Dominic Scelzi Set for Season Debut in Roth Motorsports Ride Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (Feb. 18, 2019) – Dominic Scelzi is slated to make his first start of the season with Roth Motorsports this Saturday when the team travels to Keller Auto Speedway.

The opportunity is an exciting one for Scelzi, who has three career feature victories at the oval in Hanford, Calif.

“We ran three races last year and they reshaped the track,” he said. “It was so different. The first time it was slick and wide with no cushion. There was nothing to lean on. We were able to win by quite a bit. When we went back for the Cotton Classic it was wet, hooked up and rough. You could run anywhere around the track, but you had to dodge the holes.”

In addition to the triumph in April, Scelzi also posted a top five in both the 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car divisions during the Cotton Classic in October.

This Saturday’s race is also the first in approximately 30-to-35 races in a Roth Motorsports entry for Scelzi.

“Any time you jump into a deal like what we have with Roth Motorsports you go there to win the race,” he said. “That’s the goal and that’s the plan. This is motor sports and it’s very unpredictable. I feel like we should be pretty quick, but it’s a new car and everything is all new. Hopefully we can be fast out the gate. I’m grateful to Dennis and Teresa Roth, Todd Ventura and everyone at Roth for the opportunity and I look forward to making the most out of it.”
