Josh Hart Exceptional Driving Effort Comes up Short in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (September 21, 2025) — Josh Hart was focused on doing everything in his power to keep the Brakes for Breasts TechNet Top Fuel dragster in championship contention today at zMax Dragway. Racing in the first four-wide national event in the Countdown playoff Hart entered race day as the No. 10 qualifier following two days of tough qualifying. His 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster made its quickest run of qualifying in the final session running 3.824 seconds at 329.83 mph.

“We knew we would have a tough race in the first round racing against Antron (Brown) and Doug (Kalitta),” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “I was ready to go and I think it showed in my reaction time. You have to be at the top of your game in these last races of the season. This is the playoffs.”

In the first round Hart and the Brakes for Breasts pink Top Fuel dragster were lined up in lane one with Doug Kalitta and Antron Brown in two lanes to his right. The Christmas Tree fired, and Hart was first off the line and he made a smooth run that was his quickest pass of the weekend, a 3.820 second pass at over 330 mph. Unfortunately, Kalitta and Brown made slightly quicker passes, and he was unable to hold off Brown who got to the finish line just behind Kalitta to wrap up the two spots to advance to the second quad.

“I knew I hit the tree really well and this Brakes for Breasts dragster was pulling all the way down lane one,” said Hart. “We just had a tough group in our quad. We have four more races to make our move, and St. Louis is really important for our championship hopes.”

For the fifth consecutive season Hart is racing pink in support of the Brakes for Breasts charity campaign aligned with his primary sponsor TechNet Professional, an elite network of automotive repair shops across North America. Fans can support the program by making donations here.

“I am very proud to be associated with TechNet and the Brakes for Breasts program,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel nationals event winner. “This program does an amazing job of raising donations for breast cancer research and engaging the thousands of TechNet shops and their customers. I was thrilled to get this pink TechNet Brakes for Breasts Top Fuel dragster on the track.”

There are four races remaining in the 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship. Hart and the Brakes for Breasts team will immediately shift their focus to closing the gap with his Countdown competitors. The team will be back on track for two qualifying runs on Friday, September 26 followed by two more sessions on Saturday, September 27. The quickest 16 Top Fuel dragsters will race for the iconic Wally on Sunday, September 28.
