Brittany Force lit up California Wine Country during qualifying in her Monster Energy Chevrolet Top Fuel Dragster for the Sonoma Nationals on Friday night, resetting the world record speed at an astonishing 343.16mph. On Saturday, the multi-generation racer secured her third No. 1 qualifying position of the year and won her first Mission Foods 2Fast/2 Tasty Challenge of the season. On Sunday, Force’s day came to an early end against Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon in the first round. 
Austin Prock and the Cornwell Tools JFR Chevrolet SS team beat Spencer Hyde off the line and never trailed, going 3.904 seconds at 333.82mph on the way to his fifth Wally of the season. Prock’s 13th career Funny Car victory extends his points lead over John Force Racing teammate Jack Beckman to 140 points. Prock qualified in the fifth spot, utilizing his run of 3.891 seconds at 334.24mph, from the first qualifying run on Friday. He cruised to a first-round victory over veteran Cruz Pedragon before going 3.887 seconds at 335.48mph, the quickest pass of the weekend, beating Paul Lee in the second round. A matchup against top qualifier Matt Hagan was decided by 0.010 seconds after a slight starting line advantage by Prock. Jack Beckman beat Jason Rupert in the first round of eliminations to record his 500th round win, but hopes for an all John Force Racing finale ended when the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant JFR Chevrolet SS just crossed over the center line in the semifinals. Beckman ended Saturday with the third-best qualifying time.Round win #501 came against Hunter Green in the second round. Greg Stanfield bested his son, Aaron, both in Elite Motorsports’ Chevrolets, in a tight final Pro Stock Showdown to take home his first Wally since 2011.
