BACK-TO-BACK WATKINS GLEN VICTORIES FOR LOGANO WITH FORD PERFORMANCE!

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., August 8, 2016– Team Penske takes home their first NASCAR Xfinity win in 2016 with the No. 12 of Joey Logano. Logano’s Ford Mustang dominated the race from the pole position. Taking home his third overall win at The Glen and collected the sixth overall win for Team Penske in the 2016 season.

It was an all Team Penske with Roush Yates Engines and Ford Performance front row at the Zippo 200 in New York. The dynamic duel of Logano in the No. 12 and Keselowski in the No. 22 took the green flag at Watkins Glen International Speedway side-by-side for Team Penske. Logano secured the pole position running a top speed of 124.552mph during qualifying on Saturday, August 6th.

The Roush Yates Engines’ Ford FR9 race engine powered Logano to lead a race high of 67 laps, equaling 171 miles out of the 200 mile road race course.

Fuel strategy and tire management was the story during the 82 lap race, where the notorious bus stop and inner loop caused six cautions. This challenging road course found a hard charging Logano and teammate Keselowski battling for the lead. The No. 12 taking the lead for the final time with 26 laps to go, making it Logano’s 26th overall victory.

Roush Fenway Racing had a strong showing with the No. 60 of Trevor Bayne finishing fifth and Ryan Reed the No. 16 crossing the finish line in ninth position to hold onto his 10th place position in the NASCAR Xfinity Chase.
