Dominic Scelzi Earns Podium Finish at Thunderbowl Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – TULARE, Calif. (May 1, 2019) – Dominic Scelzi continued his podium streak behind the wheel of a Roth Motorsports sprint car by maneuvering to a third-place result last Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway.

Scelzi qualified sixth quickest to start the night before he advanced from third to second place in a heat race. That narrowly missed a spot into the dash and lined him up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“Making the dash really sets you up to be able to contend for wins,” he said. “We just missed it, but we had a good car that could maneuver forward. We ended the night with a positive result.”

Scelzi’s charge from seventh to third place gives him four podiums in as many starts with Roth Motorsports this season.

“I can’t thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, Todd Ventura and the team enough for giving me a top-notch ride night in and night out,” he said. “It’s a huge boost of confidence to continue to ride a podium streak.”

Scelzi is scheduled to spend his 22nd birthday weekend by racing with Roth Motorsports this Friday and Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. Saturday’s show is with the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series. He earned his first career win at the bullring with a last-lap pass in September 2016.

“We’ve run well there the last few years so I’m looking forward to getting two shows in at the same track this weekend,” he said. “The Roth Motorsports car has been a contender at every race this year and I anticipate having a car capable of winning both nights in Chico.”
