Timothy Peters
No. 17 Red Horse Racing
Toyota Tundra

This Week’s Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra at Michigan International Speedway… Timothy Peters will pilot chassis No. 023 from the Red Horse Racing stable on Saturday in the Careers for Veterans 200. This chassis was last used at Kentucky Speedway earlier this season where Peters finished ninth.

Peters at Michigan… Peters has recorded nine starts at Michigan International Raceway and has one top-five and six top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 13.3 and an average finishing position of 12.2.

Race Rewind: Bristol… At the conclusion of 200 unpredictable laps at Bristol Motor Speedway in the UNOH 200, Timothy Peters took the checkered flag in the 13th position in his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. A qualifying lap of 15.33 seconds placed him 25th on the starting grid, but the 2012 Bristol winner methodically picked his way through the field, with the aid of crew chief Shane Huffman. Just past the halfway point, Peters cracked the top-10 on lap 112, and worked his way into contention. The Danville, Virginia native’s handling became tight, and he made his final trek to pit road under the lap 135 caution for four tires, fuel, and air pressure changes. Peters fought valiantly on numerous occasions on the outside lane with a tight Toyota Tundra and finished 13th in his 12th start at the “World’s Fastest Half Mile.”

Timothy Peters Quote:
On racing at Michigan International Speedway…
“Our mile-and-a-half and bigger tracks have been really good. Pocono was a good run for us, so I’m looking forward to getting to Michigan and riding that wave with my Red Horse Racing guys and hopefully locking ourselves into the Chase with our Toyota Tundra.”

Brett Moffitt
No. 11 Red Horse Racing
Toyota Tundra

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Michigan International Raceway… On Saturday,Brett Moffitt will race chassis number 020 in the Careers for Veterans 200. Moffitt raced this chassis earlier this season at Kentucky Speedway, where a top-five run was derailed by an engine issue.

Moffitt at Michigan… Moffitt has one NCWTS start at Michigan International Speedway, starting 14th and finishing 17th in 2013. The Grimes, Iowa native also has three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the two-mile track.

Race Rewind: Bristol… Brett Moffitt earned his second top-three finish in two races and improved his best career finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with a second-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday night. Moffitt transferred to the third and final round of knockout group qualifying to earn the eighth starting position for the 200-lap event in the No. 11 BrainGear/Surface Sunscreen Toyota Tundra. Crew chief Scott Zipadelli opted to have Moffitt stay out for several cautions early in the race to preserve track position because of threatening weather. Zipadelli brought him to pit road from third under caution on lap 137 for four fresh Goodyear tires, Sunoco fuel and an air pressure adjustment and Moffitt restarted in the sixth position with 57 laps to go. Moffitt worked his way back to the second position and was battling for the lead when a caution flag slowed the field. Moffitt restarted on the outside of the front row with just five circuits left and nearly picked up his first NCWTS win, but recorded a career-best second place finish.

Brett Moffitt Quote:
On racing at Michigan International Speedway…
“I can’t wait to get to Michigan (International Speedway) and see what we can do this weekend. We’re taking the same Tundra that we had at Kentucky (Speedway) and this team has momentum on their side with a fourth at Eldora (Speedway), a third at Pocono (Raceway) and a second-place finish at Bristol (Motor Speedway). This truck was fast at Kentucky until we had some motor problems, and Scott (Zipadelli, crew chief) and the guys have worked on it some more since then, so I’m excited for this weekend.”
