THOMPSON, Conn. (May 31, 2017) – After capturing Honda’s first-ever Red Bull Global Rallycross victory in Louisville, KY, Olsbergs MSE (OMSE), with drivers Sebastian Eriksson, Oliver Eriksson and Mitchell deJong, heads into the weekend looking to capitalize on its early-season success in New England.

The series will make its debut at the historic Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Connecticut. The oval and road-course circuits will play host to a .895-mile rallycross-modified track during the weekend. The nine-turn layout will see the Honda Racing drivers begin their race on the pit lane and head towards the .625-mile oval in a clockwise direction.

The signature 70-foot dirt jump will be the last feature the drivers will contest before going door-to-door on the final section of the 1.7-mile road course. The Joker Lap should give competitors about a two-second advantage before they enter the oval course again.

“We’ve never raced at a hybrid-style circuit with the oval and road course, and the Joker Lap looks like an incredible opportunity to gain time,” said Louisville race winner Sebastian Eriksson. “We typically don’t have long dirt straightaways, so it will be a battle going onto the tarmac and into Turn Seven.”

“Just looking at the map, I think we will really take well to this track,” said 19-year-old Temecula, Calif.-native deJong. “The Honda Civic Coupe is a great car, and it tackles dirt sections and allows us to be aggressive in technical sections.”

“I’m very excited to get to the track in Connecticut,” added 18-year-old Swedish rookie Oliver Eriksson (no relation to Sebastian). “We had a successful round in Louisville, and now it’s up to us to capitalize, and deliver more wins and points towards the championship.”
