Pre-Race Report
The Snap-on® “Makers and Fixers” Dodge® SRT® Hellcat® is in the hauler on the way to Phoenix, and Cruz Pedregon says he and the team are off to a “great start” this season, reviewing the data and building some new combinations for the Arizona Nationals.
“We’re feeling good about the program J.C. (John Collins) and Rip (Reynolds) put into place to get us into the semis in our first race of the season,” says Cruz who had his 600th round win during the quarter finals Sunday. “We’re still knocking off some of the rust from a couple of months away from the track, but we’re getting the performance we want and consistent runs with the Snap-on Dodge. It’s a really competitive Funny Car field but watch for us to be a contender this weekend at Wild Horse Pass.”
Before hitting the road, Cruz enjoyed time at the track with family and friends and hosting franchisees of his primary sponsor Snap-on. This Thursday, Cruz will do a “ride-along,” stopping by shops and visiting customers, with Phoenix-area Snap-on franchisee Keith Davidson whose name will be on the side of Funny Car this weekend as the honorary “Nitro Franchisee.” Also, on the car will be the Snap-on “Makers & Fixers” theme to promote and elevate skilled trades.
