| POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 10, 2026) – Hot off a dominating win earlier this month in the Trans Am by Pirelli season-opener, at Road Atlanta this weekend Matthew Brabham will be going for a second straight win aboard the #16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang. Brabham is also the defending Road Atlanta race winner. But this year the circumstances are very different than last year, when Brabham was standing in for team owner and three-time series champion Chris Dyson, who was recuperating from injuries suffered in a crash at the previous race. This year, with Dyson driving only in select races, Brabham is the team’s lead driver. He’ll be gunning for his first Trans Am championship and the team’s fourth. “I love Road Atlanta,” Brabham said. “And not just because I won here last year. It’s a real driver’s track. It’s fast and has a great flow.” Brabham qualified second last year and then took the lead and the win after the early leader broke his car’s suspension trying to fend off Brabham. “This year the plan is to win the pole and take an immediate lead,” said Brabham, who at Sebring earlier this month outqualified the rest of the field, set the race’s fastest lap and led from flag-to-flag. “I think I’ve got the car and the team to do that, but there are several other strong car and driver combinations, and I know those guys plans conflict with mine.” “Matty and the team are off to a great start,” said Chris Dyson. “We made some adjustments to the organization over the winter with the intent of achieving a level of reliability and preparation we were lacking last season. Every weekend in 2025, our cars were fast and potential race winners when they rolled off the trailer. Between us, Matty and I won half the races – more than anyone else. The problem was that too often we lost races not to faster cars, but to mechanical issues and tactical errors. But that is ancient history now. The GYM WEED car is plenty fast and so is Matty. If we are consistent and continue to execute as we did at Sebring, we will have a strong campaign in the rest of 2026.” Click here for more on Chris Dyson Racing.
