Line posts improved qualifying performances at New England Nationals

EPPING, N.H., June 13, 2015 – Jason Line arrived in Epping with the intention of improving upon what has lately been a thorn in his side. Sure enough, qualifying for the 3rd annual NHRA New England Nationals brought about certain improvement as Line and the Summit Racing team moved his blue Chevrolet Camaro into the No. 3 position – two spots higher than he has qualified in the last two races. Line will square off with Alan Prusiensky in the first round.

Line launched into qualifying with a 6.585-second pass at 212.16 mph that sent him to the No. 4 position, and in the Friday night session, he and the team pushed a bit harder and came up with a 6.530 at 212.69 that moved him up one position to No. 3.

Earlier in the week, Saturday was predicted to be a rain-plagued affair, but with a big blue sky overhead and hot sun shining on the racetrack, conditions were conducive to racing, but a bit challenging. Even so, Line put two respectable runs on the table with a 6.573 at 212.83 followed by a 6.557, 212.39. Line earned two bonus points in qualifying overall as third quickest in both round two and round four.

His first-round opponent on Sunday is a familiar one. Line most recently raced Prusiensky in the first round in Atlanta at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals, where he beat his opponent and went on to win the race.

“There are a lot of things that can happen, and all you can do is go up there and do your best. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn’t – but I’m going to do whatever I can to win that round with my Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro and the next three after that,” said Line.
