Second year Pro Stock driver Camrie Caruso made huge strides driving the Tequila Comisario Chevrolet Camaro during the 2023 NHRA season. The 25-year-old third generation drag racer won twice in 2023 picking up her first Wally at the Arizona Nationals and securing victory at the first Pro Stock Allstar Callout event held during the Gerber Collision & Glass Rt. 66 NHRA Nationals in Chicago, outlast seven fellow Pro Stock competitors. For the second time in her career, she finished the regular season in the Top Ten and last year she made improvements in the Countdown racing to multiple quarterfinal finishes. During the PRI Show in Indianapolis the rising star of the Pro Stock ranks took stock of her second season and looked ahead to a promising 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag racing Series championship run.
 
 
What did that Arizona Nationals win mean to you when you look back at your 2023 season?
 
“They were really special because the year prior our first Pro Stock round win came at the Arizona Nationals,” said Caruso. “Phoenix has always been a great track for us to go to so to win that with we had all our sponsors there was just really special. I am excited we get to go back as defending champs. We had so much support leading up to that race and then after that win it was cool to be able to talk about Tequila Comisario, Powerbuilt Tools, Big Jeff Audio, VP Racing Lubricants and so many of our other partners about that win.”

In Chicago you picked up the first Pro Stock Allstar Callout win. Can you talk about how that impacted your season?
 
“That was a fun event because it felt like a KB Titan Racing versus Elite Motorsports race. When we went to the second round and it was me and three Elite teams, I was like wait, I don’t want to let the team down. To bring it home for KB Titan Racing was cool to show everyone we have a great team. It was a special day for sure.”
 
What was the biggest leap you made as a driver this season?
 
“Just not letting things bother me like starting line games. I have a lot more confidence and I feel like I can race with anyone. This is a tough class and you have to be on your game every run. I think just understanding how the class works was a big deal this year. In my rookie year I didn’t know what to expect and this year was so much better.”

What are you most looking forward to in 2024?
 
“We have a lot of new things coming up. I think our Tequila Comisario team will be even stronger. We announced a full season deal with Tequila Comisario and we have a lot of marketing partners coming back plus we will be adding new companies. I am excited to enjoy some time off and then get ready for another season.”
 
Can you talk about just this was your first year with KB Titan Racing and having teammates?
 
“It’s kind of cool to have teammates because you can bounce ideas off them and talk about track conditions. We have a great mix of drivers with a lot of experience and great attitudes. It’s very helpful and resourceful, especially for a young driver like me.”
 
As one of two women racing in Pro Stock do you get a lot of questions from young female racers about how to break into the category?
 
“Luckily, I have a ton of family support and I have been building relationships with companies throughout my career. I get to talk with a lot of young fans and young drivers, boys and girls, about how to move up to the professional level. I try and tell them to be positive and just keep working hard. When I am at the track I try and stay focused on the racing but also the business side of things. We added a lot of sponsors because I reached out through social media and showed businesses how we could help them grow their businesses through the NHRA.”

Supercars Champ Will Run Full-time Xfinity Schedule With Kaulig RacingPlus a Seven-Race Cup Schedule That Includes Chicago Return

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Beginning what will be one of the top international racing stories in the 2024 season, three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen has touched down in America and is ready to embark on his NASCAR career.  Trackhouse Racing announced today that Van Gisbergen, the winner of the inaugural Chicago Street Race in his NASCAR debut in July, will race full-time in the Xfinity Series driving the No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro with Kaulig Racing, while also driving in a minimum of seven Cup Series races in 2024.

The 34-year-old Auckland, New Zealand native landed in the United States Monday ready to take on the greatest racing challenge of his lifetime.  “After winning in Chicago, I could not stop thinking about racing full time in NASCAR,” said Van Gisbergen who won Supercars Championships for the Australian Triple Eight Race Engineering team in 2016, 2021 and 2022.  “I am still stunned at how quickly this has all come together. I must thank the NASCAR industry and fans for embracing me and allowing me to chase this dream. I respect every driver who has put in the work to make it to the Cup Series, and I am ready to put in that same effort. I am anxious to get started.” In addition to full Xfinity duties, Van Gisbergen will participate in the following Cup races:

Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks brought Van Gisbergen to NASCAR and Trackhouse last year as part of the team’s PROJECT91 program created to give international stars a chance to compete in the sport. Through PROJECT91, 2007 Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen raced in NASCAR in 2022 and 2023.  “We know Shane will be incredibly competitive at the road course events in both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity series, but we wanted to get him as much experience on NASCAR ovals as possible, so I am really excited about his 2024 schedule,” said Trackhouse Racing founder and owner Justin Marks. “Kaulig Racing has a history of winning in the Xfinity Series and as a fellow Chevrolet team, we are so thankful Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice see the potential in Shane that we see. The anticipation for this season is palpable.” Van Gisbergen’s Chicago victory and 10th-place finish on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Aug. 13 are his only two Cup Series starts. His only other NASCAR experience came Aug. 11 at Indianapolis Raceway Park where he made his paved oval career debut. He kept a lead lap position until the final few laps, finishing 19th.  After taking over the lead from former Kaulig Racing driver Justin Haley at Chicago with five laps remaining, Van Gisbergen became one of six foreign-born drivers to win a Cup Series race and the first driver since Johnny Rutherford in 1963 to win his first Cup Series start. It was just the latest entry in a resume that includes three Supercars titles, 80 wins and 48 pole positions making him the fourth most successful driver in Supercars series history. He also won the Bathurst 1000, the premier race in Australia, in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Van Gisbergen joins a Kaulig Racing organization that has won two Cup races and 23 Xfinity races since the team’s inception in 2016. The Welcome, North Carolina team won the 2023 Bank of America ROVAL 400, as well as four Xfinity races with a variety of drivers. Van Gisbergen will join Kaulig Racing teammates Josh Williams, driver of the No. 11 Chevrolet and AJ Allmendinger, driver of the No. 16 in 2024 Xfinity season. “We started our talks with Trackhouse about the possibility of putting SVG in a Xfinity car for a few races quite some time ago, and from there the talks evolved to discussions about how much it would cost to run a full season,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “Once we knew we had an open seat for next season, it became the perfect scenario to put him in the car. (12/11/23 – Jim Allen) Sacramento, CA … The Northern Auto Racing Club (NARC) 410 Sprint Car Series has rolled out a robust 26-race campaign for the 2024 season. The tour will invade 17 different dirt oval tracks in California, Oregon, and Washington and compete for more than $800,000 in prize money and awards.

The sanctioning bodies 65^th annual open wheel campaign will fire off on March 9^th at Kings Speedway in Hanford. Other highlights from the opening month include the $10,000 to win Mini Gold Cup at Chico on March 16^th and a return trip to Merced Speedway for a March Madness show on March 23^rd.

The NARC sprint cars will battle on the newly configured Stockton Dirt Track twice during the month of April. This includes the Asparagus Cup on April 6^th and the Salute to Leroy Van Conett on April 27^th. Those events will bookend the lucrative $11,000 to win April 13^th Peter Murphy Classic at Kings Speedway.

The month of May features a pair of races at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway (May 4^th and 18^th) and the Contra Costa County Clash at Antioch Speedway on May 11^th.

June is by far the busiest month on the schedule, featuring ten events at eight different venues. It kicks off with the popular Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial race at Placerville Speedway, which will run for the 33^rd time on June 1^st.

The centerpiece of the NARC schedule is an eight-race road show through the Pacific Northwest. The Fastest Five Days in Motorsports will get underway on June 12^th at Southern Oregon Speedway in Central Point, OR. That will be followed by shows at the Douglas County Dirtrack (Roseburg, OR), Cottage Grove Speedway (Cottage Grove, OR), Willamette Speedway (Lebanon, OR) and Grays Harbor Raceway (Elma, WA) on consecutive nights. All of these events pay $5,000 to win and $600 to start the feature.

After a short three-day intermission – which will be loaded with several fan-engagement events – the NARC sprint cars will tackle the crown jewel on the schedule, the $62,000 to win Super Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway on June 20-22^nd.

The busy month concludes with the David Tarter Memorial at Silver Dollar Speedway on June 29^th.

Three more tracks are added to the mix during July. Petaluma Speedway will host its only NARC show of the season with the inaugural David Lindt Memorial ($5200 to win) on July 6th.  The 14^th Annual Howard Kaeding Classic, featuring a $6,900 payday to the winner at Ocean Speedway is next up on July 13th.  The NARC sprint cars plan to return to the newly reopened Santa Maria Speedway on July 27^th.

The NARC series is dark in August and September as the High Limit Series and the World of Outlaws stage dominate the calendar in California. At that point only four events remain on the schedule for those in the championship hunt. This includes the popular October 5^th Morrie Williams Memorial Twin-20’s event at Kings Speedway, and a big double-header at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway and Kings Speedway on October 25-26^th.  The event at Kern Raceway will coincide with an NASCAR ARCA event taking place on the paved track.

The season wraps up on November 2^nd at the Stockton Dirt Track with the Tribute to Gary Patterson. This Triple Crown event is the championship night for the NARC 410 Racing Series, the Sprint Car Challenge Tour 360’s, and the JW Hunt non-wing series.

The NARC Championship Celebration awards presentation will take place on November 3^rd at the Brookside Country Club in Stockton, CA.

Indianapolis, IN – The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Elite TEN National Championship, the apex of high school automotive engine rebuilding competitions, concluded with Forsyth Central High School Team Fragola, winning the championship title. Held at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show on December 7th-8th, 2023, in Indianapolis, this year’s event saw 32 teams from across the nation compete in the SEMA and PRI Playoffs, with the top 5 from each advancing to the Elite TEN Championship.

Forsyth Central High School Team Fragola from Georgia, under the guidance of Instructor Tyler Turner, delivered a stellar performance with an average time of 17:16, securing first place. York County School of Technology Team 1 from Pennsylvania, coached by Todd Kessler and sponsored by Motive Gear, earned second place with an average time of 18:22. The third, fourth, and fifth places were claimed by Forsyth Central High School Team JE Pistons, York County School of Technology Team NASCAR Tech, and CD Hylton High School Team SCAT, respectively.

A highlight of this year’s championship was the awarding of over three million dollars in scholarships to students who participated in the playoffs and championship. CONCORD, NC (Dec. 6, 2023) – If there was one driver and team that didn’t want the 2023 season to end, it was Zach Daum and Trifecta Motorsports. Fortunately, 2024 is right around the corner.

Daum, 32, of Pocahontas, IL, will contest the entire 2024 Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota schedule with the team from Tulsa, OK, one season after earning five Feature wins, making up over 200 points in the standings and coming up one spot short of a repeat championship.

Their surge from ninth all the way up to second in the driver’s points standings was one of the largest turnarounds in modern-day national Midget series history, leaving everyone, Daum included, to wonder what might have been had he been in the seat of the Trifecta #7U from the start of the season.

“We showed speed right off the bat, and I feel like we only got better as the year went on,” Daum said.

Team owners Staton Flurry and Steve Carbone made the change in the driver’s seat in June, putting Daum in the car 1/3 of the way through the 2023 schedule. By season’s end, they clinched the Xtreme Outlaw-POWRi Challenge Series championship and narrowly lost out on the team points championship in the final weekend.

It was a season so unforgettable, they couldn’t resist coming back for more.

“It didn’t make it easier – it made it happen,” Carbone said of their results in 2023. “Our run on tour last year was kind of a one-and-done, like, ‘Hey, we’re just going to go run it so I can say that I ran it.’ I’ve always wanted to be a car owner, always wanted to go run a national tour for a year.

“I really thought I was going to the lake next year.”

Going on seven years of team co-ownership in 2024, Carbone has seen several drivers come through the Trifecta shop in his time at the helm of the 7U team, but few like Daum. They both share a similar background in pavement open-wheel racing, which Carbone said may be a contributing factor to their eye-to-eye communication and understanding at the track.

“Zach’s just different,” Carbone said. “He is one of the smartest racers I’ve ever watched.”

Before their first trip to Victory Lane together, Trifecta had gone several years racing a handful of national Midget series events every year but remained without a Feature win. Daum brought it to them at Wayne County (IL) Speedway in June – twice in one weekend – and in came the attention and the support for a 2024 campaign.

“I was kind of blown away – the phone calls that I’ve received since Zach started driving for us,” Carbone said. “I’m pretty good at soliciting some help along the way, but the people who just love Zach and were willing to open up their checkbooks and make sure it happens again – that was a big deal.”

For most of his career, Daum has wrenched on and housed his equipment at his own shop in Greenville, IL. It’s been a change for him having the 7U operation housed completely at the Trifecta Motorsports shop over 400 miles away, but a welcomed one considering his duties building King Chassis during the day and being a father at home in the evening.

“You always seem to make time for whatever you’ve gotta get done, but time is getting thinner and thinner to find,” Daum said. “Them being able to keep it [at their shop] and work on it and we show up to the racetrack and we’re ready to go – that says a lot for my sanity.”

Prior to their full-time pairing, Daum had raced select events in Trifecta’s second car and formed a primitive working relationship with Carbone and crew chief Bobby Milliser. That became another change for Daum in going from his own operation back to driving for another team, but the chemistry is there and the results speak for themselves.

“We all have the same mindset – you know you’re not going to win every night, but you’re damn sure going to try,” Daum said. “We all just get each other. We’re all cut from different molds, but we all have the same purpose. That’s to win races and be competitive and be on the podium every night the 7U rolls out.

“It’s been fun. Haven’t had too many nights where we’ve wanted to kill each other, so that’s always a plus.”

If hard work and dedication was driving force behind their first season, then the results are the signs that point toward their potential for 2024. Daum and Trifecta are coming for the Xtreme Outlaw Series championship as one of national Midget racing’s newest nightly contenders.

“As long as we do what we did last year – we win races, we run up front, we podium a lot, we should be right there in the hunt again,” Daum said.

“We absolutely expect to win,” Carbone said.

The Richmond, IN driver will join Max McLaughlin and Dustin Sorensen as Rookie of the Year contenders

CONCORD, NC – December 6, 2023 – At 16 years old, Tristan Chamberlain has an opportunity many his age can only dream about.

He’ll join the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series full-time in 2024, driving Holly and Wayne Gibson’s #20TC car. In doing so, he’ll become the youngest contender for the Rookie of the Year title, starting at Volusia Speedway Park’s Sunshine Nationals, Jan. 17-20.

“I didn’t think this would happen until I was at least in my 20s,” Chamberlain said. “It’s not a lot of pressure, but I’m nervous and excited. Not many 16-year-olds get the chance to race with the World of Outlaws. I’m definitely humbled and overwhelmed. But it’s cool, and I’m excited to go do it.”

It’s an opportunity he won’t be doing alone, as he’ll have his family by his side. His father, Duane, a former racer, will be Chamberlain’s crew chief in the Richmond, IN driver’s inaugural World of Outlaws season. His mom and sister will also be helping with the team’s merchandise at most of the races.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Chamberlain said. “It’s something my dad has always wanted to do and it’s something we get to do together. And I think it’s going to be a pretty cool experience for both of us.

“It’s going to be a family thing. It’s something we all love. Holly and Wayne Gibson are giving us a chance to do something we’ve always wanted to do, and it’ll be a fun experience for all of us.”

Like his son, Duane is also grateful for the opportunity to travel with Tristan up and down the road, giving him advice along the way.

“I’m extremely excited that he’s getting the chance to do this at all on a full-time level,” Duane Chamberlain said. “Especially the fact that he’s only 16 years old. I think that we’ll turn more heads once people see how talented he really is.”

That family atmosphere is what Gibson sought when selecting Tristan to drive his Late Model in 2024.

“I think at 16 years old, we have a very mature, very talented young driver,” Gibson said. “From our standpoint, he’s a better kid than maybe even a racecar driver. He’s got a maturity about him that we’re excited about. He’s got a passion we’re excited about. And the fact that Duane, his dad, who’s been a racer his whole life has decided to take his racing career and put it in the back seat for Tristan excites us.

“We’ve decided to do this thing in more of a family atmosphere and consider the Chamberlain’s part of our family.”

While Chamberlain will run full-time on a national tour in 2024, it’s not his first time competing against the best driver’s dirt Late Model racing has to offer. He finished 18th at last year’s World 100 and earned the event’s Rookie of the Year honors.

It’s a result that gives him a lot of confidence entering Volusia—a track similar in size to Eldora.

“It builds up my confidence knowing I can run against these guys,” Chamberlain said. “They’re the best around. And just being able to run top 15 is a big accomplishment. Going into next year, just running with all these guys, I think I can learn a lot from them, racing against them almost every weekend. It’ll definitely be a lot of learning for me.”

Gibson also realizes the learning curve that’s ahead of his driver in 2024. But he said he knows Chamberlain will give it everything when the #20TC Longhorn Chassis, powered by Spec Racing Engines, hits the track.

“We can hardly wait to get down to Volusia,” Gibson said. “As good as Tristan is, there’s no illusion that we’re going to dominate in any form because we’re racing against the most professional and the best racers in the world. Our goal is to compete, and we believe Tristan will do that.”

After five consecutive World of Outlaws championships with Kasey Kahne Racing, Bowman is joining TRICON Garage for next seasonMOORESVILLE, NC (December 5, 2023) – Andrew Bowman has found himself on an interesting journey. A journey that’s led from Sprint Cars to NASCAR. After five consecutive World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car titles with Kasey Kahne Racing, TRICON Garage has brought Bowman aboard Tanner Gray’s NASCAR Truck Series team for the 2024 season.The starting line for Bowman’s journey was painted in a small western Ohio town named Elida. Born into a racing family, and surrounded by Sprint Car racing, his path to a motorsports career was forged early on.   “I started when my dad took my brother and I to the shop where he was working on Sprint Cars since basically my brother and I were born,” Bowman recalled. “Going there and learning growing up. The guy that he was working for – Mark Long – decided to retire from Sprint Car racing and sell his stuff to his cousin – Darren Long. That was in ’99, I believe. From there on, we just went to the shop every single night learning the ins and outs of Sprint Cars.”Throughout his youth, Bowman soaked up knowledge and experience working with his father. Once Darren Long retired, Bowman and his brother – Trey – went out on their own working with Shawn Dancer. Eventually, Bowman graduated college and came to a fork in the road.“By that time, I’m graduating college, which has nothing to do with racing at all,” Bowman explained. “So, I got a message from, I believe my brother, saying he saw on Twitter that Joe Trenca from New York was hiring. So, at that point I’m wondering do I go ahead and make my decision to go Sprint Car racing as a career? So, I did. I got hired by the Mucci Motorsports #98 with Joe Trenca behind the wheel.”It wasn’t long before Bowman was introduced to Justin Adams with Kasey Kahne Racing, who brought him aboard to join Brad Sweet’s #49 team as a Tire Specialist for the 2018 season. Since then, a magical run followed. The team won nine races that year and finished second in points before going on a run of five straight championships with The Greatest Show on Dirt. Bowman has been a part of 65 World of Outlaws Feature victories with KKR.“It’s kind of like a dream come true, but sometimes I still feel like I’m living in a dream,” Bowman said of the run. “I just remember at the 2018 World Finals when Donny (Schatz) had his 200-plus point lead. Going into it, I remember being really mad that it wasn’t us. I wanted to work harder to achieve that, which we did.”Now, Bowman is set to take on a new challenge by joining TRICON. The move was primarily motivated by his desire to focus more on family. Transitioning to the NASCAR Truck Series allows him to remain in racing while having more time at home.“When I found out my girlfriend was pregnant, I still wanted to Sprint Car race, but I knew at some point I’d probably need to come off the road full-time to tend to my kid,” Bowman said. “And at that point, George Loux from KKR spoke to me and basically said if I ever want to come off the road, he could help me get into the NASCAR world. So, I’d say probably sometime between California and World Finals I got ahold of him and he vouched for me. Right away he told me to come to the shop and talk to one of the crew chiefs and I did. One thing led to another and they hired me a couple days later.”The Trucks will tackle a 23-race schedule next year, making Bowman’s travel much less extensive. He’ll be an at-track Tire Specialist, similar to his role with KKR, while also helping in the Mooresville, NC-based shop. After a life spent in Sprint Car racing, Bowman is looking forward to learning more with a new opportunity.“I’ll be a mechanic as well as a Tire Specialist at the racetrack,” Bowman said. “So, I’ll be at the shop and part of the track crew. I’ll be able to fly in and fly right back out and still have a home life… I’m looking forward to learning how the Trucks work. I don’t know anything on the asphalt side of racing. I’ve always been on the dirt side of everything, so I’m interested to see how those type of race cars react on racetracks or in different situations.”While Bowman is excited for the next chapter, it also brings a bittersweet side. He’s spent his entire life in the Sprint Car pit area, and over the last several years has been at Sprint Car races nearly every weekend. There was a family atmosphere to it, he said, one aspect he’ll miss.“I feel like everybody in the Sprint Car world is one giant family,” Bowman said. “I just feel like in the dirt world the teams are basically family. Everybody loves each other and everything. I think that’s going to be the most difficult for me.”But even though it won’t be the focal point of his life anymore, Bowman still intends to take in some Sprint Car races when time permits. He may not work in the dirt side of the racing world anymore, but he’ll always be a part of the Sprint Car family.“Oh yeah, I’m going to try to get to some World of Outlaws events as time allows me,” Bowman said. Bowman’s NASCAR season will begin a week after the World of Outlaws kick off the 2024 campaign at Volusia Speedway Park’s Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Feb. 7-10). CONCORD, NC – December 5, 2023 – Dustin Sorensen grew up watching the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models Series at his home track. And now, he’ll compete against them every night.

The Rochester, MN driver will join the Series in 2024, racing for Rookie of the Year honors in his family-owned #19.

Sorensen first saw the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models sitting in the grandstands at Deer Creek Speedway and said he’s loved them ever since.

“I remember the Gopher 50 growing up at Deer Creek, my home track,” Sorensen said. “And I loved watching the races there.”

Deer Creek was also the site of his best Series finish in eight starts—a third place behind World of Outlaws champions Bobby Pierce and Brandon Sheppard.

The podium finish boosted the confidence of the 23-year-old driver, who’s using it as fuel for 2024.

“(Deer Creek) is a track that I probably have more laps around than anyone else I raced against that night,” Sorensen said. “That’s a big part of why I ran so good is because I’m so comfortable there. It also made me realize I could probably be good and run better at other places if I could learn to adapt more quickly.”

While Sorensen is preparing for his first season with the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models, he’s no stranger to a national tour. Two years ago, he won the United States Modified Touring Series championship—a feat also claimed by Series competitor Ryan Gustin.

Sorensen said it’s more travel that he’s dealt with in the past but something he’s prepared for.

“It isn’t quite as rigorous of a schedule with USMTS,” Sorensen said. “Living in Minnesota we aren’t as far from home as we will be now or be on the road for as long as we will be with the World of Outlaws. But I have experience going to new tracks, and I’ll adapt quickly to that, and it’s just being on the road.”

As Sorensen enters his rookie season with the World of Outlaws, he knows his experience will help him, especially at tracks near home like Deer Creek and Mississippi Thunder Speedway, where he won a Dirt Kings Series Feature in August. And with that knowledge, his expectations are set for 2024.

“I guess I just want to be competitive and be consistently inside the top 10 on tour,” Sorensen said. “If we can knock off a couple of wins, that’d be great.”

From the grandstands at Deer Creek to the driver’s seat of his Late Model, Sorensen said he’s excited about what’s to come next season.

“There’s no better place to run Late Models than with the World of Outlaws,” Sorensen said.

New Team Partners With Aprilia in the World’s Premier Motorcycle Series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In a move that expands its global motorsports presence, Trackhouse Entertainment Group owner Justin Marks announced today his organization will field a MotoGP World Championship team beginning in the 2024 season. The newly formed team will be managed by Trackhouse Entertainment Group from Nashville, Tennessee but operate in Noale, Italy in an alliance with motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia and the Piaggio Group. A team presentation unveiling riders, corporate partners and livery will be held at a later date.

“This is a monumental moment for Trackhouse Entertainment Group,” said the 42-year-old Marks.“It has been in the ethos of Trackhouse since the very first day to put in the work, have the vision, and deploy the enthusiasm and passion necessary to build one of the most valuable motorsports entertainment companies in the world. Our entry into the MotoGP World Championship is another step in the execution of that vision.”

The 75-year-old FIM MotoGP World Championship is the premier motorcycle racing series in the world with eleven teams each fielding two riders. The 2024 schedule includes 22 races in 19 countries across five continents, The season begins on March 10 in Qatar with an American race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on April 14. Trackhouse Entertainment Group is the owner of Trackhouse Racing’s NASCAR team, which operates out of Concord, North Carolina. After a full-time driving career in sports cars and NASCAR, Marks founded Trackhouse Racing in 2020 and started fielding Chevrolets in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021.

The new team has enjoyed success on track. Daniel Suárez became the first Mexican driver to win a Cup Series race when he visited victory lane in 2022, New Zealander and three-time Supercar champion Shane van Gisbergen won at Chicago in his debut Cup race on July 2 and American Ross Chastain finished second in the standings in 2022 and posted four victories including the 2023 Cup Series season finale on Nov. 5.

A chat at Millbridge Speedway led to a new partnership for the 2024 Xtreme Outlaw season

CONCORD, NC (Dec. 1, 2023) – Chase McDermand is coming back in 2024 with a new team, a new home base and a new plan for the future.

The 23-year-old is relocating from his home in Springfield, IL, to join Dave Mac-Dalby Motorsports (DMD) in Mooresville, NC, and pilot the team’s flagship Toyota-powered Spike Chassis for the 2024 Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota campaign.

As fate would have it, their partnership was forged at the birthplace of the Series – Millbridge Speedway. McDermand and team owner Dave McIntosh paired for a Micro Sprint event at the North Carolina oval in October, and it was there they spoke and discovered a shared vision for 2024.

“They kind of aligned, what both of us wanted to do,” McDermand said. “I was looking for something different and he was having a fresh start with things. That kinda meshed, and that’s where it started.”

McDermand landed in the hunt for his first national Midget series championship this year, scoring the most Feature wins, most Quick Time awards with a fifth-place finish in points in his second season with Mounce/Stout Motorsports. But he felt it was time for a change, and it just so happened McIntosh did as well.

Following the departure of son Cannon McIntosh from DMD in September, Dave was in need of a new driver to fill the seat for the upcoming season. And with crew chief and business partner Robert Dalby taking up an opportunity in NASCAR next year, the team was in need of some multi-faceted help.

McDermand is a two-way racer, excelling both as a driver and his own crew chief. It’s an attribute few other young drivers in the pit area possess, and one that has always stood out to McIntosh.

“When we started thinking and talking about Chase – this is a guy that can take on more,” McIntosh said. “I think we’ve made it pretty clear that he’s coming to drive for our team, but he’s gonna be a very crucial part of the day-to-day stuff as well.”

Wrenching on and maintaining his own equipment is how McDermand has built his career, going back to his days as a multi-time D2 Midget champion. He’ll do the same in his new position at DMD, trying to gain an advantage on his competition.  

“Being a driver and a crew chief, I feel like both of them help each other,” McDermand said. “You can apply things differently when you look at it from a different angle.”

During the week, McDermand will be hands-on with DMD’s newly formed Micro Sprint division, Dave Mac-Barnhill Motorsports, preparing the team’s fleet of Micro Sprints for weekly competition at Millbridge in addition to his Midget. Heading into year two of operation, the team is aiming to handle an influx of new Micro Sprint racers even greater than they hosted in 2023.

“We want to work with drivers and see them develop from our Micro program and carry that on into a prepared racecar driver that’s ready to go race Midgets,” McIntosh said. “I look back on working with Cannon when he was little and some other drivers we worked with, just seeing when it all clicks – that’s what it’s all about for me.”

Likewise, McDermand has plans to become an owner, and feels his time at DMD will also help in laying down the foundation of principles on which he’ll build his own team in the future.

“My ultimate goal is to give someone an opportunity that may not be able to afford one or have the right connections to work something out,” McDermand said. “It’s what I’ve done in the past a few times this year, and I really enjoyed doing that alongside racing myself.”

But until then, McDermand is focused on his own driving career. His next step – debuting with Dave Mac-Dalby Motorsports at the season opener inside the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin, IL, March 15-16, where his path to a first Xtreme Outlaw Series championship begins.

“I’m confident that we have everything we need to win the championship with Xtreme next year,” McDermand said. “We just need to put all the pieces together, and I’m really confident that we can do that.”

“I don’t think we’d be doing this if we didn’t feel like we could compete for a title,” McIntosh said. “We share that same drive, and that’s what we’re pushing for.”

BATAVIA, Ohio (December 1, 2023) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues its prosperity as it embarks on its 20th season of competition as the premier tour for dirt late models. The 2024 season will bring the elite teams of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series together for 63 events at 28 unique venues across 16 different states. The 2024 schedule is highlighted by 21 events that will pay a minimum of $20,000 to the winner. Of those, are 12 crown jewel events that boast a $50,000 or more top prize. The 2024 campaign will launch with a record 15 events during the Georgia-Florida Speedweeks, including a return to Golden Isles Speedway for a $10,000-to-win event on February 23 and a $20,000-to-win on February 24. The $100,000-to-win 44th Annual Dirt Track World Championship returns to Eldora Speedway, set for October 18-19 to cap off the year. Two tracks make first-time appearances on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series slate in 2024. Gustin will drive a Longhorn Chassis owned by Cooney starting next season

CONCORD, NC – November 30, 2023 – In 2023, Ryan Gustin and Todd Cooney battled every night with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series. And that will continue in 2024.

However, they won’t just be competing against each other when the season kicks off at Volusia Speedway Park during Sunshine Nationals Jan 17-20. They’ll also be teammates.

After three seasons on tour driving for Tri-Star Promotions, Gustin will join forces with Cooney in 2024 in a second Todd Cooney Racing Late Model. Having Gustin in one of his cars was an easy decision for the Cooney, whose time as a driver is nearing its end.

“I know that 2024 will probably be my last year racing,” Cooney said. “I want to try and get one more year in but understand I’ve been saying this for the last 10 years. That being said, I still want to be in the sport and be relevant in the sport. 

“Ryan lives right up the street from us. We’ve known him since he was a baby. So, we have a good relationship as far as that goes, and Ryan’s a super nice kid. He’s up on the wheel and drives it for everything it’s got. We just feel it’s a perfect fit.”

Gustin echoed Cooney’s words and said he’s ready for what’s to come racing for a long-time family friend.

“I’ve known Todd for basically my whole life,” Gustin said. “Our families go way back. The deal kind of came about where he’s probably going to do one more year and then hang his driving shoes up. So, we’ll be the one to take over the Cooney Racing ride and hopefully have some big things to come in the future.”

A team change won’t be the only difference for Gustin in 2024. The Marshalltown, IA driver will also make a chassis change. 

After three years in a Rocket Chassis, he’ll step into a Longhorn for the first time in 2024. Gustin said he isn’t sure what to expect once he reaches the Sunshine State.

“I honestly have no idea,” Gustin said. “Hopefully, we’re fast out of the gate, and there isn’t much of a learning curve.”

What won’t be a learning curve for either driver is the knowledge the two will share throughout the season. Sharing information isn’t anything new, as Gustin frequently gave Cooney pointers at the track.

“Ryan gives me advice all the time,” Cooney said. “Even before we made this deal, he came over and gave me some advice here and there. I think it’ll help me tremendously. He’ll be a little more in touch with me during the week, and it’ll make it to where I understand this a little better.”

Those notes are something Cooney hopes will make him better in 2024, as one of his struggles was racing at new tracks. It’ll be a challenge Cooney will need to overcome next season, with 16 new venues on the 2024 schedule.

However, with Gustin as his teammate, he’s looking forward to continue racing with the best drivers dirt Late Model racing has to offer.

“It wasn’t as bad as it probably looked or as I felt we were,” Cooney said. “It’s just a learning curve. And the reason I want to do this so bad is because I feel these are the best racecar drivers in the country, and that’s who I like to compete against.”

As Cooney aims to improve off his 2023 season, Gustin still has the same mindset after his best World of Outlaws season statistically. He earned three victories, 12 top fives, and 22 top 10s—putting him in a heated battle for fourth in the standings entering the season’s final weekend.
