NHRA® Team Report
NHRA® Four-Wide Nationals – Las Vegas
Cruz Pedregon’s Snap-on Funny Car will have a new look when it takes to The Strip this weekend. The team has been in the shop getting the car ready to race in the second annual four-wide at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a Snap-on franchise-themed paint scheme. “I’m very involved with Snap-on franchisees and spend time riding along or hosting events with them before almost every NHRA race,” Cruz said. “These are incredibly hard-working professionals. Many of them turned wrenches for a living before they became Snap-on franchisees, and others were in office and management jobs and love the tools just like I do. They are so committed to the brand they take to shops in their routes that it’s fun to spend time talking tools and racing with their customers. It’s even better that so many of them are racing fans who enjoy coming out and bringing folks with them to the track, so we’re proud to have the Snap-on franchise paint scheme on the car for the next four races.”
“The car looks awesome, and it’s gonna run even better than it looks,” says Glenn Huszar, Cruz’s crew chief. “Four-wide is an exciting way to race, and it paid off last year for Cruz when we won in Charlotte. We’ll be tuning with that win in mind this weekend.”
For those who’ll be watching from the stands and on FOX, the paint scheme on the Snap-on Dodge is one of the cleanest franchise-focused designs to date. It has been nicknamed “The Point” by the design team because the key feature is a broad red stripe that tapers to a point at the front of the car. It was inspired by “the way Cruz’s car pierces the wind as he accelerates to more than 300 mph.” The hood is stamped with the large “Own It” message encouraging potential franchisees to do just that, and the fins highlight the recent Entrepreneur Magazine rankings which lists Snap-on a top choice for people seeking a franchise opportunity and veterans. Snap-on is the primary sponsor of Cruz Pedregon Racing. Images of the new paint scheme available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ykwxxe7psta0v2s/2019%20SnaponFunnyCar_Design%20FINAL.pdf?dl=0
On the side of Cruz’s car – Check out Cruz’s car this week, and you’ll see the name of area Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Steve Welter. He’ll be celebrating his first anniversary as a franchisee when he’s here with us at the track this weekend. Steve says he’s always loved and used tools and his favorite part of having a Snap-on franchise is interacting with all kinds of people who use tools. He’s been coming to the The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for more than a decade, and he’ll have his family and a couple dozen customers with him here this year.
