ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (August 23, 2016) ¬– The Olsbergs MSE Honda-powered outfit continues its bid for the manufacturer’s first victory in Red Bull Global Rallycross this weekend, when drivers Joni Wiman and Sebastian Eriksson compete in their Honda Red Bull OMSE Civics at Atlantic City’s Bader Field.

After a top-five finish at the Washington D.C. round, Wiman and Eriksson will focus on building upon the team’s three podium finishes so far this season. The two-day event at Bader Field marks the first time Red Bull GRC has visited New Jersey and the tristate area since 2014 in Long Island, N.Y.

The retired municipal airport, located just two miles from the famed Boardwalk, will host the longest course in series history. The 1.102-mile, 10-turn circuit utilizes the airfield’s waterfront asphalt runways and features Red Bull GRC’s signature 70-foot dirt jump. For the first time in series history, the Joker Lap will be a paved short-cut straightaway, bypassing the dirt section and jump.

“Just looking at the track map, I can tell we are really going have a blast in the Civic this weekend,” said Wiman, driver of the No. 31 Honda Red Bull OMSE Civic. “It looks long and fast and I think that bodes well for us. Sebastian [Eriksson] and I are eager to be on the top step of the podium and represent Honda, Red Bull and the entire Olsbergs MSE team.”

“Exiting Turn Two will really require a last-second call on whether to take the Joker Lap or not,” said Eriksson, driver of the No. 93 Honda Red Bull OMSE Civic. “I can’t wait to get back on track and impose our will on the rest of the field. The crew and car give us great opportunities every weekend. It’s time to capitalize on the pieces and give Honda and the team a great result.”

Honda remains third in the Red Bull GRC manufacturers’ championship heading into Round Nine. Coverage of Sunday’s action can be seen on NBC and begins at 3 p.m. ET, with online coverage by Red Bull TV beginning at 3:30 p.m.
