WILL POWER, NO. 12 VERIZON TEAM PENSKE CHEVROLET, RACE WINNER. Today’s victory was Power’s 26th career win, and his second on the Streets of Belle Isle. It was the seventh victory of the season for the Chevrolet Aero Kit with the fully integrated 2.2 liter V6 Chevy engine.
HOW GRATIFYING IS THIS WIN?
“The guys did a great job in the pits and got me out in front of the No. 28 (Ryan Hunter-Reay). Obviously, on that restart that I thought ‘I really got to capitalize here otherwise we are not going to win.’ I went down his (No. 22 Simon Pagenaud, his Team Penske teammate) outside. I’ve got to thank Verizon, thank the fans. I mean Verizon, man; it’s been a long time since the No. 12 has been in Victory Lane. Very happy for the whole Verizon crew.”
