Jeg Coughlin Jr. ready for a ‘good time’ at Dodge NHRA Nationals
READING, Pa. (Sept. 27) — The Dodge NHRA Nationals this weekend would be a good time for Mopar Pro Stock drivers to shine, and five-time class champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. hopes he and his Magneti Marelli offered by Mopar/JEGS.com Dodge Dart can step up.

Maple Grove Raceway would be an apt place for Coughlin to perform well, as he has won there four times in his brilliant career. The 2016 season hasn’t gone as expected for Coughlin and his Elite Motorsports team, but he hopes he can gun for victory No. 5 there this weekend. Timothy Peters
No. 17 Red Horse Racing
Toyota Tundra

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Las Vegas Motor Speedway… Timothy Peters will pilot chassis No. 021 from the Red Horse Racing stable on Saturday in the DC Solar 350. This chassis was last used by Peters at Charlotte Motor Speedway where he finished in the seventh position.

Peters at Las Vegas… Peters has recorded eight starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and has one win (2013), five top-five and six top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 14.4 and an average finishing position of 9.4.

Race Rewind: New Hampshire… Timothy Peters earned a top-five finish in the first race of the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship. After taking the green flag from the front row, Peters battled a tight handling condition in traffic on his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Tundra. On his first pit stop on lap 53, the No. 17 team gave him four fresh Goodyear tires and a tank full of Sunoco fuel, and Peters would restart in the ninth position. Peters was able to remain in the top-10 and soon would climb back into the top five following a two-tire stop under caution on lap 105. Even though crew chief Shane Huffman continued to make adjustments, Peters battled a tight condition throughout the afternoon, but the veteran driver was able to capitalize on an outside restart position in several late race caution periods to gain track position and finish fifth.

Timothy Peters Quote:
On racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway…
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway). We have always had success there and we’re hoping to keep momentum on our side and win our first race of the year so we can advance to the next round of the Chase.”

Toyota Tundra

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Las Vegas Motor Speedway… On Saturday, Matt Tifft will race chassis number 020 in the DC Solar 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This chassis was last raced to the win at Michigan International Speedway by Brett Moffitt.

Immediate benefits you can feel – long-term brain health benefits you can feel good about.

Race Rewind: New Hampshire Motor Speedway… The opening round of the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase format began with an eighth-place finish for Brett Moffitt and the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team. Moffitt held his ground inside the top 10 on the first race run, amidst three cautions and subsequent restarts, and came to pit road under a lap 53 yellow. Under that caution, crew chief Scott Zipadelli made a track bar adjustment to aid his driver’s tight condition on corner exit to compliment two tires and fuel. While running 11th at the end of the race’s longest green flag run on lap 104, Moffitt came to pit road under yellow for four tires and more chassis changes to aid his balance. As the race’s final restart came on lap 137, Moffitt used the outside lane to complete a three-wide pass to take the eighth position, where he would run until the checkered flag. The finish has the No. 11 team fifth on the Chase Grid in the Owners’ Championship standings, three points ahead of the cutoff.

Matt Tifft Quote:
On racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway…
“I can’t wait to get to Las Vegas. We had a really good run at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier in the year, so I feel like we can duplicate some of that success this weekend. Scott (Zipadelli) and the guys have had great runs on mile-and-a-half tracks this year with the No. 11 Tundra, so I’m confident in what we can do this weekend.”

Ty Dillon and the No. 95 Death Wish Coffee Chevrolet team at Dover International Speedway

Ty Dillon and the No. 95 Death Wish Coffee Chevrolet team at Dover International Speedway … Ty Dillon will be making his first Sprint Cup Series start at the Monster Mile this weekend. However, Dillon is no stranger to Dover International Speedway; he has made seven NASCAR XFINITY Series starts and two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts. His best finish came earlier this year when he drove the No. 3 Rheem Chevrolet Camaro to a fifth-place finish in the XFINITY Series.

About Death Wish Coffee … Death Wish Coffee Company, home of “The World’s Strongest Coffee,” opened its doors in 2012. Death Wish is a mixture of Arabica and Robusta beans artfully blended to provide a high caffeine content with a smooth and dark flavor. The blend was born in the basement of owner, Mike Brown’s, coffee shop Saratoga Coffee Traders in Saratoga Springs, New York. Death Wish Coffee is the No. 1 best-selling coffee on Amazon.com and the top influential coffee brand online according to Market Watch. Death Wish Coffee is sold in over 300 grocery stores in the Northeast and is expanding distribution rapidly domestically and internationally.

Dillon in the Sprint Cup Series … Dillon is scheduled to make his 17th Sprint Cup Series start this weekend in the No. 95 Death Wish Coffee Chevrolet SS for Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing and his 10th of the 2016 season. Dillon has seen time as a back-up driver for Stewart-Haas Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing, as well as a part-time driver for CSLFR. His best finish came earlier this season in the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Chevrolet SS when he was a relief driver for Tony Stewart, crossing the finish line sixth at Talladega Superspeedway.

TY DILLON QUOTE:
You’ve raced for three different teams this season. What have you learned?
“What a great experience it has been for me this year. My main goal was to just log laps and learn as much as I could about these Cup cars. Experience is everything at this level because you are competing against guys that have been doing it for over 10 years. I think the biggest thing for me has been working with different teams and crew chiefs and understanding how they go about a race weekend. I understand how difficult it is to be successful in this series – you have to work at it. I can’t thank Circle Sport/Leavine Family Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing enough for the opportunities. If anything, I’ve learned that I can compete at this level and I hope to do so in the near future.”

Allen Johnson Leaves St. Louis with Sights Set on Regaining Momentum in Reading

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (September 27, 2016) – Marathon Petroleum/J&J Racing Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson has had a slower than expected start to his Countdown to the Championship efforts but with four races left, the dream is still alive for the 2012 Pro Stock World Champion to be the last man standing at the conclusion of the season. Johnson is hoping the 32nd annual Dodge NHRA Nationals is just the right place to grab the momentum the team had in the regular season.

“I still think we have a great racecar even thought we’ve lost early in the last two races,” Johnson said. “We’ve just got to make better decisions every single run and that’s what we’ll do in Reading. It’s always cold in Reading and we have a decent setup for that. When I think about Reading, I think about it being cold and we’re gonna go fast.”

Venom was knocked out of contention when both Swim and Dishman made it to Round 2, which would be the round that would decide it all! The fierce competitors were pitted against each other AND tied in the Racing Points Standings at this point! Dishman and Rammunition went to the line pretty confident, as they had just won the previous 2 races, while Swim and BIGFOOT fought engine problems all day Saturday. Austin Dillon and the No. 3 Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Team Give it All They Have to Earn 16th-Place Finish in Second Chase Race of the Season

“Truthfully, that was a heck of a fight today by the No. 3 Pumpkin Spice Cheerios team. We didn’t have a car capable of doing anything all day but we stayed focused and that means more to me than anything because at times this year we haven’t. It wasn’t our day, but we made the best out of the day we had. We are only five points out of the Chase cut off going into Dover International Speedway next week. We struggled all weekend long, but we fought hard. I never gave in, I never gave up, and our team never gave up. They had a heck of a pit stop there to put us in a lucky dog position, which helped us gain some additional points. Now we go to Dover and we’ve given ourselves a shot. We just have to go run well there.”

– Austin Dillon

Paul Menard and the Libman / Menards Chevrolet Team Finish 25th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

“The Libman / Menards Chevrolet fired off decent here at New Hampshire. With that long green-flag run to start the race, I was having to really use the track bar to help the handling of the car. Danny (Stockman, crew chief) and the guys took big swings during our first three stops. The front end of this Chevy just did not feel right, compared to our practices, and we unfortunately went a lap down to the leader around lap 100. We had a plan to get that lap back but the cautions didn’t fall in our favor to see that plan through. This car was much better than a 25th-place result. We’ll keep fighting at Dover next weekend.”

– Paul Menard

Final Restarts Not Ideal for Ryan Newman Resulting in 20th-Place Finish at New Hampshire

“The last two restarts did not go in our favor and cost us valuable track position. I all but got turned around and we were lucky. Unfortunately that killed our momentum which cost us a decent finish. For the most part we were a top-13 car. We were missing a little something today and that’s a shame. We qualified third and was hoping to better our starting spot but we just didn’t have the handling to back it up.”

– Ryan Newman

Bullins Looks To Build On New Hampshire Performance

Bullins Looks To Build On New Hampshire Performance

September 25, 2016

Ryan Blaney, his crew chief Jeremy Bullins and the entire Motorcraft/Quick Lane team are steadily building a reputation for being able to bounce back from mid-race adversity to record good finishes.

But being able to pull off a comeback at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a tall order, given the relative shortness of the races there.

In Sunday’s 300-mile run, which ran caution-free for the first 124 laps, Blaney, who started 16th, fell a lap behind the leaders during the long green-flag run.

He, Bullins and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team spent the next several runs working to get in position to rejoin the lead lap.

Finally, on a caution period at Lap 241 for a spin by Michael Annett, Blaney was running 17th and in position to claim the “Lucky Dog” free pass.

From that point on, Blaney steadily moved forward and wound up with a 12th-place finish, his 12th top-12 finish of his rookie season.

Despite the successful recovery, Bullins had mixed emotions about the team’s finish.

“Obviously we didn’t quite have the handling we were looking for and needed some speed,” Bullins said. “At the same time I couldn’t be prouder of the fight and determination to keep working on our car, making it better, getting the lucky dog and salvaging a solid finish.”

Bullins said the experience gained in Sunday’s comeback will pay dividends down the road.

“We learned some things with our last couple of adjustments that woke our car up and got us going a little bit,” he said. “Ryan and the team kept digging all day, and to walk away with another good finish is something we can be proud of.”

“We have a lot of positive things happening right now and need to take advantage of them the next eight weeks.”

Blaney, Bullins and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team return to the track next Sunday at Dover International Speedway for the Citizen Soldier 400.
