow McLaren INDYCAR:

”Barber Motorsports Park is always a thrilling challenge, and I’m eager to take it on this weekend. Our team has shown great performance to start the year, but we need to start getting results. As a driver, you always strive for that perfect balance between precision and aggression, and Barber demands nothing less. I’m excited to see the fan energy as we push ourselves and battle for the top spot on the podium.”

Conor Daly, No. 20 Chevrolet at Ed Carpenter Racing:

“Our team has been successful at Barber Motorsports Park in the past and I’m excited to see what we’ve got this year. Obviously, Rinus (VeeKay) has been really fast there, and I hope to be able to learn from him and improve myself. The No. 20 BITNILE.COM car has been a bit unlucky there in the past couple years, so hopefully we can get things to go our way! The goal is now to kind of restart our season at Barber and get things going in the right direction.”

Rinus VeeKay, No. 21 Chevrolet at Ed Carpenter Racing:

“First road course race of the season and our best race last year! Barber is a very good track for us. I got the pole there last year but unfortunately only finished third when we were able to win. Hopefully we can pick right back up where we left off last year! ECR has won here in the past, so I am excited to go back to such a cool track. It’s a lovely place to race at the end of April. Brings some momentum into May, that’s what we need! We haven’t had a great start to the season, we need to turn it around and Barber is a great track to do that at.”

Santino Ferrucci, No. 14 Chevrolet at AJ Foyt Racing:

“Super excited to head to Barber to carry the momentum off of Long Beach. Haven’t been back for a little while now, so we will see how it goes for the team, but I know that Benjamin’s (Pedersen) rookie test proved successful, so I’m very excited to see what they learned and apply it to this weekend.”

Benjamin Pedersen, No. 55 Chevrolet at AJ Foyt Racing:

“I am really looking forward to being back at Barber this week. This is a track I have experience with and have found success at from F3 to Indy Lights. It will be nice to be back on a track that I am familiar with and it happens to be one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. We had a great test here last month in the No. 55 Sexton Properties Chevrolet, so I am excited to see what we can build on and accomplish as a team when we are on track beginning this Friday.”

AUSTIN PROCK AND MONTANA BRAND / RMT LOOKING FO FIRST FOUR-WIDE WIN AT ZMAX DRAGWAY

CONCORD, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – Austin Prock is the only active John Force Racing driver without a win in the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, a distinction he hopes to shed this weekend at the wheel of the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist Chevrolet dragster at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte.
Prock started the 2023 season with two quarterfinal finishes at the Gatornationals and Arizona Nationals before having a runner-up performance at the Winternationals, his third consecutive final-round appearance at the event in Pomona, California. The Montana Brand / RMT dragster is currently sitting seventh in points after a first quad exit at the most recent event, the Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas.
“This Montana Brand / RMT team is ready to get back at in Charlotte. I think what we learned in Vegas will us up nicely in the first qualifying session to make a clean run,” Prock said. “Being able to drop the door and make a good hit right off the trailer really sets you up for the weekend and I know we’re capable of that. Hoping for some sunshine and win lights this weekend.”
Although he’s made only 53 career starts in Top Fuel, Prock already has advanced to seven final rounds with three wins including two in last year’s Countdown to the Championship in which he improved by a record-equaling nine positions, finishing third overall. His first win came at Seattle in 2019.
The Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway starts with qualifying Friday at 4:45 and 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 4:35 p.m. Sunday eliminations are slated to begin at noon. Television coverage of the event begins with qualifying shows Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1 (FS1). Eliminations will begin on FS1 Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Wet Forecast Halts Lucas Oil Late Models Mid-Atlantic Tripleheader

BATAVIA, Ohio (April 26, 2023) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has again fallen victim to Mother Nature.  Rain is forecast to move into the Mid-Atlantic region on Friday and continue through the weekend, with more than an inch of rain expected in some locations. Track and Series officials agree these conditions make the weekend impractical for all parties. The $18,049 to win Melvin L. Joseph Memorial at Georgetown Speedway has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 24 – preceding The Rumble by the River at Port Royal Speedway.     Unfortunately, the Conococheague 50 at Hagerstown Speedway will not be made up in 2023. For anyone who purchased advance tickets to the Conococheague 50, refunds will automatically be issued to the original method of payment. Sunday’s Battle in the Borough at Port Royal Speedway will also not be made up this season. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Port Royal Speedway on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26. The Rumble by the River includes a pair of $5,000 to win programs on Friday before the culmination in a $50,000 to win finale on Saturday. The 2023 season will continue Thursday, May 4 when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions converge at Atomic Speedway for The Night the Stars Come Out. From there, teams head south to Ponderosa Speedway for the John Bradshaw Memorial. The 37th Annual Ralph Latham Memorial will close out the weekend on Saturday, May 6 at Florence Speedway. For the latest news, results, championship standings and more about the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, please visit www.lucasdirt.com.

ROBERT HIGHT AND FLAV-R-PAC CHEVY READY FOR MORE SUCCESS IN CHARLOTTE

CONCORD, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – Robert Hight and the Flav-R-Pac / Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS team enter the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway sitting fifth in the NHRA Camping World Series points standings. The three-time world championship team is approaching the upcoming weekend with a determined mindset.
Hight has won more often at zMAX Dragway than any other track, raising the Wally six times overall, twice in the Four-Wide Nationals (2012, 2014) and four times in the Carolina Nationals (2009, 2013, 2017, 2019). He’s started the Four-Wide from the No. 1 qualifying position three times (2010, 2012 and 2019) and last year, he just missed adding a third four-wide title when he lost in the final quad to teammate John Force.
“Our Flav-R-Pac team has had a couple of tough races lately. I’m looking forward to going back to zMAX, the Bellagio, for the Four-Wide this week,” Hight said. “Charlotte is one of those tracks that we seem to have figured out and do well at. We’ve won here a few times and finished runner-up to John last season. We tested in Vegas last week and Jimmy Prock and the guys are ready to bring home our second Wally of the season.”
After having consecutive first-round losses for the first time in two years, Hight and crew chief Jimmy Prock are looking to rebound. They enter the Four-Wide Nationals in fifth place in points thanks to a win last month at the final race at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park just outside Phoenix.
The Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway starts with qualifying Friday at 4:45 and 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 4:35 p.m. Sunday eliminations are slated to begin at noon. Professional Staffing Solutions Joins Caruso’s Charlotte Efforts this Weekend

MOORESVILLE, NC (April 26, 2023) — A combination of existing sponsor relationships and a passion for supporting the North Carolina drag racing community led to NHRA rookie of the year Camrie Caruso adding Professional Staffing Solutions to her Big Jeff Audio Chevrolet Camaro livery for this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway. Tameka Jenkins, General Manager of Professional Staffing Solutions, wanted to try a different approach to find quality job candidates and help her existing clients reach a new audience and picking one of the rising stars in the NHRA was just the avenue she was looking for.

“The main reason I am involved in drag racing is because of my son CJ who races junior dragsters now but wants to eventually race professionally,” said Tameka Jenkins, General Manager Professional Staffing Solutions. “This is the only event in North Carolina, so we wanted to support that as well. We are aligned with Camrie already because we are both with Right Trailers, so we wanted to support her and start getting involved more in the sport besides just racing. We want to see what kind of feedback and awareness we can get for Professional Staffing Solutions and get a better understanding of the NHRA fan base. I could spend money on an Indeed search or try something unique to find people that support a sport that I am passionate about and so is my son CJ.”

Professional Staffing Solutions’ mission is to provide clients with the best opportunities possible to achieve gainful, fulfilling employment. They focus their success on the cooperative relationship between employers and employees, which is why they are committed to attracting and retaining talented, hardworking, and dedicated employees to fill positions for their clients.

They work with businesses looking to expand or businesses that are just getting started. They can help businesses increase their workload, find a temporary employee to fill a leave of absence, or find additional employees for an event. They find long-term and short-term solutions that cost less than hiring a consultant or recruiter.

“I am excited to promote Professional Staffing Solutions, and this is an unusual marketing opportunity,” said Caruso. “I know Tameka and her son CJ through our Right Trailers sponsorship and through CJ’s junior dragster program. He is a promising young racer with a dream just like me and this is a great opportunity to show how strong the NHRA can be when it comes to marketing a company that needs to reach people. Our sport is so fan friendly we just wanted to show the possibility for Professional Staffing Solutions.”

Caruso and the Big Jeff Audio Pro Stock Chevrolet Camaro will have two qualifying runs on Friday evening and two more on Saturday. The quickest 16 Pro Stock competitors will race four-wide starting on Sunday morning at noon ET. With 23 Pro Stock cars on the property, it will be an exciting weekend of racing with the race being broadcast on FS1.

Justin Ashley Looking to Pick Up Pace in Charlotte

PLAINVIEW, NY (April 26, 2023) — Heading into the fifth race of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season Justin Ashley and the Phillips Connect Toyota Top Fuel dragster team have been hitting on all cylinders. Through the first four races Ashley has collected two wins, a No. 1 qualifier, won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and held the points lead. Success at the unique four-wide racing format is the last hurdle for the 2020 NHRA Rookie of the Year and championship contender to clear. Two weeks ago, Ashley was ousted in the opening round after a solid qualifying effort that saw him enter race day as the No. 4 Top Fuel dragster. Last year at the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals Ashley won his first round of four-wide racing from the No. 1 spot.

“We go into four-wide racing with the same approach as usual,” said Ashley, who made his professional debut at zMax Dragway in 2019. “There is, however, a heightened awareness of everything going on around us because of the two additional cars. We are fortunate to have great support from Toyota when it comes to track conditions. (Crew chiefs) Mike Green and Tommy DeLago have a ton of experience and our Phillips Connect team gets stronger every race. Our success at four-wide races will come when the time is right. I am really looking forward to this weekend and the benefit of racing four-wide at back-to-back events.”

Ashley is no overnight success considering he won the season opening Winternationals in 2022 but this year’s defense of that title on the heels of his Top Fuel win at the Arizona Nationals gave the young driver a huge boost on the competition early in the season. The weekend in Pomona was a dominant performance with Ashley, racing to No. 1 qualifier on a pass that won his team the $10,000 top prize in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge on Saturday. On race day he took out three tough competitors, received a competition bye in the quarterfinals on the way to his second consecutive Winternationals title.

“Pomona was an amazing weekend,” said Ashley, who has been No. 1 qualifier at the past two NHRA national events contested at zMax Dragway. “To qualify No. 1, win the Mission Challenge, and win the Winternationals for the second consecutive year with Phillips Connect representatives in attendance was a blessing. We started our partnership with Phillips Connect at the Winternationals in 2022. (Phillips Connect CEO) Rob Phillips wasn’t at that race so to be able to share this win with him and the whole Phillips Connect team made it extra special.”

Ashley has built his program on strong marketing relationships well beyond Phillips Connect. He has represented Strutmasters.com and KATO Fastening Systems since his Top Fuel debut. In the past two years he has added additional marketing partners Lucas Oil, Toyota and Mac Tools. The personable off the track and successful on-track combination has served Ashley well just three years into his professional career.

“It is a team effort to get every win light in this sport,” said Ashley. “Chip Lofton and Strutmasters.com have supported our program for so many years. Everybody from Lucas Oil, to Toyota, KATO Fastening Systems, Mac Tools and Impact are directly responsible for our success on and off the racetrack.”

Leading up to the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals Ashley will have a full dance card. On Tuesday he joined fellow Toyota NHRA teammates Shawn Langdon and J.R. Todd along with NHRA on Fox’s Brian Lohnes in a curling event against a handful of NASCAR Toyota drivers. Thursday night he will be racing NASCAR drivers in a drag racing versus circle track grudge race at zMax Dragway. These off-track events motivate Ashley to perform on track and relax a little as well.

“Any time you get a chance to mingle with drivers from other series I think that is a plus,” said Ashley. “This is NASCAR country so getting the chance to show off some drag racing skills will be fun, but I think there is a lot to learn from any racing discipline. Thanks to Toyota we get to have some fun on Tuesday and then I am looking forward to the racing event on Thursday night.”

Ashley and the Phillips Connect Toyota Top Fuel team will get two passes on Friday and two more on Saturday before they take to the track on Sunday morning for final eliminations at noon ET. The qualifying highlights and the race will be televised on FS1 throughout the weekend.

JOHN FORCE AND BLUEDEF CHEVY LOOK TO DEFEND FOUR-WIDE TITLE AT ZMAX DRAGWAY

CONCORD, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – John Force and the BlueDEF PLATINUM Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car are on an upswing as they head into this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway. Coming off a semifinal finish at the first Four-Wide event of the season, Force and his Danny Hood and Tim Fabrisi-led crew jumped from 13th to eighth in the points standings.
Force is seeking his third straight victory in the Four-Wide Nationals and is bidding for his fourth four-wide win overall. He has started his BlueDef Chevy from the No. 1 qualifying position in his last four appearances at zMAX Dragway, twice in the four-wide and twice in the fall Carolina Nationals. He also qualified No. 1 at the 2011 4Wide, a year after winning the inaugural four-wide race in 2010.
“I love racing in Charlotte, zMAX is the Bellagio of drag strips, what a legacy for Bruton Smith. Danny Hood, Tim Fibrisi and the guys have built a fast hot rod and we’re ready to keep improving after putting together some solid runs in Vegas. We’ve had a lot of success here in the past and I’m excited to compete for another win for Chevy, PEAK, BlueDEF, Cornwell Tools, Frank Tiegs, Auto Club, and everyone who keeps me out here each week doing what I love.”
Force is the zMAX track record holder for both time and speed at 3.850 seconds and 335.07 mph, both marks set on April 29, 2022. In 12 appearances in the Four-Wide, John has advanced to the final quad seven times and in addition to his three wins, he was runner-up to Robert in 2014 and to Cruz Pedregon in 2018.
ET.

Santa Pod RacewayFri.19 – Sun.21 May 2023  The Doorslammers returns with a vengeance!   Since its return in 2018, The Doorslammers has established itself as a firm favourite on the calendar for drag racing fans and racers alike, and with £90,000 on the line – it’s no surprise. The prize money is scattered throughout a variety of race classes, headlined by the VP Racing Fuels Pro Doorslammer class. Apart from the requirement for doors and the safety stuff, the rules are – there are no rules. Pro Doorslammer is where the big boys and girls go to prove who is the fastest – period. No limitations on body styles, no restrictions on engines, tyres or power adders – do whatever it takes to get to the finish line first. We’ve seen many an upset throughout eliminations but as of yet, we haven’t had a repeat Pro Doorslammer winner nor have we had a British winner – maybe it’s time for a homegrown entry to hang onto the crown.   Owing to the nature of the class structure, The Doorslammers is one of those events where you can see cars you wouldn’t normally find at a traditional championship race event and this year is no exception. After a couple of years with a limited number of overseas racers, it seems that they’ve figured out how to navigate their way around again post Brexit. Early versions of the entry list are dominated with cars from across Europe. In particular, we have a very welcome invasion from Poland with 17 cars entered at present throughout all the heads-up classes including a couple of Pro Doorslammer entries with a tasty Toyota Celica and a Turbo Powered Pontiac Firebird. They should really set the cat among the pigeons!   True Street features an impressive 1,000BHP Lamborghini Huracan Performante from Germany of Stephen Klasen that arrives with 8-second credentials. With no chassis mods allowed and strict tyre rules, a high-powered supercar is always going to be tough to beat but as we’ve seen many times before – anything can happen on the strip!   With slightly more relaxed rules, Pro Street is where the Street Eliminator racers from past and present come to play and they’ve got some quick and interesting Polish entries joining them this year   The Williams Bros Speed Shop are welcomed back as sponsors of the Big Bracket class – a class that Nic Williams himself has won in 2019. As always, the two days of independent competitions are shaping up to be a battle royal of bracket racers. Previous winners Lee Chiles and Lee Huxley both have early entries in along with racers from Germany and Switzerland. Don’t forget there’s £10K on the line EACH DAY in the Big Bracket. Prize money of that calibre is almost unheard of in Europe!   The 6-Cylinder class always produces a gem or two and the first couple of entries are certainly gems. Austrian entrant Hubert Strengberger is signed up with his insane Audi TT; the current AWD Audi world record holder has recently run a best of 7.1sec so that 6-second pass is just a whisker away. The other entry in the class of Mario Kapeller in the AWD Audi A3 is Hubert’s teammate so comes with an equal level of pedigree and from what we’ve seen of it before, it’s always an entertaining watch.   4-Cylinder is always a hugely popular class and again boasts some extremely exciting entries. There’s the usual mix of Fords, VWs and Japanese compact entries with 7-second passes being the benchmark in performance. The beauty of the class is that any 4-cylinder combination capable of running 7 seconds is at absolute peak performance and therefore reliability and consistency becomes a real factor on track. Dane Jack Krugel comes into the event as an unknown to Santa Pod but research suggests he’ll be somewhere near the front of the field with his AWD Nissan Pulsar along with Austrian entrant Johannes Haginger in his AWD VW Golf.   With elimination pairings being drawn out of a hat and a shedload of money on the line anything could happen – and probably will. Join us as the action unfolds over the weekend of the 19th-21st May.

Zetterström Announces Global Partnership with Edelbrock and KW Parts

ALAND ISLANDS, FINLAND (April 25, 2023) — Today, European Top Fuel Record Holder Ida Zetterström announced a new global partnership between Edelbrock Group and KW Parts (Klintberg & Way Group) to support her efforts in winning the FIA Championship driving for RF Motorsport. Edelbrock Group helped Zetterström in her successful first FIA Top Fuel season in 2022, where the team became the first to clock a 3.7-second pass in Europe and picked up their first FIA event win together at Tierp Arena in Sweden.

For 2023, Edelbrock is expanding its commitment to become a primary partner on her dragster alongside new sponsor KW Parts. The collaboration brings together two powerhouse companies on the side of the RF Motorsport Top Fueler. The Edelbrock Group brands represent nearly 130 years of building the best-known performance parts for racers and enthusiasts. Meanwhile, KW Parts, operating in 37 European countries, is Europe´s leading distributor of OE and aftermarket spare parts and accessories for American cars from the 1900s to today.

Zetterström is excited by the prospects this partnership brings to the team.

“I saw an opportunity to bring together two great companies in KW Parts and Edelbrock in a way where we can all work together to bring business and racing forward; I see this being the start of something really outstanding,” she said.

“Just as their products, the people at Edelbrock Group are top of the line. I feel very proud to represent such a solid and recognizable global brand — a brand I have used and loved for many years — and I am incredibly excited to grow our partnership.”

“Welcoming KW Parts as a new sponsor aligns with my love for American cars, but it also represents our mutual commitment to growing drag racing and supporting enthusiasts across Europe. Having two amazing brands show faith in me to represent them at the highest level is humbling. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to start a race season as I am this year. I can’t wait to get started.”

Edelbrock Group Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mark Campbell sees the partnership as a win-win.

“This marketing partnership between Edelbrock and KW is an excellent way for Edelbrock to grow our presence in the European market while showing our love and support of all forms of racing,” he said. “We couldn’t ask for a better brand ambassador than Ida to facilitate our message to the European audience. Not only is she a rising star with outstanding talent, but she is also an enthusiast who understands our products. 2023 is going to be a great year for Ida Zetterström racing.”

Last year marked 20 years since Ida’s start in drag racing and her first season in the Top Fuel class. She begins her second full season in the FIA T/F European Championship this year. She will also run a Cannonball-style race at Mantorp Park and several exhibition events throughout the year. The team starts its season off at the Festival of Power this weekend, April 29th – May 1st, at Santa Pod Raceway, followed by the first event of the European season May 26-28, also at Santa Pod Raceway.

Ida has been vocal about her dreams of racing in the American NHRA series in the future. “I already have my license, which is ready for NHRA racing, and I’m actively striving towards my goal of racing in the USA. I can’t give you any news of me racing there yet but know that it is something I’m working on for the future. Top Fuel and drag racing get my heart racing, and I’m here to stay.”

New Points Fund Format Established for 38th DIRTcar Summer Nationals

Second visit to Tri-City fills July 4 hole; Modifieds added to card at Moberly on June 20

CONCORD, NC (April 25, 2023) – A new points fund distribution has been established for the 38th edition of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals – one that rewards Late Model drivers for their week-to-week commitment to racing as much of The Hell Tour as possible.

Similar to the weekly bonus points funds that Summer Nationals competitors have been accustomed to competing for, the entire 2023 Late Model championship points fund will be distributed part-by-part on a weekly basis. The sum of $125,500 will be paid out in total, awarded to the top-10 finishers in each individual week’s points standings.

Overall points standings through all five weeks will still be kept, and a 2023 DIRTcar Summer Nationals champion will be determined, despite its weekly prize money distribution.

At the end of each week of racing, the top-10 drivers in that week’s points standings will be awarded points fund checks – $10,000 to first place, $5,000 to second, $3,000 for third, and so on according to the scale below.

1$10,000.00
2$5,000.00
3$3,000.00
4$2,000.00
5$1,500.00
6$1,000.00
7$800.00
8$700.00
9$600.00
10$500.00
Total$25,100.00

Once a week is complete, it’s onto the next. All drivers will start from zero points at the beginning of each week and contest all events scheduled for that week, weather permitting. If weather or any other factors force a postponement/cancelation, DIRTcar officials could potentially adjust the points fund purse for that week, depending on the number of completed events to that point.

To be fully eligible to receive a points fund check in any given week, drivers must have a valid 2023 DIRTcar Membership and attempt to qualify for each race in that week. Drivers will also be required to notify DIRTcar Director Sam Driggers of their plans to compete for points in a particular week no fewer than 10 days prior to the start of that week, which will aid in each host track’s efforts to promote their event in advance.

The Summer Nationals tow money program, implemented at the start of the 2022 season, will also be available for Late Model drivers to take advantage of this year. A $500 check will be cut to drivers with perfect attendance at the end of each week – $500 for every 500 miles traveled without missing a race. At 4,788 total miles traveled over the entire schedule, nine bonus checks equates to a grand total of $4,500 pocketed should a driver attend every race.

NEW RACES

For the second time in tour history, both the Late Models and Modifieds will make a second stop in the same season to Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL. An Independence Day special at Tri-City will kick off Week #4 on Tuesday, July 4, paying the standard purses – $5,000-to-win for Late Models, $1,500-to-win for Modifieds. This will be the final TBA-gap to be filled on the 2023 schedule, bringing the Late Models up to a complete 28 races.

Additionally, Modifieds have been added to the program at Moberly Motorsports Park on Tuesday, June 20, making for a new total of 27 Modified races on the 2023 slate. The Modifieds last visited the Missouri half-mile track in 2020, where the event was cut short by rain.

Josh Hart Looking to Continue Rise at Charlotte Four-Wide

Josh Hart Looking to Continue Rise at Charlotte Four-Wide

OCALA, FL (April 25, 2023) — Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will be rolling into the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals hoping the third time’s the charm when it comes to securing their elusive first four-wide national title. The past two years Hart has raced to the final quad at zMax Dragway and as recently as two weeks ago the owner of Burnyzz Speed Shop in Ocala, Florida, reached the final quad at the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals. Hart and his Top Fuel team have yet to see the third win light on Sunday of the unique race. He has started from the top half of the field in each of the past two four-wide races and has never started a race in Charlotte from the bottom half.

“I enjoy racing at zMax Dragway and we have had some success there,” said Hart, who won his second career Top Fuel title at the Fall NHRA national event in 2021. “It has been a while since we turned on three or four win lights there to get that Wally trophy and I feel like we have a team that can compete for wins every weekend. We haven’t gotten off to the kind of start I wanted to this season, but we made progress in Pomona and Las Vegas.”

Hart burst onto the scene in 2021 racing a partial schedule, winning his first Top Fuel race as well as the Charlotte Countdown race in addition to nearly half a dozen semifinal finishes. Last year Hart raced to two final rounds, but a third win eluded the driver who took on the full schedule with a young team and a brand new 12,000-horsepower R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster. The learning curve was steep, but Hart was undeterred and finished the season No. 7 in the world in Top Fuel.

“We didn’t perform last season as well as I was hoping but we learned a ton,” said Hart, who is also a multi-national event winner in Top Alcohol Dragster. “We had a new car and that was the most Top Fuel races I ever raced in one season. I basically doubled my experience in Top Fuel last year. This season we knew what to expect but the competition was also ready for us. We aren’t sneaking up on anyone this year.”

At the season opening NHRA Gatornationals Hart won the Pep Boys Top Fuel Allstar Callout event and its $80,000 top prize. It was a great start for Hart and the R+L Carriers team. Unfortunately, Hart’s Sunday performance was lackluster by his own admission and the following two races challenged Hart and the rest of his team.

“I messed up in the first round of the Gatornationals and then we battled gremlins at the Arizona Nationals after that,” said Hart. “We made some progress at the Winternationals and I think we got back on track in Las Vegas racing to that final quad. I feel good coming to Charlotte about my driving and the race car. Ron Douglas is the best and I wouldn’t trade my crew for anyone else in the pits.”

The two-time Top Fuel winner won’t be the only Hart competing this weekend. His two-year-old daughter Helen will be racing in the historic five-wide Baby Walker Nationals. The race will be contested before the final round of nitro qualifying on Saturday and will pit the offspring of elite pro drivers astride upgraded vehicles for a highly anticipated sequel featuring five-across racing the event dubbed “Tykes on Trikes.” The special event was created and produced by Natalie Torrence of Innovative Creation Experts and sponsored by Mark Beatty and the folks at Red Line Synthetic Motor Oil will once again be a crowd pleaser and fun diversion for Hart.

“This event is a lot of fun and I have to thank Natalie for coming up with the idea and including Helen,” said Hart. “I am not sure who will get the bragging rights, but I know all the parents will be super proud of the effort.”

Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will get four qualifying rounds spread out over Friday and Saturday affording the team one pass in each lane of potential competition. The quickest 16 Top Fuel dragsters will go head-to-head-to-head-to-head on Sunday in three rounds of eliminations. The race will be broadcast nationally on FS1 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. ET and will begin at noon ET at zMax Dragway.

Caruso Ready to Excel at Hometown Race

MOORESVILLE, NC (April 25, 2023) — Camrie Caruso grew up in the Rochester, New York area but since she launched her professional Pro Stock career the 2022 NHRA Rookie of the Year has called the Charlotte, North Carolina, area home. The Mooresville resident is eager to take a second crack at her hometown track, zMax Dragway, the Bellagio of Drag Strips. This will be the third generation drag racers first attempt at four-wide racing at the drag strip located adjacent to Charlotte Motor Speedway. During the 2022 NHRA Countdown Caruso raced her Chevrolet Camaro to the No. 8 qualifier position, but she did not advance beyond the first round.

“We didn’t get to race four-wide at zMax Dragway last year and I was pretty mad about that,” said Caruso. “I came to the race anyway and it was my first time seeing four-wide racing in person. There is a lot going on and I feel more confident coming into this weekend than I did two weeks ago in Las Vegas. I have a good race car and with my new sponsor Big Jeff Audio I am excited to go some rounds this weekend.”

Big Jeff Audio Chevrolet Camaro Camrie Caruso will be racing at Circle k NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte

Prior to the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals Caruso announced a primary sponsorship with Big Jeff Audio for this weekend that will continue all season as an associate marketing program. Big Jeff Audio is a part of Big Jeff Online Inc., a family-owned business that has been thriving since 2014, initially starting out on eBay and Amazon. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, they have now expanded to offer a vast array of products on their site, including car audio and CCTV security systems, all backed by their authorization as an online seller. They have a website full of products for everyone at www.BigJeffAudio.com and have a large social media platform that you can see by searching BigJeffAudio on all major platforms.

“This deal came together quickly, and I am looking forward to introducing Big Jeff Audio to the NHRA community,” said Caruso, who will be racing four-wide in Charlotte for the first time. “They are doing amazing things with not just car audio but side-by-sides, home audio and marine audio, Power Sports and CCTV Needs. We are heading into the summer months so now is the time to update your audio needs for the lake, pool or your road trips. I can’t wait to show off the Big Jeff Audio Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte. It is going to be an eye-catching car and Big Jeff is going to make an impact in the NHRA I know.”

Caruso will have a jam-packed week of activities leading off with throwing out the first pitch at the Charlotte Knights baseball game tonight. This will be another new experience for the rising star in the NHRA as she crosses sports to promote drag racing to a new audience.

“I want to make a good first pitch and not embarrass myself,” said Caruso. “I have grown up in the NHRA so honestly, I didn’t do a lot of other sports. I am going to go out there and have some fun. I am really excited about getting a baseball jersey with my name on it for sure.”

On Thursday night Caruso will be more in her comfort zone drag racing against a handful of drivers from NASCAR in an NHRA versus NASCAR grudge racing event hosted by zMax Dragway. The battle of the strip will be a fun-filled evening pitting NHRA drivers against local NASCAR drivers. On Friday Caruso will spend some time with guests of the Charlotte chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities giving them some behind the scenes access.

“The Thursday night race with the NASCAR drivers will be a lot of fun,” said Caruso. “I am looking forward to meeting some drivers from another series. I don’t know that much about NASCAR but when you get a bunch of drivers together that like to go fast you never know what can happen. The biggest positive is it gives us the chance to get on the track and show off the sport of drag racing. I am also looking forward to meeting the folks from Speedway Children’s Charities. I am going to do more to support that great organization through the season.”

This year has been a breakout experience for the 25-year-old driver who won her first Pro Stock national event at the Arizona Nationals and followed it up with her second career No. 1 qualifier at the historic NHRA Winternationals the following weekend. Caruso powered her Chevrolet Camaro to the semifinals and for a short time was in the Pro Stock points lead as well. Currently, she sits No. 4 in Camping World Pro Stock points.

“I always have goals in everything I pursue and getting that first win was a big goal for this season,” said Caruso, who became just the second female to win a Pro Stock national event. “My next goal is to win that second, then third national event. I want to win a world championship and I think I have a race car that can get me there. This Big Jeff Audio Chevrolet Camaro will be ready to go this weekend for sure.”

Each Pro Stock team will get two passes on Friday and two more on Saturday, weather permitting, with the quickest 16 Pro Stock cars racing for the coveted Wally trophy in three rounds of four-wide racing on Sunday. Final eliminations will begin at noon ET and the race will be broadcast nationally on FS1.
