ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING FOR FIRST NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY WIN
EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — After making adjustments to his AAA of Northern New England Chevrolet Camaro SS before the Norwalk, Ohio race, reigning world champion Robert Hight is looking forward to the second half of the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season beginning with the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.

“We were running bigger cylinder heads, a different camshaft and a different supercharger to start the year because we were trying to go faster and set records,” Hight said. “(Crew chief) Jimmy (Prock) decided to go back to what we ran last year, the same stuff Courtney’s running right now, because with the NHRA’s new track prep, we just can’t run as hard as we want to.” Continue reading ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING FOR FIRST NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY WIN

EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — Solidly in the NHRA Mello Yello Top 10 points standings, 16-time Funny Car world champion John Force feels confident heading into the second half of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season starting at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.

Force has raced his way into two final round appearances and three semifinals after opening up the season with a series of explosions. Force never gave up on his PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevrolet Camaro SS and had all the faith in his team to get them back on the right track.

“The car’s starting to go rounds, this ol’ PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevy is starting to go down the racetrack. That’s what we’ve been working for. We’ve moved up a little in points. It’s still tight, but we’re moving forward. (Crew chief) Jon Schafer, these young kids, Ronnie Thompson, they’re starting to prove themselves. We’ve come back and went to the finals at Richmond and the semifinals in Norwalk both times I get beat by my daughter.” Continue reading OHN FORCE CONFIDENT HEADING TO NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS WITH PEAK COOLANT AND MOTOR OIL TEAM

After 12 races on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season, Force has a win and a No. 1 qualifier under her belt. Entering the New England Nationals last season, Force was chasing her first win of the season. She found it in New Hampshire, nearly doubling up with sister Courtney Force.

Our Monster Energy team is looking for another win this season and would love to repeat our success from last year.” Continue reading BRITTANY FORCE READY TO REPEAT WITH MONSTER ENERGY AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS

COURTNEY FORCE AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS READY TO CONTINUE DOMINANCE AT NEW ENGLAND DRAGWAY
EPPING, N.H. (July 5, 2018) — Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts team have shown no signs of slowing down. They have a 250-point lead in the NHRA Mello Yello points standings, have qualified No. 1 eight times and earned four wins in five final round appearances. Now they head to New England Dragway for the sixth annual NHRA New England Nationals, an event Force has continually had success at.

In the event’s five-year existence, Force has had two final round appearances including a win at the inaugural event in 2013 and a runner-up finish at the 2017 race. She has qualified inside the top eight all five years and was the No. 2 qualifier in 2017 after her Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car had a highlight reel explosion during Friday qualifying. Despite the fireworks, Force was the preliminary leader at the end of the day and, come race day, was only second to teammate Robert Hight. She raced her way to the final round and nearly had a double-up win with sister Brittany Force. POINTS LEADER COURTNEY FORCE HEADS TO NORWALK FOCUSED ON
BIG PICTURE
NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2018) — Courtney Force and her Advance Auto Parts team are on fire, which is appropriate as they head to Summit Racing Motorsports Park, the site of the specialty Night Under Fire event. Force, who has raced in and watched her father, 16-time champion John Force, race and win at Night Under Fire is eager to continue her hot streak into the halfway mark of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

The 2017 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals are well behind the 12-time event winner. After consecutive trips to the finals in 2015 and 2016, Force inexplicably failed to qualify in 2017. Not only is that the only such blemish on her record, it came in a season in which she qualified no worse than eighth, was a No. 1 qualifier seven times, tying a record for females in the Funny Car category, and finished the season third in points, a career-best. JOHN FORCE WRAPPING UP JUNE WITH STRONG FINISH IN NORWALK
NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2018) — The winningest driver in Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park history is eager to get back to a track where he has seen more win lights than stoplights. While John Force, driver of the PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car, may only have one NHRA Funny Car win at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, the 148-time winner has picked up so many specialty wins at the August mega-event, Night Under Fire, that he feels right at home at the track outside of Cleveland.

“When I think of coming to Norwalk I think of two things,” said John Force. “The Bader family and huge crowds. They packed them in here for so many years for the Night Under Fire that the Baders finally got an NHRA national event about ten years ago and it has been awesome ever since.” Continue reading JOHN FORCE WRAPPING UP JUNE WITH STRONG FINISH IN NORWALK

ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING TO CAP OFF FOUR IN A ROW WITH SECOND WIN
NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2018) — Robert Hight and the Auto Club of Southern California Camaro are heating up just in time for summer. The reigning and two-time Funny Car champion is heading back to the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals looking to seal the deal and pick up his first win at the race track outside of Cleveland. With two final round appearances to his credit including a runner-up finish last year, the crewman turned world champion is ready to get into the winner’s circle at Summit Racing Motorsports Park.

“We had a great race car last year in Norwalk and just needed one more win light,” said Robert Hight. “We were in the 3.90s all day and then just didn’t get a good run in the final. We have one of the fastest cars out here now and we are looking for just a little more consistency.” Continue reading ROBERT HIGHT LOOKING TO CAP OFF FOUR IN A ROW WITH SECOND WIN

COURTNEY FORCE TALLIES HER SEVENTH NO. 1 QUALIFIER OF THE SEASON AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

COURTNEY FORCE TALLIES HER SEVENTH NO. 1 QUALIFIER OF THE SEASON AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY
BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 16, 2018) — Courtney Force powered her way to her 24th career No. 1 qualifier Saturday at the Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Robert Hight will start race day from the No. 3 position, John Force will start form No. 6 and, in Top Fuel, Brittany Force is heading into eliminations in the No. 5 position at Bristol Dragway.

To say Courtney Force is dominating the Funny Car category is becoming an understatement. The driver of the Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS has now tallied seven No. 1 qualifiers just 11 races into the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. With a 3.993-second pass at 325.92 mph from Friday night, Force continued her streak of qualifying inside the top four and picked up her second consecutive No. 1 qualifier. COURTNEY FORCE AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS CURRENTLY NO. 1 AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

COURTNEY FORCE AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS CURRENTLY NO. 1 AT
BRISTOL DRAGWAY
BRISTOL, Va. (June 15, 2018) — After day one of qualifying at the Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Courtney Force shows no signs of letting up on her domination of the Funny Car class. Force, along with her Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car team, raced to the top of the field Friday night at Bristol Dragway. Robert Hight currently holds the No. 3 spot with John Force at No. 6. Brittany Force, in Top Fuel, ended the day No. 5.

Courtney Force has yet to qualify, even preliminarily, outside of the top four in 2018 and, at the 11th race of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing season, it doesn’t look like the Funny Car points leader has any intention of ending that streak. Force, who ran a 4.277-second pass during the first qualifying session, good enough for fourth, came out under the lights with a cool track and blasted to a 3.933-second pass at 325.92 mph to take over the top spot. It was the only Funny Car three-second pass of the day and earned her three bonus points. Continue reading COURTNEY FORCE AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS CURRENTLY NO. 1 AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 14, 2018) — Just over halfway through the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series regular season reigning Funny Car champion Robert Hight is ready to add another win to his career total at Bristol Dragway. This weekend’s Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals which starts Friday evening with two rounds of Funny Car and Top Fuel qualifying will give the 42-time winner his chance.

COURTNEY FORCE RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS ON AND OFF TRACK

COURTNEY FORCE RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS ON AND OFF TRACK
BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 14, 2018) — When you are the Funny Car points leader and winner of three of the previous four NHRA national events, there isn’t much down time at the track — you spend time in the press room with the media as well as have various sponsor obligations in suites and hospitality areas between rounds, during qualifying and on race day. For Courtney Force, the time at the track might be considered her down time as she has been flying across the country between races just as quickly as she has been racing down the track.

Since the beginning of May Force was won three races, attended the Indy 500, appeared on the CMT Awards in Nashville as Sam Hunt’s presenter and presented a house to a deserving family of a veteran in Florida as part of Advance Auto Parts participation with the “Home for Heroes” program. JOHN FORCE LOOKING TO BUILD ON LEGEND AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

JOHN FORCE LOOKING TO BUILD ON LEGEND AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY
BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 14, 2018) — At a track where he has won four times in five final round appearances, John Force has nothing left to prove to the sport. He is racing this weekend at the Fitzgerald USA NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals to prove to himself he can still stay in the fight. The 16-time Funny Car champion and 148-time Funny Car national event winner could walk away from the sport tomorrow and head right into every Hall of Fame imaginable. However, he still has a lot of racing left in his tank as shown by his past two race weekends where he, along with the rest of his PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil team, have battled to semifinal and runner-up finishes under tough conditions.

“Look, I let this race car do the running for me,” said Force. “We have had a tough year, one of the toughest of my career. We have never blown up this mush stuff but we have figured a lot out. I am listening to my guys and to Robert Hight and Jimmy Prock and Brian Corradi. We are going to keep fighting and keep getting better. I have my heart back after Richmond.” Continue reading JOHN FORCE LOOKING TO BUILD ON LEGEND AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

Force on Mongoose

Although the Sunday death of Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen at age 81 reverberated throughout the sport of drag racing, it hit few harder than it did John Force, the 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion. Force spoke at length with his PR representatives Elon Werner and Dave Densmore to collect his thoughts and feelings about McEwen. This is what he wanted us to share with the NHRA community.

As recently as three to four weeks ago, McEwen had called Force to talk about a recent spate of engine explosions and crashes that had left the Hall of Fame team owner and driver battered, bruised and besieged. Continue reading Force on Mongoose

COURTNEY FORCE LEADS FUNNY CAR FIELD FRIDAY AT THE
VIRGINIA NHRA NATIONALS
DINWIDDIE, Va. (June 08, 2018) — Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car are the provisional leaders at the inaugural Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond, Va. Robert Hight follows closely in the No. 2 spot, John Force rounds out the Funny Cars in sixth and Brittany Force is No. 2 in Top Fuel.

Being in a new environment and encountering the warmest conditions so far this season have done nothing to deter Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts team, headed by crew chiefs Dan Hood and Brian Corradi. In both sessions, Force was quickest and, both times, overtook the No. 1 spot from teammate Robert Hight; first with her 4.058-second pass at 319.82 mph and then again with her 3.983-second pass at 323.35 mph. Force is the first and, currently, only Funny Car to race in the three-second range at Virginia Motorsports Park and her second pass set both ends of the track record.
