CROSSLINK/KIWI MOTORSPORT SWEEPS PODIUM IN WEEKEND FINALE AT PITTSBURGH

Joshua Car, James Raven and Teddy Wilson finish on podium in Round 11

WAMPUM, PA (Aug. 8, 2018)- Crosslink/Kiwi Motorsport was in an element all of its own during the fourth Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda event held at Pittsburgh International Race Complex Aug. 3-5. The newly combined five-car squad topped the qualifying charts at the start of the weekend, clocking the top-four fastest laps, taking the top two steps in Round 10, a win in Round 11 and completely smashing the competition on Sunday with a complete podium sweep, marking the first time in F4 U.S. history that one team represented each step.

Menard Ready To Build On Recent Michigan Success In This Weekend’s Consumers Energy 400

Paul Menard is headed back to Michigan International Speedway hoping he and the No. 21 Earn While You Learn/NewFordTech.com team can pick up where they left off there a couple of months back.

In the June 10 Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan, Menard earned six Stage points en route to a season-best, fifth-place finish.

“When we get there we’ll start off with the car similar to how it was when we ended in June and work on a few things from there,” Menard said, adding the he enjoys the high speeds at the home track of Ford Motor Company. In June, Menard posted lap speeds over 200 miles per hour in practice and in the first two rounds of qualifying. Ven Racing Update

Steve from Ven Racing on the DME bike is on a flyer at the moment in May we won the Main Event meeting at Santa pod and reset the European ET record at 6.92 seconds and reset the track record for mph at 214mph And then in June at the summer nationals we reset both ACU British records with 6.92 second 1/4 mile and 211 mph, but also reset the track mph record again at 215 mph . Hopefully we can now go to Hockenheim which has never been a lucky place for me and be the first to run a 6 second pass there.

The past weekend saw the Drift Masters European Championship return for Round 3. The highly anticipated ‘King Of Riga’ round promised to bring some of the best action from the series both on and off track. The Biķernieki Circuit played host to 60 drivers and a 5000+ crowd for the two day event.

Baggsy was excited to debut his new LSX-R 454 V8 powered PS13 at Round 3. The team at SB Motorsport have been hard at work completely rebuilding the PS13, which is now sporting a 600+hp Chevrolet V8, new styling, livery and a whole host of other goodies. The Permatex/Follow A Dream Top Alcohol Funny Car team enjoyed its best weekend of the season, capturing a win this past Saturday in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Northeast Division race at Atco Dragway in New Jersey.

“The hot rod’s back!” team owner Jay Blake exuberantly said. “The car did what we wanted to. When we made a change, it responded.”

2017 F4 U.S. Champion Kirkwood continues his success in F3 Americas. Leguizamon, Southern and Portante all score podiums on final day.

WAMPUM, PA (Aug. 7, 2018)- Kyle Kirkwood of Jupiter, Florida, dominated the world debut of the F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda at Pittsburgh International Race Complex Aug. 3-5, sweeping the three-race inaugural weekend. Kirkwood capped off Sunday with a pair of wins, taking the checkered nearly 15 seconds ahead of second place in both races.

“It’s quite an overwhelming feeling to come in and win all three races,” said Kirkwood. “The F3 Americas car has been fantastic. Considering we received the car on the Sunday prior to the event, we were able to get a quick and balanced setup instantly. The Abel Motorsports crew did an incredible job and I couldn’t be happier with the performance we produced over the weekend. Inside Line Promotions – OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 7, 2018) – Dominic Scelzi recorded a pair of top-10 finishes last weekend during the 28th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank.

Scelzi kicked off the marquee event at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Thursday by qualifying 12th quickest out of 43 drivers after a mechanical problem early in the night prevented him from competing in hot laps. He then placed fifth in a heat race before rallying from sixth to second place in the B Main to transfer into the back of the main event. COMP Cams title sponsor of SOD End-of-the-Year Shootout at Berlin Raceway

ERIE, MI (August 7, 2018) – COMP Cams will be the title sponsor when Engine Pro Sprints On Dirt presented by ARP returns to Berlin Raceway on Saturday, September 29, for the End-of-the-Year Shootout.

SOD returns to the most unique venue it has ever raced at. Berlin Raceway is renown among paved short tracks, but for a few weeks each autumn, it is transformed into a dirt track. Saturday, September 29, the raceway will present its dirt finale with SOD’s COMP Cams End-of-the-Year Shootout. Brenda Grubbs Motorsports left Magnolia, Texas to head to the Denver National event on Tuesday, July 17. After Denver, plans were to hit the Topeka Double Header Divisional race on the way home. The grass was mowed, mail held, and the motorhome was packed with enough clothes and food for two weeks. An extra suitcase was packed for Brenda as she had a business trip to Costa Rica scheduled the day after Topeka.
With everything packed, the only thing missing was the Stocker. After yet another failed dyno attempted, it was decided new pistons were in order. With this new discovery, the motor was not available for the Denver or Topeka events. Continue reading The Time Slip–Brenda Grubbs

Chad Blonde crowned SOD 2018 Hog Creek Showdown Champ

ERIE, MI (August 6, 2018) – The four-race Butler Motor Speedway/Engine Pro Sprints On Dirt presented by ARP Hog Creek Showdown wrapped up with the Butler Bash Friday and Saturday. Chad Blonde took the championship and will receive a $1,000 payout at the Sprints On Dirt Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 27 at the Battle Creek (MI) Holiday Inn. The top five will receive a share of the point fund.

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 6, 2018) – Giovanni Scelzi enjoyed a successful weekend at Knoxville Raceway, which hosted the 28 th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank and the 7th annual Weld Racing Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank.

Scelzi guided the Bernie Stuebgen owned No. 71 sprint car to a top five during 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary action and a seventh-place run out of more than 90 competitors during the finale before capping the weekend with an 11th-place finish out of 67 drivers during the Capitani Classic. KENT, Wash. (Aug. 05, 2018) — Courtney Force and the Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS team raced to their career best sixth final round of the season Sunday at the CatSpot NHRA Northwest Nationals ending the day with their second runner-up finish. Robert Hight made a quarterfinal finish and John Force and Brittany Force ended their racing early in the first round at Pacific Raceways outside of Seattle.

Entering race day as the No. 3 qualifier, Courtney Force powered her Advance Auto Parts Chevy Camaro past familiar foe Jim Campbell in the first round of eliminations. Both Force and Campbell left the starting line early but Force’s light of -.015 compared to Campbell’s -.296 allowed her to move on to the second round while he earned the red-light.
