WAS IT STRATEGY AT THE END THAT REALLY GOT YOU?
“I think we had the right strategy, just a little miscue on the last pit stop. Those guys have done great all year. They did great today. It just took me a little longer to get around a couple of those cars and lost the track position. I just have to thank everybody at our Jimmy John’s/Budweiser Chevrolet for everything they do. We were off on Friday and we were able to really rebound and have a good Saturday and good racecar today. It’s encouraging for two months.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–New Hampshire–Post Race

JOSEF NEWGARDEN, NO. 67 WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY CFH RACING CHEVROLET, FINISHED 2ND: WHAT WAS THAT FINAL LAP SHOOTOUT LIKE?
“Well it was tough. I really feared that if we were going to get into a shootout situation and we were behind, not leading that it was going to be tough for us. We didn’t quite have the ultimate speed. I think some of that is down to downforce choices tonight. We had a great racecar. I’m so proud of my guys. We had a really incredible car. It was fun to run here. You can’t beat running around Iowa in an Indy car. It’s unbelievably fun and I think more fun for me because we had such a great racecar. But it’s disappointing I’m really sad we lost that thing to be honest. I think we had a car to win. It’s just a shootout scenario we didn’t have what we needed at the end, but we still had a great effort all weekend. I’m really proud of my guys. Hopefully, we keep this momentum going.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Iowa Post Race

TEAM CHEVY DRIVER PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT
JULY 18, 2015

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 TARGET CHEVROLET SS met with media and discussed his past top finishes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, how the season is going thus far, how he is looking forward to running at Indianapolis next week, and more. Full Transcript:

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY AND WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TOMORROW TO GET TO THE FRONT OF THE FIELD?
“Last year we finished really well because our team called a really good race. We stayed out when a lot of people didn’t; which was the opposite of what a lot of people did as far as pit stops went. That gained us some track position and I was able to hold it throughout the races. Hopefully we can come back this year and do the same. We had a good car yesterday. I just made a mistake in qualifying, which got us behind on tires and then just qualified a little bit too bad. But, it should be all right. We’ll get some more practice today, depending on weather, and hopefully make the Target Chevy even faster.”

YOU’VE BEEN REALLY GOOD AT THIS TRACK. HOW MUCH HAVE YOU TARGETED THIS RACE AS ONE OF YOUR BEST CHANCES TO GET A WIN AND MAKE THE CHASE?
“I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about that. I would like to go to every track and have a shot at winning. This is our best statistical track, for sure; even going back to 2012 when I won the K&N race here and then I finished fourth in the Nationwide race and then had two top-3’s in the Cup Series last year. Yeah, I don’t know. Well see come tomorrow. I would like to win at every track and circle every track as one where we could get a win. But, this is the next one so it would be nice to get it here.”

DID YOU TRY TO GET IN A TRUCK FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT ELDORA OR ARE YOU JUST FOCUSING ON CUP?
“No, I didn’t try to get a ride, really. I told Tony (Stewart) if he could promise me it would be rough and hooked-up, I’d run. And he said he couldn’t promise me that and so I’m not running (laughs). But, now it looks like it’s going to rain on Tuesday, so the track will probably be hooked-up and rough on Wednesday. So, as it gets closer, I’m wishing I was racing it. But, it will be fun to watch on TV. It should be a good race.”

DID THE CHANGES COMING INTO THIS SEASON AS FAR AS THE HORSEPOWER AND DOWNFORCE CHANGES, IMPACT YOU PROGRAM TO THE POINT TO WHERE YOU GUYS ARE NOT RUNNING AS WELL AS YOU WERE LAST YEAR?
“I don’t know what it is. I feel like a lot of it is luck, where we ran decent. And then like last weekend, I get a flat left rear at the end of the race and finished 35th. So, we’ve had a handful of weekends like that. I definitely feel like our performance probably isn’t quite as good as it was at the end of last year. I don’t know if it’s a horsepower thing, or whatever it may be. But, we’re getting quicker and quicker every week. We just need to find bigger gains to getting more speed. Yeah, it’s been a little bit frustrating just how we haven’t had many good finishes. But it has been good to see that we’ve run around the top 10 for the majority of the races until the last run of the race, it seems like.”

IS IT HARDER TO DO THAT BECAUSE YOU’VE HAD AERO PACKAGE CHANGES?
“I feel like our team adjusts pretty well whenever NASCAR throws changes at us. We were quickest at most practices in Kentucky. Going back to Atlanta, me and Jamie (McMurray) were both fast to start the weekend. It just seems like maybe other teams have made bigger gains than we have, where last year I felt like we were making bigger gains than a lot of teams. So, I’m interested to go into next week, which is another kind of curveball for all the teams. That one will be a little bit different because we’ll be relying more on drafting probably, with other guys. But, I don’t know. I think our team, within our organization, does a really good job whenever NASCAR does throw changes. We’ve just got to keep making gains as we go.”

ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO RUNNING AT INDY NEXT WEEK? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?
“I love going to Indy. I spent some time there in 2011 and 2012 racing USAC stuff. So, I’ve got a lot of friends and stuff in the area. It’s almost like a second or third home behind California and North Carolina, to me. So yeah, I enjoy going there. Indy is just cool in itself just because it’s got so much history at that race track and it’s just so different and it’s a really nice facility. So, yeah, I love going there. We ran pretty well there last year. I’d like to go back again this year and do good, but it’s way different aero and horsepower than last year, so we’ve got to wait and see. But yeah, I’m looking forward to getting there and hanging out with some friends and the people I used to live with there. It’ll be fun to go there and hang out with them. They haven’t met (son) Owen yet, so that will be fun to take him there to hang out with them. We usually light off fireworks in the backyard at like 3:00 in the morning when they’re sleeping (laughs); so we might do that some, too.”

WHO DID YOU LIVE WITH THERE?
“Well, in 2011, I lived in Columbus with Pete Willoughby, who owns part of Keith Kunz Motorsports. But then in 2012, I lived in Avon, Indiana with Davey and Michelle Jones. They worked on our Sprint Car stuff that year and I had a lot of fun living there. We became really good friends.”

Hunter-Reay, Wilson Head Honda Practice Effort in Iowa
• Defending race winner leads both practice sessions for Honda
• Qualifying, final short oval race of 2015 take place Saturday

Two-time and defending Iowa Speedway race winner Ryan Hunter-Reay posted the third-fastest speed among Honda drivers in the first of two practice sessions Friday at the high-banked, 0.894-mile oval, in preparation for Saturday nights’s Iowa Corn 300. Hunter-Reay, winner in Iowa in both 2012 and 2014 – and second-place finisher in 2013 to then-teammate James Hinchcliffe – was 12th quickest in the evening session that concluded the day.

New addition to the Andretti Autosport lineup, Justin Wilson, posted the second-fastest Honda speed, finishing the pair of practice sessions 13th overall, just behind Hunter-Reay and ahead of 2011 Iowa race winner Marco Andretti. Wilson, who ran the Month of May for Andretti at Indianapolis, rejoined the team last week in Milwaukee for the remainder of the 2015 season.

Activities at Iowa Speedway, the second and final short oval race of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series, continue Saturday with qualifying, followed by the 300-lap race at 8 p.m. EDT, with live network television coverage on the NBC Sports Network.

Justin Wilson (#25 Andretti Autosport Honda): “I’m really pleased with the way the Honda feels – it’s driving well, can change lanes and run all over the track. We have to find a little bit more speed, but it’s definitely in the ballpark to be a challenger. Now it’s just a case of putting it all together and get ready. We’re the first car out for qualifying tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.”

PERMATEX/FOLLOW A DREAM WIN STREAK ENDS AT 9 ROUNDS IN CHICAGO SEMI’S

PERMATEX/FOLLOW A DREAM WIN STREAK ENDS AT 9 ROUNDS IN CHICAGO SEMI’S

Marstons Mills, MA-July 16, 2015-Jay Blake’s Permatex/Follow A Dream team reached the semifinals of the Route 66 Nationals, qualifying in the fast half of the field for the eighth time in eight starts this year and establishing top speed of the opening qualifying session. Driver Todd Veney defeated East Region rival Dan Pomponio in the first round and former Central Division champ Kirk Williams in the quarterfinals before falling to Wyoming’s Kris Hool in the semi’s.

“Getting to the semi’s – especially at a national event – usually means you’ve had a great weekend, but after the way we’ve been doing, it was almost a letdown,” said Veney, who was coming off back-to-back victories, including his first in national event competition. “It’s not a bad problem to have. The car ran great all weekend, and we had low e.t. of the second round, but for some reason it shook the tires in the semifinals the way everybody else had been the round before.”

With the semifinal showing, the team stands second in the national standings, just 10 points out of first. “That was another solid outing, another really good weekend,” Blake said. “The whole crew was under a lot of pressure in eliminations and really came through. Because of the live TV schedule for the pros, we had to wait six hours between the first round and the second round, and then had just 40 minutes between that round and the semi’s, but the guys got it done.”

The Permatex/Follow A Dream team’s next race is at the team’s home track, New England Dragway in Epping, N.H., but there’s no time to head home. The team will go straight from Route 66 Raceway outside Chicago to southern New Hampshire, where they’ll test on Thursday, qualify on Friday, and race under the lights Saturday night. Eliminations are set for 5:00; 7:00, and 9:00 p.m.

Team Bigfoot is Moving!

It’s Official – BIGFOOT 4X4, Inc. is moving to Pacific, Missouri!

July 8, 2015 (St. Louis, MO) -Tuesday, July 7, 2015 saw the Board of Aldermen of the City of Pacific grant final approval for the Conditional Use Permit to operate the World Headquarters of the Home of BIGFOOT® at 2286 Rose Lane in Pacific, MO.

Plans to move have been in the works for a while, but finally came to a head about 2 months ago when the Pacific property was stumbled across. The Hazelwood property hasn’t really fit for quite a while now. The 4-wheel-drive parts and service business were closed years ago. As a full-time BIGFOOT monster truck operation, more truck and tractor-trailer space, less office space, and space to expand was needed. The new property gives us all of that. Everyone here is very excited! Since BIGFOOT has been in the Hazelwood building for 31 years, there is a LOT of stuff to sort through and move.

The current plan is for the closing on both properties by the end of August. BIGFOOT then has 4 months to complete its move.

Although the new location does not have an actual “retail” department, fans will always be welcome to come by, pick up t-shirts, toys, and other great BIGFOOT stuff, see whatever trucks are in town, and, whenever possible, get a mini-tour of the new place!
