Autosport International Show & New 2020 Partnerships Announced (Sponsors)
January 2020, with Christmas over and rolling into a new year it’s time to start it off right! We are at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. This event marks the start of our 2020 motorsport calendar and our first event of this new decade. But for this year, Baggsy is smoking out the Live Action Arena Show in his #LSXR35 with his fellow Monster Energy athlete Luke Woodham.
The show typically runs over 4 days, Thursday to Sunday, with 95,000+ visitors though the doors. ASI is the best place for any petrolhead to start off their new year. But for us in the Live Action Arena, we were concentrating on the busy event ahead, with a total of 12 live shows. All inside Hall 5 of the National Exhibition Centre.
This year the Arena was seen to be busier than ever, with media day trade tickets up more than 100% on the same day last year. It was definitely a show not to miss!
#ASI2020 was also a great chance for us to display our custom reflective wrap, printed and applied by Fleet Livery Solutions (FLSLTD). With the insane light show in the arena, the wrap was certainly noticed by many.
For the show Finale, Monster Energy’s Terry Grant stunned the audience by jumping his stadium truck over 5 vehicles, that’s right, 5! Over 3 Million Pounds worth of automotive greatness risked their bodywork for this awesome stunt. Baggsy’s GTR was first in line, then followed by Luke’s S14, Terrys Aston Martin and Jaguar.. and then the 2 Million Pound Lykan Hypersport!
During the event we also had many fans join us where Baggsy always makes the time for photos and autographs, we even saw a Status Error throwback tee!
Moving on into the show itself, Baggsy’s #StreetWeapon Nissan S14a complete with Rotiform LAS-R’s and DMAX Aero kit could be seen in Hall 1 on the OBP Motorsport stand, where it stood out from the crowd with its new livery for the show.
With the new season rolling in fast we can also now announce that we’re excited to be working with some new brands this year.
“STAUFF UK are extremely proud and looking forward to a fantastic 2020 season having signed a sponsorship deal with their latest sporting ambassador Steve “Baggsy” Biagioni. The concept of engineering excellence with a quality product behind Baggsy’s SB Motorsport Team and their skill to offer simple parts installation to a full bespoke build of a winning car sits very well in the engineer/manufacturing world that STAUFF UK operate in. We look forward to working closely with and attending the competitions to support the team, where we know Baggsy’s skills will put our brand in prime view of the spectators of this growing sport. Good luck to SB Motorsport for 2020”
King Bearings –
“We are bearing specialists. King Engine Bearings was founded in 1960 with one simple objective: to supply the highest quality bearings available in the marketplace. Billy’s Speed Shop –
“2020 couldn’t come fast enough to Billy’s Speed Shop, we are very proud to announce a partnership with Baggsy and his SB motorsport team. our wealth of experience with American performance products aligned with the excellence that Baggsy brings gives us the ingredients that are going to intensify the excitement of engine swapping and the powertrain conversion community throughout the U.K. and Europe. Together we’re stronger.”
Phil Gibbons – Director
Crewsade –
“Here at CREWSADE we are thrilled to start 2020 by announcing our official partnership with the pride of European professional Drifting & Motorsport personality ‘Baggsy’!
Clothing, Vehicle and Event collaborations are just some of the many plans we have this year with the man behind the SB Motorsport team. We cannot wait get started!
Big love and best of luck to him this season.”

Al Harris – Brand Manager
Baggsy – 2020 is already looking great! This years Autosport was one of the best ASI shows I’ve ever attended, being able to bring the #LSXR35 into the Live Action Arena this year was such an honour and to smoke out the NEC with my bro Luke Woodham was so much fun! Throwing flames and showing everyone the custom reflective wrap on this V2 Liberty Walk GTR! I also had the chance to catch up with some good friends and sponsors ahead of the busy season, let the fun begin!

GenRight Off Road is Racing a Jeep in 4400 Class at 2020 KOH
GenRight Off Road is Racing a Jeep in 4400 Class at 2020 KOH
Second Race Car is Jeep Wrangler JKU
December 30, 2019 – SIMI VALLEY, CA – For the last two years Tony Pellegrino, team owner and previous second place finisher of King of the Hammers, has coached his son Jordan racing in Ultra4. For the 2020 King Of the Hammers race, Tony is stepping back into the drivers seat as the driver of record for the second race vehicle in the GenRight stable, but he’s not racing his old 4400 race car. Instead Tony is racing the flagship GenRight Jeep Wrangler JKU built in 2013, named the Terremoto, in the 4400 class.
“The Terremoto has been wheeled hard since we completed the build in 2013. It has the GenRight Elite Suspension featuring Summit Machine links and FOX IBP shocks, Currie Enterprises axles front and rear, with R1 Concepts brakes, WARN winch, Factor 55 Ultrahook, GenRight roll cage, GenRight aluminum JKU dash and center console as well as bumpers, fenders and aluminum rocker guards, Rugged Radios race radio, Mickey Thompson 40” Baja Boss tires, Scosche mirrors and fire extinguisher mounts. This is all stuff anyone can buy for their JKU from our website and install. The Terremoto has wheeled hard over the years, including 102 trails across the country in 2019. The GenRight Elite suspension is trail proven and road worthy, so why not race it?” Said Tony while swapping out the old PRP seats in the Terremoto to ones that have a fixed headrest.
Tony and GenRight Racing will complete the minimum requirements to make the Jeep compliant with the rules for 4400 class. That means new seats with non-removable headrests, a bladdered fuel cell, fluid catch cans, a few additional bars for the roll cage and a handful of other small items are needed to be upgraded to pass tech inspection.
“I think the Terremoto will finish the race within the time limit. Ideally, a top 10 finish is what we are shooting for. The Terremoto just wheeled 102 trails in 2019. The only thing that I had to do was change the T-case fluid. It was solid all season, just like it was in 2018. I am taking a trail wheeled street legal full body vehicle and racing it against $150k+ specially built cars. I’ve watched these drivers all season during our VIP Experience runs at each Ultra4 event. I think we will do well.” Explained Tony.
GenRight Off Road was founded in 2006, by Tony Pellegrino. The name is derived from Genuine Ideas Engineered Right. The company focuses on Jeep Wrangler armor, suspension and accessories in both steel and aluminum. Website: Genright.com
CORVETTE RACING AT DAYTONA: Start of a New Era
CORVETTE RACING AT DAYTONA: Start of a New Era
• First public outing for new Corvette C8.R at Roar Before the 24
• All six Corvette Racing drivers to attend three-day test
• Weekend is a dress-rehearsal for season-opening Rolex 24
DETROIT (Dec. 30, 2019) – Corvette Racing returns to the racetrack for another season of IMSA competition, but this time in a very different guise than past years. This weekend’s Roar Before the 24 marks the first public running of the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, which Corvette Racing will field for this year’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The 2020 season will be Corvette Racing’s 22nd of production-based sports car competition but its first with a mid-engine Corvette. The ground-breaking C8.R made its public debut in October and will race for the first time in next month’s Rolex 24 At Daytona to begin in the IMSA GT Le Mans (GTLM) Championship.
This weekend’s Roar gives teams more than seven hours of track time around Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56-mile, eight-turn road course. The goal for Corvette Racing is for its six drivers to gain enough track time to test the reliability of the new racing Corvette and explore a number of different setup options for the Rolex 24.
The No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette C8.R will have full-season teammates Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor driving with Corvette newcomer Nicky Catsburg. Meanwhile, Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner – ahead of their ninth consecutive season together – will share the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette with Marcel Fässler.
Corvette Racing is a three-time winner of the Rolex 24 – in 2001 with the Corvette C5-R and back-to-back in 2015 and 2016 with the Corvette C7.R.
The C8.R is based on the strong foundation of the 2020 Corvette Stingray with both developed simultaneously. There is a deeper level of technology transfer between the race car and production Corvette than ever before, which helps contribute to many of its advancements. As a result, the C8.R shares the highest percentage of parts between the production and race car than any previous generation.
The Corvette C8.R is the fifth racing version that Corvette Racing has fielded since its first season in 1999. Corvette Racing’s record since its debut at the 1999 Rolex 24 is unmatched – 107 victories, 13 IMSA Team Championships, and 12 Manufacturer and Driver titles.
Initial design and development on the Corvette C8.R – with Corvette Racing engineers working alongside Corvette production personnel – began more than five years ago with track testing starting within the last 18 months. Heavy emphasis on wind tunnel and simulation aided in the testing program with that work culminating in a two-day November test at Daytona that gave Corvette Racing a final checklist for items ahead of the Roar and the Rolex.
Corvette Racing will test from Friday through Sunday at the Roar Before the 24. Live timing and scoring will be available at IMSA.com.
ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “There is a lot to discover and develop. Usually your starting point is better than what you previously had. But this is completely different. We are still in the early stages with this new Corvette. There will be big steps for sure. I don’t know when we will get to the point where we will start making little steps. We need to run this car and we need to race it to find out where we are against our competition. We are concentrating on our own work. Whenever it becomes race time, we will know where we actually are.”
JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “As many miles you can put on the car is optimal. The C8.R is obviously still very new, so reliability is always the first question. The Corvette Racing guys have done an unbelievable job designing and developing it. Pace will come eventually, but it already feels like a very solid and competitive car. As many laps as we can get at the Roar and going through the program, getting all the drivers on the same page from a setup point of view and then the little things like pit stops and driver changes will be different than what we’ve had in the past. The car is a little more tricky to get in and out. Understanding that muscle memory of the process of getting in and out, where the seatbelts go, where the drinks bottle is, where the air hose goes… those little details that we haven’t refined that were refined with the C7.R are things that will show up in a 24-hour event, so those are things we will need to check off the list at the Roar.”
NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “I can’t wait for the Roar and to be there with Corvette Racing. It will be my first time in the Corvette C8.R and I honestly can’t wait to do my first laps in it. The experience in the Chevrolet Simulator provided valuable insight into what I can expect with the C8.R. That should help with the getting used to the car on the track. For me, it’s a brand new car, a new team and two new teammates. But it will be a great challenge, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “The team is going to have a very structured plan. And that’s one of the things that’s so good about Corvette Racing. We plan our time and fundamentally understand what all we have to work through and the list of things we need to achieve. The third drivers will need time in the car. We’ll all have to work through that program and procedure as best we can. Certainly we’ll learn a huge amount every time we go on track just with how certain tires work, how the braking package works, the aero setup, weight placement… all kinds of different thoughts that the team will look to work through. We know that of that list of 50 things we want to try and achieve, the chances are that if we can come away with 60 or 70 percent of that done, it’s a pretty big win.”
TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “The development on the Corvette C8.R, compared to previous generations, in a lot of ways is the same process. You go through the normal procedures of testing new things, except in this case everything is new. It’s been a lot of fun going through the process of something new, trying to understand how things work and helping the engineers understand all these new parts and pieces. There are some aspects where we have no input but others where we have a great deal. It’s exciting having raced C7.R for its full generation and now to start something new. I’m excited for what this car has to offer and see how it races.”
MARCEL FÄSSLER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “It makes me super happy to be back for another year with Corvette Racing and to start at Daytona. I’m looking forward to my very first time in the new Corvette C8.R. When I was a child, I remember how exciting it was to open my first Christmas present. That’s what this is like! The C8.R is a really fantastic looking car with a promising competitive look. I’m proud to be a part of this team and honored to team again with Olly, Tommy and everyone at Corvette Racing.”
