Honda Performance Development Announces New HPD Civic Si Race Car
• Complete, “turn key” Civic Si racer to be produced by HPD
• Will be eligible for Pirelli World Challenge, SCCA and NASA competition
• HPD to supply technical support through Honda Racing Line

SONOMA, Calif. (October 19, 2018) – After the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the racing Civic Si concept shown at last year’s Performance Racing Industry show, Honda Performance Development (HPD) is pleased to launch the HPD Civic Si Race Car program. HPD plans to build, sell and support a turnkey, current-gen Honda Civic Si race car, and create additional opportunities to use the highly capable, reliable, and affordable Civic in racing series such as the 2019 Pirelli World Challenge TCA, SCCA T3, and NASA H2 classes.

As with last year’s Pirelli World Challenge TCA champion race car driven by Tom O’Gorman, the Civic Si is a dynamic and proven racing platform that is affordable and fun to drive. Like HPD’s other Civic touring car race cars, the HPD Civic Si race car will be built from the HPD Civic Body-in-White, which debuted at the 2016 SEMA show. HPD will include a full complement of race-tested performance parts used in running the car during the past two seasons in the Pirelli World Challenge, as well as technical support and documentation through its HPD Racing Line program.
The complete race car is priced at $52,500 (excluding delivery from Santa Clarita, CA) and includes an installed roll cage, HPD-developed and homologated parts including engine, suspension, exhaust, and electronics packages. A full list of included racing components is available at hpd.honda.com/CivicSi.
“Since its launch, the current Civic Si has shown that it continues the legacy of racing success and performance for our customers. We’re committed to providing the best Honda racing products to our Racing Line customers, and our in-house Honda Racing engineers ensure that they are developed, tested, and supported more extensively than any other available products,” said John Whiteman, Manager, HPD Commercial Motorsports. “We’re pleased to expand our Civic offerings to Racing Line members to include these new Civic Si race cars, and we can’t wait to see them in competition
