SONOMA, Calif. (July 21, 2022) – Brittany Force and the Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy Chevrolet dragster will try to regain the Top Fuel point lead by becoming the first John Force Racing driver, outside of Funny Car, to win at Sonoma Raceway at this weekend’s DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals. Seeking her fourth win of the season, the 2013 NHRA Rookie of the Year will build on a foundation she laid last year in Sonoma when she qualified No. 1 in her Flav-R-Pac dragster. Force also was the No. 1 qualifier in 2014 and is the track record holder for speed at 335.15 mph, a mark she set on July 28, 2019. “Sonoma is next on the list on this Western Swing. Coming out of a tough Denver this Flav-R-Pac team is excited to go right into the next event,” Force said. “We will readjust coming off the mountain and back down to sea level. Our game plan is to qualify this Flav-R-Pac car top three Friday night, make two solid passes Saturday and go out and win this event Sunday. I love this track and would love to win in wine country.” Sitting just 10 points out of the Top Fuel lead, Force has recorded victories at the Las Vegas Four-Wide event, the SpringNationals in Houston and the Virginia Nationals in Richmond while also tallying four No. 1 qualifying positions. Force also now holds the track ET record at 10 of the current NHRA Camping World Drag Racing tracks on tour and the speed record at 12. Racing at the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway begins with qualifying Friday at 8 p.m. PT and Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. with eliminations beginning at 10:30 a.m. Television coverage of the event will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) for qualifying on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Eliminations will air on FOX Broadcasting Network Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. |
