Short Race Day for Hart at Stampede of Speed

DALLAS (October 12, 2025) — At one of the biggest races of the NHRA Countdown for the Championship Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team were looking to make a move towards their first Top Fuel world championship. After two days of qualifying in front of packed grandstands at Texas Motorplex’s Stampede of Speed and Texas Fall Nationals the driver and team owner from Florida had his race day cut short by Texan Steve Torrence in the first round.

Hart was the No. 10 qualifier after posting his quickest qualifying time of 3.740 seconds at 330.79 mph during the spectacular JEGS Friday Night Live! qualifying round. In the third qualifying session on Saturday morning Hart made the quickest run of the session and earned three qualifying bonus points. The team was confident heading into race day.

When Hart and Torrence rolled up for the first round, they were the final pair of 12,000-horsepowered Top Fuel dragsters. Hart was the first off the starting line with a reaction time advantage of .072 to .087 seconds. The lead lasted for the first third of the race when the R+L Carriers race car overpowered the track and while Hart was trying to pedal his race car Torrence was out in front. Torrence also ran into traction issues, but he was able to hold on for the round win.

Hart continued to establish himself as one of the best drivers off the starting line and the tricky track conditions derailed his race car’s mechanical performance. Hart has consistently talked about his confidence in his crew and their determination to succeed at the highest level of NHRA drag racing.

“I know my crew guys on this R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster are amazing,” saif Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “These races are so tough, and the sport is so humbling. I am blessed to be able to come out here and chase my dream. Steve is a great champion and we just didn’t have things go our way today.”

Hart will leave Dallas in 10th place in the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series championship point standings. He will head to the final two national events set for Las Vegas, Nevada, and Pomona, California, looking to end the season with a win and have an impact on the championship outcome. Since his rookie season Hart has been known as a fierce competitor and tough matchup in the final two races of the Countdown.

“We are going to these final two races looking for more national event wins,” said Hart. “The other Countdown contending cars know we are going to give them our best. The best thing about finishing the season in Las Vegas and Pomona is there will be huge crowds and the pressure will be big. I thrive in those types of environments.”

In addition to his on-track performance Hart was also spending time with the Burnyzz Speed Shop display at the Texas Fall Nationals. The high-performance speed shop and custom car purveyor showed off several high-end classic cars all weekend. Burnyzz Speed Shop, based in Ocala, Florida, is looking to expand nationally in 2026 and they have been using NHRA national events to showcase their amazing collection of classic cars.

“We are excited about the future of Burnyzz Speed Shop and our expansion plan for sure,” said Hart. “The NHRA is a great marketing opportunity and when you can combine high performance racing and high performance classic and custom cars, that is pretty awesome.”

Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will be back on track for the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals, October 30 – November 2, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Chris King Continues to Chase Dream on Biggest Stage in Texas

DALLAS (October 12, 2025) — The Stampede of Speed and the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals is recognized as one of the biggest motorsports events not just in Texas but across the country. The 10-day event encompasses country music concerts, bull riding and NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series championship racing as part of the 6-race playoff Countdown. Driver and team owner Chris King brought his Funny Car team from Chicago, Illinois, to the Lone Star State to compete against the best of the best. The Howards Cams Competition Product Funny Car rolled into the Texas Motorplex on Wednesday in preparation for the four-day national event.

Through two days of qualifying King held tough securing the No. 16 qualifier spot going into the final round of qualifying on Saturday. During the final session King was bumped out of the top 16 and in his last-ditch effort to get back into the field came up a few hundredths of a second short. The full-time Chicago firefighter wound up No. 17 when the session concluded.

“We had to get aggressive in the final qualifying session to try and get around Blake (Alexander),” said King. “We just gave it a little too much. My crew guys busted their tails all weekend and my crew chief Bob Peck was great. It is just really, really tough out here running with these full-time teams.”

While the on-track performance was not what King expected, his pre-race involvement was incredibly busy. On Wednesday night King was one of the featured drivers at the Texas Fall Nationals Champions Dinner, celebrating the former winners of the prestigious national event. On Thursday night King joined almost all his fellow professional competitors at the annual Prestage Fanfest event in downtown Waxahachie, Texas, at Railyard Park. King signed autographs, posed for photos and talked with fans from across the country at the free family friendly event.

“The Champions Dinner was amazing,” said King. “The Meyer family and their team did a great job and it was cool to just hang out with so many Texas Fall Nationals race winners and other drivers. The Thursday night fan fest was one of the biggest events like this on tour and there were fans everywhere. I signed a ton of hero cards and got to talk with lots of fans. The whole experience was just very cool.”

King will head into the off-season looking at his 2026 racing options. For the past several seasons he has been presenting sponsors with tremendous value on and off the track at NHRA national events. This season he continued to impress at events in Chicago, Norwalk, Ohio, the prestigious U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis and this weekend at the Texas Fall Nationals outside of Dallas.

King plans on making several sponsor appearances at the PRI Show in Indianapolis December 11-13, 2025 at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

KALITTA EXTENDS POINTS LEAD WITH TEXAS FALL NATIONALS VICTORY

Earns fourth win of 2025 and 59th of his career

ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 12, 2025) – Doug Kalitta extended his Top Fuel points lead by winning the Texas Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex on Sunday, his fourth of the season, second consecutive, and 59th of his career. The win puts Kalitta 141 points ahead with just two races remaining as he inches closer to a second career world championship. The win by Kalitta is also the 10th Top Fuel win in the last 11 races for Toyota, who extended its consecutive final rounds made streak across Top Fuel or Funny Car to 15 on Sunday.

Kalitta had to defeat Toyota teammate and Texas native Steve Torrence, who made his final start of the 2025 season this weekend. The result was Torrence’s second final round of 2025. Shawn Langdon (semifinals) and Justin Ashley (second round) were the other Toyota Top Fuel Dragsters to advance out of round one in Top Fuel on Sunday.

In Funny Car, Ron Capps made the final round and was within reach of his second race victory this season after having to switch to a backup GR Supra body after round one. The fifth final round of 2025 by Capps today keeps him fourth in the Funny Car points standings heading to Las Vegas.

The NHRA Countdown to the Championship continues at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with eliminations on Sunday, November 2.

An eventful day. How would you assess the day, weekend and what’s your outlook heading into Las Vegas?

“Just one of those gut check days for the NAPA Auto Care Toyota guys. It was driver error in the first round, but we got by. Unfortunately, damaged the NAPA Toyota GR Supra Funny Car body – not badly, as it’s fixable, but we couldn’t run it second round. We brought out the Carlyle Tools body which we’re going to run in Las Vegas and we were hoping to get a win there. It was cool that a lot of fans have bought our Carlyle shirts and, I guess the positive thing is, they got to see the Carlyle car in-person make the final round today. Strange in the final. Prock poked his nose out there, but the car felt like it was running well. We came in, wanting to make up ground in the points and we had to, and that’s exactly what we did. So proud of our NAPA Toyota team and let’s see if we can keep this momentum going into Las Vegas.”

Whit Gastineau Goes Back-to-Back for Weekend Sweep of Salt City Speedway

HUTCHINSON, KS (Oct. 11, 2025) — Coming into the weekend to face the national stars of the American Sprint Car Series, Whit Gastineau knew he had the means to beat the touring regulars.

In two nights of racing, he beat them twice.

The 41-year-old from Moore, OK, scored his first career Series victory at Salt City Speedway on Friday night, then turned around on Saturday and did it again, passing Brady Baker for the lead on Lap 10 and holding on for a clean sweep of the Series’ final race weekend of the season in Kansas.

As one of Oklahoma’s top regional/local talents, Gastineau races on only a part-time basis. But this weekend, he showed exactly what he and his team have been capable of all season long with the domination of their full-time opponents.

“There’s lots of times we didn’t have the car as good as we needed, but we’ve been good all year,” Gastineau said. “No matter what car we’ve been in — the 360, the two-barrel or the 305 — we’re fast every time we go out. We show up expecting to win, expecting to be top-five, for sure.”

On Friday, it was all Gastineau, leading every lap en route to the win. Saturday brought 18-year-old Rookie of the Year contender Brady Baker to the lead from the outside pole in the opening laps while polesitter Gastineau chased him around the half-mile oval.

The two caught the tail of the field as the race neared the halfway point, and when Baker slowed his pace, Gastineau closed the gap and looked for a way to get by. Carrying great speed down the backstretch, Gastineau drove deep into Turn 3 on Lap 10 and threw a slidejob on Baker to take the top spot.

“I didn’t know if I was gonna get to him or not,” Gastineau said. “I was just doing my best and trying different lines, just something different than he was. That’s when I found that top and I could tell it wasn’t bad.

“I just knew that I had to drive it harder into 3 than him and slide up in front of him and then go from there.”

Gastineau took command out front, but Baker did not immediately go away. The young Arkansas racer found the top lane to his liking, picked up more speed and went side-by-side with Gastineau on Lap 14. But the veteran held him off, using his speed and grip in the bottom lane to drive away from the challenge, off to his second career Series win.

Baker hung on for a second-place result, which tied his best career Series finish that he earned at Batesville Motor Speedway in June.

“I got to the early lead and I thought I was checked out, and I just got too patient with the lapped cars,” Baker said. “I was trying to run my own pace, not trying to get in their air. I didn’t know how close they were behind me, and then Whit got by me.

“We almost got door-to-door and then, going down the straightaway, I got in his dirty air and he pulled back away from me.”

Matt Covington completed the podium in the third position, collecting his eighth podium finish of the season.

“Our car was pretty good, I maybe got it a little too left-rear tight and I was fighting it a little bit, but so was Baker in front of me,” Covington said. “Our cars looked pretty similar. A pretty good run for those guys; a great weekend for Whit. A pretty good weekend for ourselves.”

Series points leader Sam Hafertepe Jr. crossed the stripe in fourth, while Kansas native Zach Blurton completed the top five, earning the Hard Charger honors in his drive from ninth up to fifth place.

DJ NETTO SCORES HUGE WIN AT ANTIOCH AND PADS NARC POINT LEAD!

(10/11/25 – Andrew Kunas) Antioch, CA … D.J. Netto had a big night in his quest for his second NARC sprint car championship when he took Saturday’s feature at Antioch Speedway and added to his points lead, and also ended an extended winless streak in the process.

Netto led all 30 laps for his ninth career NARC victory and was rarely challenged throughout. At one point Netto did get passed by Dominic Scelzi for the lead on an early restart that was called back for another car stopping. Netto took advantage of that break and mastered his remaining restarts, and there were several of them as there were four red flags for cars going upside down on a challenging night.

Scelzi continued trying to go after Netto, but eventually suffered a mishap on another restart and flipped his car upside down. That handed the second position over to Dominic Gorden. Netto entered traffic in the closing laps as Gorden tried to close in along with Jesse Schlotfeldt but they eventually ran out of time before they could take any shot at Netto for the win.

The win was Netto’s third on the season aboard the Penny Newman Grain-sponsored Netto Ag No. 88n Rider-powered KPC, and it came five months after Netto’s second win, which also came at Antioch Speedway in May. Happy to end the drought, Netto popped a wheelie on the front stretch and then climbed atop his car to celebrate with the fans. Netto increased his narrow lead to 12 points over Sean Becker, who finished fourth.

Gorden, who set fast time in qualifying earlier in the evening, settled for second aboard the Silva’s All Natural Beef-sponsored Fortitude Driver Development No. 10 Rider-powered Maxim. Schlotfeldt, visiting from Washington, earned the Williams Roofing Hard Charger nod, coming from 13th to get on the podium in his first visit to Antioch Speedway aboard the Grinder’s Automotive & Marine-sponsored JRS Motorsports No. 21 Shark-powered Triple X.

Becker maintained his second place points standing with his fourth place finish aboard the D&J Construction Rental Equipment-sponsored Bjork Construction No. 7b Shaver-powered Maxim. Max Mittry recovered from a mishap of his own on the initial start and came back to finish fifth aboard the Shasta Realty Group-sponsored Mittry Construction No. 19 Shark-powered KPC. Mittry changed the car number to 19 for the night to honor Chuck Wolf, who had recently passed away. Cannon McIntosh, Tim Kaeding, Dylan Bloomfield, Jake Andreotti and Billy Aton rounded out the Top 10.

Heat races earlier in the evening were won by Mittry, Netto and Scelzi. Netto topped Scelzi in the Beacon Wealth Strategies – Raymond James Trophy Dash to secure the pole position for the main event.

Gorden paced the 18-car field in Automotive Racing Products Qualifying with a time of 12.142 seconds  around the 3/8-mile clay oval.

Gustin Outduels Pierce for $50,000 in Bayou Classic at Boothill

GREENWOOD, LA (October 11, 2025) – Saturday night at Boothill Speedway, the Louisiana facility proved to the world why it’s the home of dirt Late Model racing’s newest marquee event.

A star-studded field of drivers. A grandstand overflowing with fans. Some of the most entertaining racing found anywhere in the nation. And when the Bayou Classic was all set and done, it was Ryan Gustin on top for the fifth time this season with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision.

Between his $50,000 victory at Boothill, his $100,000 payday for winning the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway and three prior World of Outlaws wins, those five triumphs in 2025 have netted the Cooney Motorsports team more than $180,000. But outside of those nights, the season has brought its share of struggles. In 10 Series starts after winning at Cedar Lake, Gustin failed to finish better than sixth until his return to Victory Lane at Boothill.

“I’ve had my head hung pretty low for the past couple months, really,” Gustin said. “We ain’t been running good, and just when you’re struggling, it takes a mental toll on you. When you get down, it’s hard to get back up. When you win 50 grand in that fashion, it makes you feel pretty good.”

The results sheet show a win from the pole for the Marshalltown, IA native, but the 70 laps between the green and checkered flags were anything but an easy cruise. Third-starting Brian Shirley gave Gustin everything he could handle in the first half of the race, while Dennis Erb Jr. loomed close behind, ready to pounce if either of them slipped up.

With 25 laps remaining, a new contender entered the picture in the form of Bobby Pierce. After disposing of Erb around the outside, Pierce rode the rim up to Shirley’s back bumper and caught the No. 3S with 11 to go. A huge head of steam off Turn 4 allowed Pierce to go to Shirley’s inside entering Turn 1, but Shirley was headed for the same piece of real estate, resulting in contact that sent Shirley spinning off Pierce’s nose.

From that point forward, both Gustin and Pierce left it all on the track over the final 10 laps in pursuit of the victory. The two traded sliders and crossovers nearly every corner, and it was still anyone’s race at the white flag. Pierce ripped the cushion for all it was worth trying to get to Gustin’s outside, but tagged the wall in Turn 2 instead, giving Gustin enough room to survive one more set of corners and take the checkered flag.

“Honestly, it kind of reminded me of the last King of America USMTS race we won,” said the former Modified standout. “Just go up there, come back down, try to momentum. Try to hit the brown spots where you can and then propel yourself so you don’t land in the slick.”

Pierce’s quest for his first Series win since August will have to wait until World of Outlaws World Finals after coming home second on the third-straight occasion in World of Outlaws competition at Boothill.

“Gustin hit his marks perfectly on that last lap,” Pierce said. “We were side-by-side at the white flag, we were rubbing down the frontstretch. Went into Turn 1, and I thought I had him when he slid in there. I didn’t really get a great entrance into Turn 1 and there wasn’t really much cushion until you got to Turn 2 and that’s the spot he was in. I got right there, and then he was kind of right where I needed to be.”

Erb crossed the line third for his eighth Series podium of the year, enough to put himself in a tie with Shirley for fifth in the standings going into The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

“It was just off a little bit,” Erb said. “Had a pretty good car, but we needed to work on getting up off the corner a little bit better. I know we went a little softer on tires than everybody else did, but to come home with third, we’re happy with that.”

Cody Overton backed up his Friday podium with a fourth-place showing on Saturday, while Shirley recovered from his spin to finish fifth.

CORVETTE RACING AT PETIT LE MANS: Titles and Podiums!

GTD PRO championships and podiums plus Akin Award for AWA in IMSA finale BRASELTON, Ga. (October 11, 2025) – Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports capped an incredible day at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with a pair of podium finishes to go along with a GTD PRO championship sweep at the 10-hour Petit Le Mans on Saturday.
Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone placed second in class with their No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, just ahead of the GTD PRO Drivers Championship pairing of Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims plus Daniel Juncadella in the No. 3 Corvette. It marked the first double-podium for the Pratt Miller Corvette squad since 2008. The result didn’t just secure the class Drivers Championship but also the Manufacturers Championship for Chevrolet and the Teams’ title for the No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports group.Corvette Racing Media Resources Documents | Statistics | Photos | Factory Driver Bios | Chevrolet Newsroom
The No. 4 Corvette raced back into contention following an early-race bad break when Catsburg had to stop for a splash of fuel when the pits were closed under a full-course yellow. He stopped a couple of laps later still under yellow and handed off to Milner, who stopped again a lap later behind the safety car for a top-off and what the team hoped would be a fuel advantage later in the race. It came to fruition after Milner’s stint as Varrone cycled through to the lead during a long green-flag run past the halfway point. More caution-free laps helped the No. 4 Corvette’s cause as Catsburg drove the final two hours to the finish. On the No. 3 Corvette side, the focus was to finish ahead of the No. 81 Ferrari – the closest competitor for the class championship. Garcia began eighth but couldn’t gain much ground on the No. 81 given nearly 30 minutes of full-course yellow in the race. Garcia drove the first three hours and handed over to Sims with the Corvette in the top-five but still behind the Ferrari. That changed just after the four-hour mark when the No. 3 Corvette team got Sims in and out of the pitlane quicker than their championship rivals. The two cars ran close together for the next two-and-a-half hours before the Corvette moved ahead for good with three hours to go.
In GTD, AWA celebrated winning both the season-long Bob Akin Award and taking the race’s Akin trophy with the No. 13 Corvette Z06 GT3.R as the highest-finishing GTD car with a Bronze-rated driver. Orey Fidani, who teamed with Matt Bell and Lars Kern, won his second straight Akin championship and a return trip to next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The trio finished ninth in class after starting 19th to cap a season that began with a class victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. DXDT Racing’s trio of Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell and Salih Yoluc likewise raced through the field to finish seventh in GTD. Their No. 36 Corvette began 17th but Yoluc drove a triple-stint at the front – same as Fidani – to open up the strategy options. Udell and Eastwood split the mid-race driving before Eastwood went to the end and wrapped up the team’s first season in IMSA.
CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R POST-RACE DRIVER QUOTESANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “This was really tight. I would have liked a more relaxed fight with not around 10 points between us! It was a very tight race. We turned things around between qualifying and now. I knew the car was there since Lap One. We just needed to stay focused and keep getting places. We didn’t have the pace to pass people on track, but we did a fantastic job… saving fuel, doing everything right, gaining positions and taking every opportunity where we could. So six championships! It’s a group effort. That doesn’t happen without Corvette Racing and all the teammates I’ve had over the past 16 years.”
ALEXANDER SIMS, NO. 3 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “It’s incredibly intense here at Petit Le Mans every single time I do it. But it’s so thrilling. The track is just amazing… such a nice sequence of corners and so many cars means that all the traffic keeps you on your toes. Our Corvette was working well all day and all season. We’ve had a phenomenal year. Pratt Miller has executed a fantastic championship.  We optimized pretty much everything we could every single time. Full credit to the whole team. Amazing to do it with Antonio and Dani. We had a good year last year finishing third in the championship. To go to first place this year is absolutely phenomenal.”
DANIEL JUNCADELLA, NO. 3 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “This is mega. I’ve only been a small part of this season. But it’s nice to play a role in the last race. It’s a big race for everybody. Finishing on the podium and helping these guys clinch a championship was the big goal. It’s been great to be a part of that.”
TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “It’s a great day for Corvette Racing, Pratt Miller and Chevy. It went about as well as it could have for us. I’m super happy for Antonio and Alex, and Dani as well helping with that. Those guys were basically perfect all year long. That’s what it takes in this championship. Congrats to those guys. It’s a whole team effort, though. You look at it and all the 4 car guys celebrate it just as much as the 3 car guys. It’s a great morale booster for everyone. For us, the race today was good. P2 was about as good as it was going to get for us. The BMW had a little too much pace on us. But overall a really great day.”
NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “We achieved everything we wanted to achieve. It would have been great to finally have a Petit win but the BMW was one size too big for us today. I had some really cool and clean fights with Dan Harper. I’m very pleased with the job that the team did. We had a cool season. We won everything we wanted as a team. So I’m looking forward to next year already.”
NICO VARRONE, NO. 4 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “This was a great weekend for everyone. I was really looking forward to coming here and racing again with Corvette. This is like a family for me. Finishing with both cars on the podium is great. We had a great race for P2 and had great pace. Not enough to fight with the BMW, but we executed well and maximized our potential. A big thank you to all the team and all the crew. Our Corvette was really flying. Tommy and Nicky did a great job as always in setting up the car. It was super-fast in the race. Overall this is a great day for Corvette, Chevy and the team. Sure we wanted to win the race but today it wasn’t possible so we’re happy to finish second. Hopefully next year we can finish in a better spot.”
MATT BELL, NO. 13 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Fantastic end of the season for AWA. I’m really proud to be heading back to France. That was our goal coming into this year and this race. It was a shame for the No. 70 that they were taken out of contention the way they were; they’ve been great competitors all season and we have huge respect for each other, and we wanted to go toe to toe all the way to the end. But of course we wanted to go back to France, so I’m super happy about achieving that. It was a really good race and we had really good pace. It was a nice way to finish with the top-10 and now I guess I need to learn a bit of French!”
OREY FIDANI, NO. 13 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I couldn’t be happier or more proud of the way we performed this season. We knew from the get-go that we wanted to go back to Le Mans, and we knew we would have to work incredibly hard to achieve it, but that’s exactly what we set out to do. We all have an immense amount of respect for everyone at Inception Racing, and we had a great time going up against them this season. I’m thrilled that we’re going back to France, and now with some extra knowledge and experience on our side, we’ll be ready to put up a good fight with Chevy.”
CORVETTE RACING AT PETIT LE MANS: Titles and Podiums!GTD PRO championships and podiums plus Akin Award for AWA in IMSA finale BRASELTON, Ga.
LARS KERN, NO. 13 CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Winning the Bob Akin Award is a great way to end the season. We worked for this all year. Though it’s not the way we wanted to win it. We always said we wanted to win it on track. I feel really sorry for the No. 70 car and the whole Inception Racing group.”We went all-in in the race and had a great time. We needed a full-course yellow within the last five hours, but there wasn’t any, which was a testament to the clean racing. It was good racing, but in the end, we were just always running behind the gap. I am really happy for Orey and the team. We are going back to Le Mans, which was the target of the season. We’ll finish on the podium of this race next year!”

Cadillac finishes season with flurry

The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac, campaigned by Action Express Racing, owns two Petit Le Mans wins (2019 in DPi era).
“Congratulations to Cadillac Racing and the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R on their win in the 28th Motul Petit Le Mans. The overall victory showcases the deep capabilities and determination of the Cadillac Racing team,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac. “Drivers Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti and every single member of the team can be proud of today’s victory. Racing is in our DNA and showcases our innovation while helping us develop future technologies for our cars and customers.” The No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, with Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque and Will Stevens sharing driving duties on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta road course, finished sixth. Jordan Taylor, Louis Deletraz and Norman Nato combined to drive the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R to eighth place after starting 11th in the 12-car GTP field. The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R was quickest in two daylight practice sessions, earned a front row start, led the most laps led, set the quickest lap of the race and had flawless pit stops, which all combined to secure the hard-fought victory. Three weeks earlier at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Aitken relieved Bamber and held off multiple challenges while driving the final 82 minutes to register the team’s 30th IMSA victory and Cadillac’s first at the Brickyard. At Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Bamber took over from Aitken with the lead and raced the final 1 hour, 59 minutes under the green flag. He prevailed by 5.182 seconds following a splash of fuel with 13 minutes left.
The result vaulted Aitken to second in the full-season Driver Championship and Action Express Racing to second in the Team Championship.

What they’re saying
No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R
Ricky Taylor: “Tough day. This weekend we came in with high expectations. The drivers all felt that good and the team executed well all day. We just didn’t have the pace of the lead group. Congratulations to our Cadillac teammates, Whelen and Action Express. Looking forward to the off season, when we can review a year’s worth of data and information. We are going to be on track quite a bit this off season, so looking forward to starting 2026 with a nice booklet of information.”                          Filipe Albuquerque: ““Hard race. Hard season. Perhaps more than we expected it to be. In the night, the car came a little bit alive, but I think we may have followed a wrong strategy when we pitted more than the other guys. We gave our best. We learned a lot about the car this year. We improved a lot through the season. There were definitely moments of greatness but then we would get struck with a weekend where we didn’t understand the lack of pace in the car. We need some work to do especially with the new chockers and tires for next year. We have already begun our work for next year. Congratulations to Cadillac Whelen on their win.” Will Stevens: “We had hoped to finish the season on a high. I think we still battled through and fought ad scored valuable points this weekend, which is important. I think as a whole the team has made good momentum. I think now the focus just needs to be on making improvements. There is a bit of time now before Daytona, so it is just important review the information and to come back stronger for next year.”
No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R
Jack Aitken: “The way Earl finished, the way Fred came in and held the lead, it shows the depth that we have in the team that we’re really confident and we all put in great stints today. All did a huge job to hold off the competition and manage the strategy, manage the fuel and the Whelen Cadillac was on fire today. We were able to lead and that was the game plan coming into today — to do it just like at Indy. So, I’m really pleased that we finish the year in such an awesome way and roll into 2026.” Earl Bamber: “Any one of us could have done it, any stint of the day. It shows the strength of the team. It shows what we set out to do at the beginning of the year with Whelen Cadillac — to build something really special. And I think what we’ve done this season — we could have won a couple more races, came close, were in position — but we’ll definitely take two of the biggest of the season. The guys are fantastic in the pit lane, the cars are amazingly quick at Cadillac, so it makes our job easy on track. I think we’re building up something special here, and now we’re just looking forward to what comes next.” Frederik Vesti: “Just extremely proud of this team. We joined forces at the beginning of this year, and we didn’t have the easiest start to the championship. But the way we’ve grown together, the way we’ve been working together really shows and we deserve it so much. Winning Indy was big, but now winning Petit — one of the most historical races in the endurance world — that’s incredible. Very proud of everyone.”No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R
Jordan Taylor: “Not a good day for us. We had some good stints and some bad stints, but, at the end of the day, we did not get a good result which is unfortunate. We learned a lot this year with this car, so hopefully we can have a good off season, test and develop more and come back strong next year.” Louis Deletraz: “A huge thank you to Cadillac and Wayne Taylor Racing for this year. It has been tough. I do not think there are any other words. We have had a lot of learning with this car. We had a double podium at the Glen which was the highlight of our year. Very excited to take all our learnings and work hard for next year to come and win.” Norman Nato: “It was a great experience coming back to IMSA after eight years. It was my first and now this time at Petit. It was great to be back. What an incredible race. Obviously, we are a disappointed with the race. We tried our best to the finish line. It was just not enough today unfortunately. It was great to be back in IMSA and to work with Wayne Taylor Racing. I can’t wait to do more. We tried our best today, but it wasn’t enough. We will work to try and come back stronger.”

CONCRETE COMEBACK: Anthony Macri Overcomes Injury, Tames Lincoln to Score Another Victory for the PA Posse

The Dillsburg, PA native didn’t know he’d be able to race until Thursday evening due to an injury, and he ends the weekend in Victory Lane

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (October 11, 2025) – Anthony Macri didn’t even know he’d be able to race this weekend until Thursday night.

A back injury sustained three weeks ago had sidelined him. The Dillsburg, PA native was forced to watch his home state’s crown jewel, the J&S Classics National Open, last week. The itch to get back behind the wheel grew and grew. Finally, medical clearance came Thursday evening, and he climbed aboard the Macri Motorsports No. 39M.

The result? A trip to World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Victory Lane. Macri got reacquainted with the seat on Friday at New Egypt Speedway before a flat tire derailed his night. Then Saturday shifted the scene to home territory for the Pennsylvania Posse star, Abbottstown, PA’s Lincoln Speedway.

Macri advanced from fourth to second in the Toyota Dash to line himself up on the front row for the 35-lap finale. Polesitter David Gravel crossed over a Macri slider and led the first lap, but a yellow on the second circuit gave Macri another shot. This time, Macri opted to rip the fence in Turns 1 and 2, and it paid off as he rocketed around Gravel to take the top spot.

The early laps unfolded, and Carson Macedo quickly asserted himself as a contender as he moved by Gravel for second and closed on Macri. But the engine expired on the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41, ending his night. That elevated Chase Dietz into second, and the York, PA native took a couple peeks under the No. 39M but didn’t have enough. Macri pulled ahead in traffic on his way to Victory Lane.

It was a special night for the 26-year-old. Not only did he get a win so quicky after his injury, he also was victorious on the night Lincoln was celebrating the life of Bobby Allen, who passed away on Sunday, and had a major impact on Pennsylvania, a member of Macri’s team, and the sport as a whole.

“I’m not 100-percent physically,” Macri admitted. “I was getting winded. I could tell I was out of the seat for three weeks. I just kind of had to concentrate on my breathing and pace myself. Going into this weekend, I was honestly just hoping for a top five.

“What better car than a PA car to win the Bobby Allen race. I wanted it for the hometown people. Jacob (Allen) and Logan (Schuchart), our hearts go out to them. I wanted to win it for Joe Mooney (his crew chief) bad too. They (Shark Racing, Allen’s team) had a big part in him getting into Sprint Car racing. He started his career there, and Joe wouldn’t be where he is today without them.”

Macri’s win was his 15th overall Sprint Car checkered flag in 2025 and fourth with The Greatest Show on Dirt. He also secured bragging rights for the Posse as the locals topped four of the six battles against the World of Outlaws in 2025, and Macri was responsible for three of them. His one triumph outside of Pennsylvania against the country’s best Sprint Car drivers was at Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal in July.

The Posse also owned the second step of the podium as it went to Chase Dietz in the Stehman Motorsports No. 23D. He was also the runner-up at Lincoln in May when the World of Outlaws came to town. Add those two results to his win last Friday at Williams Grove Speedway, and he wound up with a trio of top threes in 2025 against the nation’s top talent.

“We were doing such a good job on those restarts,” Dietz said. “I just needed to get close enough. I just kind of drove up to the side of him, and really at that point it’s just a matter of him making a mistake. But he’s been in that position too often, and he didn’t make any mistakes there.”

Third belonged to Michael “Buddy” Kofoid aboard the Roth Motorsports No. 83 as the Penngrove, CA native was the only World of Outlaws representation on the podium. The big story for the 23-year-old was David Gravel’s troubles. The defending champion slowed with issues under the hood after 12 laps and was unable to get out of the Federated Car Care Work Zone. That combined with Kofoid’s finish allowed him to cut Gravel’s advantage atop the standings from 148 markers to 106. Championship hope stayed alive for Kofoid with eight races to go.

“I felt good,” Kofoid said. “It’s funny because I started fourth, got to third, kind of raced for second, and then back to fourth back to third back to fourth. I was kind of back and forth. I felt good. I just needed longer runs. I felt like I couldn’t really get going on the short runs and just struggled a little bit. The car would like come back to life as the runs went on.”

Sheldon Haudenschild and Troy Wagaman Jr. completed the top five.

Tyler Ross went from 26th to 13th to earn the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger.

Anthony Macri claimed his second Simpson Quick Time of 2025 and the eighth of his career in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying.

Heat Races belonged to Anthony Macri (NOS Energy Drink Heat One), Buddy Kofoid (Real American Beer Heat Two), David Gravel (WIX Filters Heat Three), and Carson Macedo (TheGreatestStoreonDirt.com Heat Four).

The SPA Technique #1 Redraw went to Chad Trout.

David Gravel topped the Toyota Dash.

Cole Macedo won the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown.

The Smith Titanium Brake Systems Break of the Race went to David Gravel

PROCK, BECKMAN QUALIFY 1st AND 3rd, FORCE 6th FOR NHRA TEXAS FALL NATIONALSAll three will have lane choice in Sunday’s first round of eliminations
ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 11, 2025) – John Force Racing’s Austin Prock, Jack Beckman and Brittany Force held on to their qualifying positions from Friday night’s runs and will have lane choice for Sunday’s first round of eliminations for the 40th NHRA Mission Foods Texas Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. Prock earned his sixth No. 1 qualifying spot of the 2025 season from Friday night’s run of 3.876 seconds at 336.07 mph. The Jimmy Prock/Thomas Prock/Nate Hildahl-led team backed up that run with Saturday’s runs in the heat of 3.998 seconds at 326.44 mph and 3.934 seconds at 330.18 mph. Prock will line up the Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car against No. 16 qualifier Blake Alexander (4.124/309.38) in Sunday’s first round of eliminations. Beckman maintained the third spot on the ladder with his Friday night run in the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS Funny Car of 3.892 seconds at 330.83 mph. The PEAK SQUAD, led by Daniel Hood, Chris Cunningham and Tim Fabrisi, ran 4.021 seconds at 309.83 mph in Saturday’s first session. Then, in the final qualifying session, a malfunction in the timing system started the clock in Beckman’s lane despite the car not moving, which then affected his reaction time to the tree and resulted in a lap of 4.800 seconds at 327.77 mph. Beckman will face No. 14 qualifier Dave Richards (4.074/316.81) in Sunday’s first round of eliminations. Force had four very competitive and consistent rounds of qualifying, capped off with Friday night’s run of 3.703 seconds at 340.57 mph, her 11th 340-mph run of the season and the first in Texas Motorplex history. In addition to the run that put her sixth in the qualifying order, the Dave Grubnic/John Collins-led team provided her with runs of  3.874 seconds at 329.79 mph in Q1, 3.863 seconds at 331.32 in Q3 and 3.845 seconds at 330.69 mph in Q4. The two-time NHRA Top Fuel Champion will face NO. 11 qualifier Tony Schumacher (3.745/335.50) in Sunday’s first round of eliminations. Final eliminations are scheduled for 10 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, Oct. 12. Quotes from Brittany Force, Monster Energy Top Fuel Dragster: “The Monster Energy team has been very consistent all week long. We’ve gone down the racetrack clean every single lap. We’ve run consistently in the 3.80s and the 3.70 in the Friday night session. So, we’re in a good position qualifying sixth and we line up with Tony Schumacher tomorrow morning. Our plan is to go some rounds on race day. We’ve been out of the winner’s circle since Epping in June, so we’d love to do it here at the Texas Motorplex.” Quotes from Austin Prock, Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car: “The points are so close right now, so we just have to focus on going out and winning every race that’s left,” Prock said. “Whoever wins the most in this next three-race shootout is going to be world champion. We’ve got to focus on our race car and what we’re doing, and right now, our race car looks good. We need to get as many of those (wins) as we can. “I feel like our two runs today were more impressive than our run last night, getting down the racetrack efficiently and quickly and a few hundredths ahead of the field definitely feels good.” Quotes from Jack Beckman, PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS Funny Car: ‘In three of the four qualifying runs, our PEAK Chevy was quick enough to be a top three car. We’ll have lane choice tomorrow against Dave Richards and that car runs consistent. At this point, the quickest session almost certainly will be first round tomorrow. We start an hour earlier than we normally would here, and it’s just going to get hotter from that point on. So, we know we have enough car to outrun Richards oi both teams perform at their best, but we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves. We’re looking to protect lane choice for tomorrow, so we have to be aggressive first round. TV ScheduleTelevision coverage on Sunday, Oct. 12, includes qualifying action on FS1 from 10 a.m. – noon ET and then eliminations coverage on FOX from 2-4 p.m. ET and 4:30-6:30 p.m. ET.

Berry Qualifies 29th at Las Vegas

Josh Berry and the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustang Dark Horse will start Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from 29th place.

Berry, who earned his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory at the track earlier this season, posted a lap of 180.548 miles per hour in Saturday’s qualifying session.

In practice before qualifying, Berry ranked 34th on the speed chart with a best lap of 176.390 mph on his fourth of 35 laps. Among drivers who ran 10 consecutive laps, he was 28th best with an average speed of 175.292 mph from Laps 2–11.

Berry told reporters at Las Vegas that he and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team are working hard to end the season on a high note.

“We’re just going each and every week and trying to perform the best we can,” he said. “We obviously want to do what we can to learn about our cars and help Ryan and Joey as much as we can through these last few races.

“But for us we just want to string together some solid runs and finish the season strong. The guys have been doing a really good job, and we’re just trying to build some momentum for next year.”

Berry also said conditions have changed since he won at Las Vegas in March.

“We’re on a different tire that we ran at Kansas and a couple of times before that,” he said. “So it’s a little bit different tire, so we’re trying to take what we learned there and apply that to here the best we can.

“Obviously the weather is different too, but I would say it’s fairly similar, but we’ve tried to adjust for the tire and the weather and hopefully get it right.”

Sunday’s 267-lap, 400.5-mile race is scheduled to take the green flag just after 5:30 p.m. ET on USA Network. Stage breaks are planned for Laps 80 and 165.

How has the weekend been so far and what are you looking forward to tomorrow?

“Great qualifying effort from the NAPA Auto Care Toyota team! Any time we can get in the top half of the field for Sunday, you get lane choice and that’s always a goal, and to be No. 2 is helpful. This track, as hot as it is, it’s very difficult to negotiate as a driver so the Toyota GR Supra Funny Car body has been very nice to have, especially when we get into the heat of the day that we’ll see tomorrow. It’s going to be tough. This is the time of the year where you have to make a run for a world championship, and this race always has something to say about who will do it. We’re looking to have the success we’ve had here in the past as we had back-to-back wins on the way to back-to-back championships. We’ll see if we can get that going again.”

Whit Gastineau Goes Flag-to-Flag at Salt City for First Career National ASCS Win

HUTCHINSON, KS (Oct. 10, 2025) — For the first time, in a career spanning over two decades, Whit Gastineau is an American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Feature winner.

The 41-year-old from Moore, OK, has been a winner of many regional 305 and 360 Sprint Car events in the past, establishing himself as one of Oklahoma’s standout local names. But Friday at Salt City Speedway was his night to shine on the national stage, leading all 20 laps around the historic half-mile oval on the Kansas State Fairgrounds and capturing one of the biggest wins of his career.

Blake Hahn. Sam Hafertepe Jr. Matt Covington. The three drivers that finished behind Gastineau have been the top three drivers in the points championship chase for the majority of the season, combining for 15 Feature wins. But Gastineau left them behind.

“I always knew we could beat them,” Gastineau said. “For the longest time, I didn’t have the equipment to run with them. I can’t thank Jim Ellison enough. I’ve raced as long or longer than all of these guys, but for the longest time, I just didn’t have the equipment to do it.

“We all have jobs, so we come out and race when we can. We’ve got kids and sporting events and all that, so we just kinda race when we can. I always knew I could race with these guys.”

Gastineau’s winning move came on the opening lap of the main event, powering around the outside of Hahn, the polesitter, for the lead out of Turn 4.

“He got the jump on me again and I knew I had to press the issue to get around him as quick as I could,” Gastineau said. “He was on the bottom, so I wasn’t gonna pass him on the bottom, so I had to make it work. I just tried to stay even with him and then drive it harder than him going into the corner and was able to squeeze by him. Once I was by him, I knew our car was good, so I just checked out.”

The race’s lone caution flag appeared with 11 laps complete for debris on the frontstretch, which was a welcomed pause in the action in Gastineau’s mind as he caught the tail end of the field.

“I didn’t like the lapped traffic; I’m glad there was a caution,” Gastineau said. “Even after the caution, I wasn’t trying to catch the lapped cars. I was trying to pace myself and get to the checkered flag and not catch them.”

The green flag dropped on the restart and Gastineau took off once again, leaving the field behind him as he sped off to the $4,000 payday.

Hahn crossed the stripe second, bagging his 10th podium finish of the season.

“I felt like we had a better car in traffic, but the cautions just didn’t really fall out perfectly,” Hahn said. “Had a good car for tonight; hopefully, we can learn from it tonight and get a little bit better for tomorrow and get one step better.”

Hafertepe, the current points leader, crossed the finish line third to claim his 17th podium finish of the season and expanded his lead over Covington in the standings to 151 points.

“I want to thank everybody that’s been putting this deal together for us all year,” Hafertepe said. “Miles (Hill) doing what he does for our race team, and I want to thank Daryl (Turford) for coming on, and Cody (Fidler) has been sticking it out all year and learning quite a bit. We’ve got a good group of guys right now, just need a few things to fall our way and we can be knocking off some more wins.”

Covington finished fourth after starting fourth, while Austyn Gossel advanced from seventh on the starting grid to complete the top five.

McCreadie’s Second Win in Seven Days Comes in Boothill Debut

GREENWOOD, LA (October 11, 2025) – Tim McCreadie had never been to Boothill Speedway prior to Friday night’s Bayou Classic, but it didn’t look like it.

After winning his Heat Race to grab the fourth starting spot, the Watertown, NY native came out on top of a slider fest for the lead and drove away for his sixth win of the year with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision and second in a row.

“When we hot lapped, I felt good. I wasn’t the fastest when we time trialed, I got a little more of the cushion, felt even better,” McCreadie said. “It was just a matter of balancing the car. They didn’t do so much work that it was really heavy and it was kind of racy. I just do what I normally do. This stuff blended to my roots, maybe, with the Modifieds, where you’ve got to keep the car straight, keep it underneath you. Keep the panels and everything on it and do your best.”

Early in the 30-lap sprint, it looked like it may be Bobby Pierce’s night to get back to Victory Lane, as he powered away from Bilstein Pole Award winner Cody Overton on the outside. Slower traffic wasn’t an issue for Pierce, as he maintained a comfortable advantage until the first caution of the race came out for debris with 13 laps on the board.

McCreadie made the most of the restart to get by Overton and into second, while Cade Dillard had marched his way forward from eighth to get to third behind him. The race for the lead was quickly turned up a notch, as McCreadie ran down Pierce and made contact with him going into Turn 1, with both drivers able to continue on. Before McCreadie could make another bid for the top spot, Ethan Dotson slowed with a flat tire to bring out another yellow.

The ensuing restart produced some of the best racing of the night, with Dillard throwing it into Turn 1 from third to briefly grab the lead from Pierce. The No. 32 crossed him back over down the backstretch, but lost momentum allowed McCreadie to get to the inside of both of them and get out front. One more caution flew with six to go, but McCreadie was able to fend off Pierce’s final slider attempt and cruise home to the checkered flag.

The victory puts McCreadie only four points shy of Ryan Gustin in the battle for third in points with four races to go and established him as the second-winningest driver on tour in 2025 behind Pierce. Those numbers would have seemed unthinkable for the Briggs Transport crew five months ago after their sluggish start, which only included one top five in the first 11 races of the season.

“It was a struggle at the beginning of the year,” McCreadie said. “Normally, we persevere and try to get through it, but as my career has gotten to where it’s on the other side of how much time I’ve got left, we made a decision to do something that I’ve been used to doing, which was these [Longhorn] cars. It seemed to help us, everybody’s been helping us a lot. We’re just trying to do the best we can every night we go out there.”

Pierce’s runner-up put him back on a World of Outlaws podium for the first time in four races and extended his lead over Nick Hoffman to 112 points in his quest for a second championship.

“On the restart that I had when I was in the lead, the bottom guy definitely got a jump,” Pierce said. “They’re trying to get the best start they can, so I picked the bottom then. It definitely was the place to be on the initial restart, and then you kind of had to get back up top. Cody showed his hand there on the bottom, he was really good. It kind of transitioned there at the end, it started to rubber up but it never quite did, so you still had a little bit of a bottom and a top.”

Overton crossed the line third for his first podium since the season opener at Volusia Speedway Park in January, matching his career best with the Series in the process.

“I really thought my car was pretty good tonight,” Overton said. “Five, six, seven laps in, the canister fell off and it broke. Started riding a wheelie and I looked like John Force right there for a minute there at the end. I was kind of hoping they were all going to wreck each other and some cool stuff was going to happen and I was going to drive by them, but that didn’t go as planned.”

Hoffman finished fourth to minimize the points loss to Pierce, while Dennis Erb Jr. was fifth with his eighth top 10 in his last 10 Series starts.

PROCK IS BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN AFTERTEXAS MOTORPLEX FRIDAY NIGHT QUALIFYINGBeckman runs third while Force makes first Motorplex 340-mph run and sits sixth
ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 11, 2025) – The Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car was a 12,000-horsepower bucking bronco for 2025 NHRA Funny Car point leader Austin Prock but the 3.876-second ride he took under the lights down the Texas Motorplex drag strip was low elapsed time of Friday’s night qualifying session, making him the provisional No. 1 qualifier for the NHRA Mission Foods NHRA Texas Fall Nationals. The reigning Funny Car Champion earned his sixth No. 1 qualifier of the season and the $15,000 Battle for the Saddle bonus with the run that clicked the lights at 336.07 mph. His John Force Racing Funny Car teammate Jack Beckman drove the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS to the No. 3 spot with a Friday night qualifying run of 3.892 seconds at 330.83 mph. Both drivers shut off early in their Q1 runs after spinning the tires. Brittany Force wheeled her Monster Energy Top Fuel Dragster to a sixth-place run of 3.703 seconds, but it was her speed that brought the full grandstands of Texas drag racing fans to their feet. The run of 340.57 mph run was her 11th340-mph run of the 2025 season and the first ever at the Texas Motorplex which is celebrating its 40th season of NHRA competition. The run backed up her Q1 run of 3.874 seconds at 329.79 mph. The final two rounds of qualifying are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, at 12 and 2:30 p.m. CT. Final eliminations are scheduled for 10 a.m. C.T. on Sunday, Oct. 12. Quote from Austin Prock, Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car:
“It’s a little nerve-racking on a Friday night, especially when you spun the tires early in the first run, so you’re a little bit gun-shy, don’t really know what the track can hold, and you’ve got to go up there and make a lot of horsepower to run a quick ET. It’s a fine balance, but I have all the faith in my Cornwell Tools team. These guys are very intelligent, very sharp, so you just have to believe in your runbook and try to make smart decisions. They did exactly that and we’re walking home with the $15,000 low qualifier bonus. “The points tightened up with Hagan and Beckman after St. Louis but that’s exactly what NHRA wants. We had a huge lead, 280 points, and they took it all away (for the playoffs) to tighten everyone up to put on a great show for the fans. We’re in the competition business, but we’re also entertainers and we’re definitely making it exciting … whoever wins the most in these last three races. I’m not even counting points at this point. We just have to go out there to try to win the next three races. If we do that, we’ll be back-to-back world champions and that’s got a nice ring to it.” Quotes from Jack Beckman, PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS Funny Car:
“I think the hallmark of the PEAK team last year, and certainly the first half dozen races this year, is we were top three virtually every qualifying run. A lot of those were far from what we wanted it to run, or perfect runs, which meant we had such a wide tune-up window that even when we missed it, we still ran good. We were trying to run low ET that second session. It didn’t wear the amount of clutch we predicted it would, and when it does that, it slows the entire clutch application down to try to compensate. So, all that does is make the car run a little bit slower. To have that happen and still be the third-quickest car out there makes me feel great. Now, we’re not going to see those conditions again this weekend. Unless you get a cold front or clouds cover the track, that was the hero run so it’s time to move on. Tomorrow, we have a chance for six qualifying points, three each session. And the fact that Austin (Prock) has already put a couple more points on us, that’s a big deal. So, tomorrow we’re running for three points each session.” Quotes from Brittany Force, Monster Energy Top Fuel Dragster:
“We’ve run 340 before but we’d never done it here at the Texas Motorplex. This is for the fans; this is for the Meyer family and I’m excited to be here. We had two good runs down the track today so I’m very excited for the Monster Energy team.” TV ScheduleTelevision coverage on Sunday, Oct. 12, includes qualifying action on FS1 from 10 a.m. – noon ET and then eliminations coverage on FOX from 2-4 p.m. ET and 4:30-6:30 p.m. ET.

NEW TRACK, NO PROBLEM: Carson Macedo Shines in his New Egypt Debut with World of Outlaws

The Californian holds off Logan Schuchart to equal one of his heroes on the all-time win list

NEW EGYPT, NJ (October 10, 2025) – Carson Macedo had never seen New Egypt Speedway until Friday night.

Could one of the sport’s most uniquely shaped dirt tracks puzzle and slow one of the best Sprint Car drivers in the country? Nope.

Macedo looked like he had years of experience as he hit the New Jersey oval for the first time aboard the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars. The Lemoore, CA native lined up outside the front row for the 30-lap Feature and snuck around Logan Schuchart on the top to pace the opening circuit.

That wound up being the winning move as Macedo never relinquished the lead. A motivated Schuchart, who was trying to win the first race following his grandfather Bobby Allen’s passing earlier this week, stayed close behind for nearly the duration of the main event. The Shark Racing pilot even looked underneath Macedo on a few occasions, but no run was enough. Macedo held him off and took the checkered flag in his first ever night at New Egypt.

“Hats off to JJR, they did a great job,” Macedo said. “Traffic was tough. I knew the start was going to be critical, and I kind of just sent it up there as hard as I could up top, and it worked out. I stuck and was able to get around Logan. I knew that he was all over me in traffic. I could hear him, and I saw him the one time getting into Turn 3. There just wasn’t really a lot I could do.

“I just wanted to make sure I kept my momentum up, kept my speed up and didn’t let anybody beat me down into (Turn) 3, and it worked out. I was a little nervous there at the end because the rubber was laying down there in (Turns) 3 and 4 on the bottom. It was really clean down there and grippy. In (Turns) 1 and 2, I felt like I was better higher. The higher I would run, the more speed I would have off the corner. Hats off to JJR. Philip Dietz did an incredible job all night, made great adjustments. Adam Zimmerman and Robby McQuinn worked their tails off.”

Macedo and the JJR crew are up to 11 Series victories in 2025. Friday marked the 58th of Macedo’s career with the World of Outlaws, equaling him with one of his heroes and fellow Californian, Jason Meyers, for 16th all-time. Macedo becomes the sixth different driver through 10 visits to top a race with The Greatest Show on Dirt at New Egypt.

The runner-up spot went to Logan Schuchart. He wanted more than anything in the world to take the team his “pappy” built to Victory Lane. The Hanover, PA native might’ve not gotten the win, but his finish was still a worthy way to honor “Scruffy.” The Shark team was one many doubted would even make it through their first year with the World of Outlaws in 2014. But led by Bobby Allen, they not only made it, but they kept going. Now, here Schuchart and the Shark Racing team are 11 years later, carrying on Allen’s legacy by racing with the best in the nation and running up front.

“That guy was my hero,” said a choked up Schuchart of his grandfather. “I wanted to get out here and do that for him. But to come here and be on the podium after my mind is in all kinds of places is good. I talked to him plenty of times this week. I asked for his guidance because I knew my mindset wouldn’t be at 100-percent. He loved this thing and built a legacy for Jacob (Allen) and I to continue it while he’s gone. I could feel him. I know he’s there.”

David Gravel brought the Big Game Motorsports No. 2 home third. His Series-leading podium total is up to 36 as consistency carries the Watertown, CT toward a second consecutive World of Outlaws title.

“It was just kind of track position there,” Gravel said. “I’m just glad we passed some cars in the Dash. When you’ve got the best six cars up front, it’s hard to pass guys. Carson won the start, and that kind of won the race. Lapped traffic got somewhat interesting there, and I feel like I had a couple shots at Logan. (Turns) 1 and 2 was just starting to get interesting, and I kind of felt the bottom there come in and then Logan kind of took my line.”

Buddy Kofoid and Sheldon Haudenschild completed the top five.

Hunter Schuerenberg took the Vermeer Motorsports No. 55 from 21st to sixth to earn the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger.

David Gravel grabbed his third consecutive Simpson Quick Time and his 22nd of the year in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying.

Heat Races belonged to David Gravel (NOS Energy Drink Heat One), Carson Macedo (Real American Beer Heat Two), and Cole Macedo (WIX Filters Heat Three).

The SPA Technique #1 Redraw went to Logan Schuchart.

Schuchart also topped the Toyota Dash.

Garet Williamson won the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown.

The Smith Titanium Brake Systems Break of the Race went to Bill Balog.

Cadillac claims another front row start

Aitken qualifies second in No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R for Petit Le MansBRASELTON, Ga. (October 10, 2025) — Cadillac Racing will start on the front row for the second consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race and aim for its second victory in a row.
Jack Aitken, driving the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, recorded a best lap of 1 minute, 9.827 seconds on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta road course to qualify second on the 12-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) grid for the 10-hour Motul Petit Le Mans.
Aitken, the 2024 pole sitter for the final endurance race of the IMSA season at 1:09.639, started on the pole the last race and teamed with Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti to dominate the six-hour event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to deliver Cadillac’s 32nd victory since joining IMSA’s prototype class in 2017.
The victory September 21 was the first for Cadillac (in any series) at the Brickyard.
Filipe Albuquerque qualified eighth in the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R at 1:10.314. He’ll share driving duties Saturday with Ricky Taylor and Will Stevens. Jordan Taylor qualified 11th in the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R with a best lap of 1:10.649. Louis Deletraz and Norman Nato will also be at the wheel in the race.
Cadillac won the 2024 Petit Le Mans from the fifth starting position and the luxury brand has four victories and 11 podiums (including victories) in the Petit Le Mans. A Cadillac has finished on the podium in all eight races it has contested at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta since 2017.

Aiming for Cadillac’s sixth IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup Manufacturer Championship is a subplot to the day-night season finale. Cadillac is five points out of first, with points awarded at the four-, eight- and 10-hour marks.
Tom Blomqvist, who co-drove the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R with Aitken and Pipo Derani in 2024, earned the pole (1:09.628) in the No. 60 Acura. The top eight were separated by .686 of a second.
Peacock will stream flag-to-flag coverage for U.S. subscribers beginning at noon ET, while NBC will telecast the race live from noon-3 p.m. International feed streaming will be available on IMSA.tv. Live radio broadcast of the race will be available on IMSA.comRadioLeMans.com and Sirius XM (XM206, Web/app 996).

Filipe Albuquerque: “The car was pretty nice today to drive. We were expecting to be fighting for the top five. Unfortunately, I qualified P8. Not what I wanted or expected. The field is so, so close. One-tenth would’ve put me in P4, which is a completely different perspective. We have 10 hours of racing tomorrow and the No. 10 car knows how to survive all 10 hours. The last hour for us is the critical part. We will see how it is tomorrow. I think we have a good car for the race and that is a completely different beast of a car and happy for that.”

CORVETTE RACING AT PETIT LE MANS: Title Fight Set

Catsburg third in GTD PRO, No. 3 Corvette, Chevrolet hold points lead after qualifying BRASELTON, Ga. (October 10, 2025) – Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports’ No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R will start on the second row in GTD PRO on Saturday after Nicky Catsburg’s qualifying effort ahead of the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Catsburg was third-fastest in Friday’s 15-minute GTD PRO session in the Corvette that he will drive with Tommy Milner and Nico Varrone. His lap of 1:18.747 (116.118 mph) around the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course extended Chevrolet’s lead in the season-long GTD PRO Manufacturers Championship heading into the final race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.Corvette Racing Media Resources Documents | Statistics | Photos | Factory Driver Bios |

Unofficially, Chevrolet’s lead in the Manufacturers standings grew by two points to 48 over Ferrari. Chevrolet is aiming for its 15th IMSA Manufacturers title with the Corvette Racing program. Antonio Garcia was eighth in class behind the wheel of the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R that he shares with Alexander Sims and Daniel Juncadella. Garcia and Sims lead Albert Costa and the No. 81 Ferrari by 13 points going into Saturday, which means the car that finishes ahead of the other in the 10-hour enduro will claim the GTD PRO Drivers and Teams championships.
Although the No. 3 Corvette was down the order, Garcia was only 0.599 seconds from pole and 0.359 seconds to the Ferrari over a single lap. However, all six Corvette drivers remarked during practices that the Z06 GT3.R should perform better during a race stint. In GTD, Salih Yoluc will start DXDT Racing’s No. 36 Corvette from 17th in GTD. He, Charlie Eastwood and Alec Udell are aiming to regain their form from Sebring and Watkins Glen as DXDT led in class at both races before finishing down the order. Orey Fidani qualified AWA’s No. 13 Corvette GT3.R 19th in class as he chases a second consecutive Bob Akin Award and trip to next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Fidani and the No. 13 Corvette are tied for the season championship lead with the No. 70 Ferrari, which will start 15th. AWA is hoping to bookend the 2025 GTD season with victories, having scored a landmark win in class at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. The 10-hour Petit Le Mans is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. ET on Saturday. The race will air live on NBC from noon to 3 p.m. ET and with live streaming on Peacock in the United States and IMSA.com outside the U.S. from noon to 10:30 p.m. ET. IMSA Radio will provide the audio call at IMSA.com, XM 206 and SiriusXM Online 996.
CORVETTE RACING BY PRATT MILLER MOTORSPORTS POST-QUALIFYING DRIVER QUOTESANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Not great. I would say that we did another test session in qualifying. We changed the car drastically in order to have more performance but it didn’t work. It didn’t feel right but at least now we know. In a way, it’s good to know that the No. 4 is up there and we can go in that direction, which is pretty easy. We’ll go from there. There’s still 10 hours to go.”
NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Petit Le Mans is a very big and very important race every year and this year is no different. We saw a little bit at Indianapolis how crazy the traffic can be and how easy it is to have contact that can alter your race. So we need to be mindful of that as there is still a lot to race for – my first Petit Le Mans win, the first for the team in many years and the Manufacturers Championship as well as helping Antonio and Alex in the Drivers Championship. It’s going to be a busy and hectic race. I can’t wait for it.”
