Giovanni Scelzi Set to Tackle Most of the All Star’s Ohio Speedweek

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (June 11, 2019) – Giovanni Scelzi is returning to Ohio this weekend to tackle the famed Ohio Speedweek.

The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions event showcases nine straight days of races at eight different tracks throughout The Buckeye State. Scelzi and car owner Bernie Stuebgen will miss the opener this Friday.

“Missing the first race eliminates us from the points so we’ll just be racing for wins,” Scelzi said. “I like all the tracks I’ve been to in Ohio. They are all places where you can race.”

After the opening round, the Ohio Speedweek races consist of events on Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg; on Sunday at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville; June 17 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville; June 18 at Sharon Speedway in Hartford; June 19 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe; June 20 at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield; June 21 at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima; and June 22 at Wayne County Speedway.

Scelzi has been to all of the tracks on the Speedweek schedule except Atomic Speedway and Muskingum County Speedway.

“I think we’ve had good runs at a bunch of different tracks in Ohio so we’re looking forward to Speedweek,” he said. “I know we have great speed and I feel pretty confident heading into this weekend.”

Scelzi’s most recent start was May 31 at Mansfield Motor Speedway, where he qualified second quickest in his group and overcame a crash in a heat race by charging from 21st to seventh in a COMP Cams Sprint Car World Championship A Main. It was his 15th top 10 of the season.
