WHAT ARE YOUR KEYS TO SUCCESS HERE AT THIS TRACK?
“Having a fast racecar is probably the most important key to any race, but we were lucky enough to have a really fast car last year at a lot of tracks, but especially here. I felt like when we got to this race, throughout practice, I felt like I had the car to win. It felt like that was the best Cup car I had ever had to that point. Was able to capitalize on it and get the win. I really enjoy this racetrack. It’s got a lot of different lanes to choose from. You have a lot of tire fall off. It’s just kind of a track that suits my driving style quite a bit. I think that is why we have had a little bit of success here with a couple of Xfinity wins and the Cup win last year. “Yeah in our Chevrolet it will be good. I’m excited I was watching the race last night. We are starting off in Q-trim (qualifying trim), so that is always great. Freshly woken up just trying to go as fast as we can here in practice. We have had a lot of success here, a lot of good runs here in the Xfinity stuff. Just trying to utilize some of that and take that into today and learn throughout this weekend. This place is so wide, so many grooves and the biggest thing is tire fall off. Once that happens, start moving up to the fence. Just got to manage it the best we can and take care of it all day. It’s good to have Farmer John on our Chevrolet. ST. PETERSBURG (MARCH 11, 2018) – Defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden (No. 1 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet) led the 11-car Chevrolet 2.2 liter twin turbocharged direct injected V6 contingent in today’s opening race for the Verizon IndyCar Series with a seventh place finish.

It was a wild race that saw 11 caution flags for a total of 25 of the 110-lap Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit. On the first lap, Team Chevy contenders Will Power (No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet) and Tony Kanaan (No. 14 ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet) were caught up in incidents that sent them to pit lane for repairs. CAMARO ZL1’S SHOW SPEED EARLY AT PHOENIX

AVONDALE, Ariz. (March 9, 2018) – The opening practice for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is now complete at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. A contingent of Camaro ZL1 drivers topped the speed charts in advance of today’s qualifying session for the fourth race of the 2018 season, the TicketGuradian 500.

Kyle Larson topped the charts with a quick lap of 138.281 mph. He was followed by his Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, Jamie McMurray. Kyle Larson was Chevrolet’s highest-finishing Camaro ZL1 in Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) ending the day with a third-place finish.
The run marked Larson’s third top 10 finish in five races at LVMS
Team Chevy ended the 267-lap Pennzoil 400 at LVMS with five drivers in the top-15. CAMARO ZL1 SHOWS STRENGTH IN SECOND PRACTICE SESSION AT LAS VEGAS
Camaro ZL1 Makes up Four of the Top Five on the Leaderboard

LAS VEGAS, (March 3, 2018) – One month ago several Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 teams tested at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The hard work is paying off. Four of the top five teams in the second Cup Series practice were Camaro ZL1 racecars. Kyle Larson was quickest in the first of two practice sessions this morning at Las Vegas. Ryan Newman, No. 31 Caterpillar Camaro ZL1 recorded the second quickest time followed by seven-time Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s for Pros Camaro ZL1 in third. Alex Bowman, No. 88 Nationwide Camaro ZL1, clocked the fifth fastest time.

KYLE LARSON CREDIT ONE BANK CAMARO ZL1 – Quickest in the second Cup Series practice session at Las Vegas
“The car is really good. We tested here about a month ago and were fast and got a good balance on our car. I think this practice we were just kind of chasing the track a little bit. I was loose the first few runs we did and worked on tightening it up and then we put a set of stickers on there a few laps there at the end, ran a fast lap, but I built tight really fast. So, I think if we would have just waited to practice and left the same set-up on there to start we would have been fine. The track just went through a lot of changes, transition I think.”

“We had a good run here last year. I think we finished second in both races, Xfinity and Cup, which is better than I typically had run at Vegas. So, I was happy about that, but we were pretty good most everywhere last year. We tested here a couple of weeks before Daytona and were really fast. That was our first time with the new Camaro ZL1, so was happy about that. I’m sure we are back here with about the same set-up as we ended the test with. We had a good run there. Yeah, just kind of wait and see how it goes. Excited about it. Atlanta is a unique 1.5-mile. WEST COAST SWING:
2018 marks the fourth consecutive year that the NASCAR schedule has taken the series on a ‘West Coast Swing’ visiting Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway and Auto Club Speedway in succession. Chevrolet has been the most successful manufacturer by earning six of the nine races in the past three seasons that the series has made this mecca.
