TEAM CHEVY NOTES & QUOTES:
KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 FIRST DATA/CLOVER CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 10th
“We made it to the final round, so that is good. I just had a little wheel hop in that last round, otherwise we could have gone a little bit faster. This starting spot helps with pit selection. We were just so-so in practice, but that is what we typically are in practice. It’s a long race. I just have to make sure I stay calm, and we will be okay. Hopefully I can maintain good track position throughout the day and we can have a solid day.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 12th
WHAT DID YOU GUYS FIND IN THE CAR THAT GOT YOU INTO THE FINAL ROUND?
“I think we just kind of nailed our laps in the second round and that kind of led to some more speed there. It was still kind of a struggle in that last round, but overall pretty happy to start in the top 12 is good a lot better than we were the last time here, so still got a little bit of work to do for me to get this place figured out a little more, but it’s definitely coming to me more. Hopefully, it trends that direction in the race.

AJ ALLMENDINGER, NO. 47 KROGER CLICKLIST CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 17th
HOW WAS YOUR RUN OUT THERE?
“Well, not too bad. Just a little bad luck on that first run out there. We got a caution. And, I’m not sure if that extra heat cycle on the tires hurt, but overall the Kroger Clicklist Chevy has been fast. I’ve been happy with it. At our best, we’ve never had a lot of great short run speed here. We always focus on long run speed. I felt good about practice. I would have liked to have gotten in the top 10, but it’s Martinsville and it’s so close. We’ll have a decent starting spot. I started out 25th or 26th here in the Spring and drove to the front. So, we’ll do the same again.”

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 SUNENERGY 1 CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 21st
WHAT DID YOU NEED DURING THAT ROUND?
“To go a lot faster. It just wasn’t… didn’t do a real good job, just a lot of work to do.”

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE PACK?
“Not getting lapped.”
