Cruz Pedregon–Reading Advance

Quotes for NHRA – Reading Nationals

Cruz Pedregon, two-time Funny Car World Champion, says:

For many years, Reading has marked the official start of the Countdown to the Championship, a six-race shootout to crown the champions. This year is no different, and we’re excited to be a part of it with the Snap-on® “105th Anniversary” Dodge® Hellcat®.

We’ve been knocking on the door recently, coming up just short in some close races with championship contenders. That gives us confidence we’ll be right in the mix as the Countdown kicks off in Reading.

It’s going to be a fast and furious stretch, with three back-to-back events in Reading, Charlotte, and St. Louis. We’ll find out quickly where we stack up, and we’re ready for the challenge.

The beauty of the Countdown format is that it works a lot like the NFL playoffs. You can have a great regular season, or not your best, but once the playoffs begin, you’ve got a fresh shot to make a run at the championship. That’s exactly how we’re approaching it.

As always, we’re excited to race in front of the great Northeast fans and Makers and Fixers. We’ve celebrated some big wins at this track in the past, and we’re looking forward to adding to that history this weekend. Stay tuned!

If you can’t be there in person to take in all the sights and sounds of this exciting event, be sure to catch all the action on FS1 or FOX network TV. NHRA.TV is also a great way to watch.
