JOSEF NEWGARDEN, NO. 67 HARTMAN OIL CFH RACING CHEVROLET, RACE WINNER: WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR MIND ON THOSE FINAL FEW LAPS? “I was just so nervous and I can’t tell you how nervous I was. In racing I am normally not but it’s just been such a long time coming in trying to do this. I can’t believe now is when it happened. I knew that one of these days it was going to happen with this team because they are so solid. I just can’t think everybody enough that gave me an IndyCar job. Wink Hartman, Sarah Fisher, Libba Hartman and Andy O’Gara. It’s unbelievable what this has turned into and now I have Ed Carpenter in the group and Stewart and everyone who is involved. I really wouldn’t be here without all those guys because they made me into an IndyCar driver. It’s so hard to become a professional driver these days and they made me one. So I just want to thank them and everyone on our car. Chevrolet was incredible. I was just getting crazy fuel mileage with fast pace. So Chevys are just obviously really unbelievable cars and we are spanking the Hondas right now. Very happy to be with those guys because they took us under their wing. We have great partners with Direct Supply and Firestone tires which stayed underneath me and kept me just fine. I really don’t know what to say but I am just so happy that we have great partners, great owners, incredible team and group. Just happy we won this race finally.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Barber Motorsports Park

KURT BUSCH, NO. 41 HAAS AUTOMATION CHEVROLET SS – RACE WINNER
WITH EVERYTHING YOU’VE BEEN THROUGH THIS YEAR, WHAT DOES THIS WIN MEAN?
“It’s an incredible feeling. It’s a total team effort. And the way that everything came together just seemed like we were building and building and building towards a great finish like this. And I have this opportunity because of Gene Haas and everybody that’s part of our family at Stewart-Haas. It’s an unbelievable feeling when you pull deep from within and you go through troubles and you know, when you’re accused of something and things go sideways, your personal life doesn’t need to affect your business life. And I’m here in Victory Lane. It feels great to do it here in Richmond and to do with Haas Automation, Chevrolet, Monster Energy, Mobil 1, Rush Truck Centers and everybody that’s part of our family, and all these guys back here. But Tony Gibson is just an amazing crew chief and I’m glad I’ve got the chance to work with him. Thanks to everybody, we got it done today. The car was pretty good.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–NASCAR–Richmond Post Race

HELIO CASTRONEVES, NO. 3 AAA INSURANCE TEAM PENSKE CHEVROLET, POLE SITTER: ON HIS QUALIFYING: “My boys from AAA Team Penke we worked it through and each session we were improving our time. The car was really good and certainly my teammates, Will (Power) and Simon (Pagenaud) and Juan (Pablo Montoya) as well but unfortunately he wasn’t in the top-six. But, it is so close guys. You have to push until the end. Our experience and quickness we put everything together. It is really exciting, especially for this place. It is very difficult pass. Starting in the front doesn’t mean anything, but I’m going to have the best seat in the house. I told the guys to check everybody’s times because I am going to go for it and I don’t want to cause a yellow. Then he said it doesn’t look like anyone is going quick, I pitted and that was it. The car was extremely good. We worked through the entire day and chipped away at it. It was awesome.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Grand Prix of Alabama

HOW WILL THIS WIN RANK AMONGST THE OTHERS?
“I was lucky enough to win here back in the day in 2009 in Indy Lights; I’ve never had a chance since then. But a huge credit to the team. I don’t know what happened to Helio (Castroneves) and TK (Tony Kanaan) there in the crossover in the pit stop exchange there. I still can’t believe we won here at Long Beach. It’s such a memorable and worthy track. I’m just so stoked. There are so many Target people here today, too. It’s one of their events and it’s just fantastic. I can’t believe we’ve done it. HELIO CASTRONEVES, NO. 3 AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEAM PENSKE CHEVROLET, POLE SITTER: “First off, I want to thank AAA. It was awesome. It was on rails. We really worked very hard. The team from yesterday, especially last night, we changed everything in the car and it was awesome. I want to thank Roger (Penske, team owner), Jonathan (Diuguid, engineer), Travis (Law, chief mechanic) and really the whole team. It was not pretty last night, but it proved that we were able to keep pushing. The strategy was great. To get the pole with the teammates I have, it’s really cool. Now we have to keep pushing. Chevy did a great job as well because (the series) took away some things from us but we were able to overcome those issues and now we’re in the No. 1 spot.” Continue reading Chevy Racing–INDYCAR–Long Beach Qualifying
