Charlestown, IN (September 21st, 2021) – The Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania was host to four potent Champions Tour classes of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League on Saturday September 18th . The event was also the site for the first Champions Tour points champion to be crowned for 2021 in the ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck division. The ARP Super Stock Diesel Truck class was loaded with contenders for the title as several trucks had a mathematical chance to clinch the title. Entering the event Erik Stacey and the SmokinYa HD Chevrolet held the lead and like his fellow competitors would have to be at the top of his game to clinch the title. In the end Stacey would hold off a valiant effort by past champion Cody Hastings and the Against the Grain Dodge who won the class. Stacey would finish fourth in competition, providing the two-point cushion for the title over Hastings. The Summit Racing Mini Rod class continued with a tight, two-tractor race that will be decided at this weekend’s Pro Pulling Nationals in Wheatland, Missouri. Bill Leischner and the past class champion machine Bobcat Jr. won the class in Waynesburg, but it was the Sawed Off machine and Grayson Shelton gaining two points on the Green Streak Black of Austin Boyd, who keeps a six-point spread on Shelton entering Wheatland. Emerging as a first-time winner in the Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Truck class was Tony Fleming and his Hi Maintenance Chevy. A pair of pullers were able to draw closer to class points leader Russ Nichols and his On the Edge Ford; Chad Mayhill and the 2-Timin Ford crept closer to Nichols with a fifth in Waynesburg and Jeremy Nelson’s third place finish in the Midnight Gambler gives him a mathematical shot at the title next weekend in Wheatland. The final class in Waynesburg, the Unlimited Super Stock Tractor class, offered a bit of clarity with class leader Josh Blackbourn and the Considered Armed and Dangerous – HD CaseIH taking second place in competition, furthering his grip on a potential 2021 points title. The battle rages in second and third place where Colin Ross and his Triple Bypass McCormick took the win in Waynesburg and gained four points on the current second place Extremely Armed and Dangerous CaseIH of Terry Blackbourn who finished third in the evening of competition.
