BOWTIE BULLETS
CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE:
Chevrolet leads all other manufacturers with 11 victories at Kansas Speedway. Five different drivers piloting four different nameplates have taken their Chevrolet race cars to Winner’s Circle at the 1.5-mile track.

CHEVY PLAYOFF UPDATE:
Following his win in the No. 9 Camaro ZL1 at Dover International Speedway two weeks ago, Chase Elliott is safe from elimination this weekend at Kansas Speedway and will be moving on to the Round of 8. Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman are still in contention to move on to the Round of 8, but both are in all, but must win situations heading into Kansas.

CHEVY CHART TOPPER:
Chevrolet holds the Kansas Speedway track qualifying record of 197.733 mph set on October 3, 2014.

CHEVY MILESTONE:
Did you know? Career Chevrolet drivers, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are tied for the most wins at Kansas Speedway with three wins each to their credit. If Johnson were to win this weekend, not only would he surpass his former teammate in wins at Kansas, but he would collect his 84th career victory putting him in a tie for fourth with Bobby Allison and Darrel Waltrip on the all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins list. It would also continue his streak – 17 seasons – of winning at least one race each season he has been a Cup Series driver.

APPROACHING 700:
The next pole recorded by a Chevrolet Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver will be Chevrolet’s 700th pole at NASCAR’s premier level, more than any other manufacturer.

TUNE-IN:
The Hollywood Casino 400 is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 21 at 2 pm, ET. Live coverage can be found on NBC, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:
CHEVROLET DRIVERS IN PLAYOFF CONTENDERS:
CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 MOUNTAIN DEW CAMARO ZL1 – 5TH IN STANDINGS
“Over my first couple of years competing in the Cup Series, we have had a couple of really good runs at Kansas. We have struggled there at times as well, but when we have hit it we have been good, I feel like we have had good runs there. I think we can certainly have a good run there. We were able to test there which I felt like was good. So, I’m definitely looking forward to getting to Kansas.”

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 MCDONALD’S TRICK. TREAT. WIN! CAMARO ZL1 – 11TH IN STANDINGS
“We have one goal this weekend at Kansas and that’s winning the race and advancing in the playoffs. Knowing that our only real chance of advancing is to win the race sort of takes the pressure off a little bit and we can go to Kansas not worrying about a bunch of other scenarios. We’ve been good at Kansas in the past and I feel good about our chances there this weekend. The track is pretty smooth and has a lot of grip, and I think those characteristics suit our intermediate cars and my style. Hopefully our McDonald’s Chevy is fast and we have a good weekend.”

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 88 NATIONWIDE CAMARO ZL1 – 12TH IN STANDINGS
“You can move around and run a bunch of different grooves at Kansas. It seems to be pretty dominated by the top here recently, but it’s fun to run up there. I am definitely more optimistic leading into 1.5-mile races these next few weeks. I think it will be a good showing for us.”

CHEVROLET DRIVERS NOT IN PLAYOFF CONTENTION:
AUSTIN DILLON, NO. 3 DOW CAMARO ZL1 – 13TH IN STANDINGS
“Kansas is one of those places now where the top groove I think is almost preferred as you run, but if your car can continue to turn on the bottom you are usually really fast. It’s a fun track because there are three lanes. You work the middle, the top and the bottom. It’s a fast track, there is a lot of grip out there. It has become one of the more fun tracks to go to.”

JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 LOWE’S FOR PRO’S CAMARO ZL1 – 14TH IN STANDINGS
“The way we ran at Las Vegas last month was really encouraging. We had a top-five car until we cut a tire down. I’m encouraged about the progress on the No. 48 team and am looking forward to Kansas.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 UNIFIRST CAMARO ZL1 – 22ND IN STANDINGS
“Kansas is a good track – it’s smooth and you can move around a lot. The day race will have more lap-time falloff, so that will be fun. Hopefully we can build on some of the mile-and-a-half strength we’ve shown lately and have a good run.”

CHRIS BUESCHER, NO. 37 BUSH’S CHILI BEANS CAMARO ZL1 – 23RD IN STANDINGS
“I think this weekend at Kansas Speedway is going to be a little bit of redemption for us. We had one of our best starting positions of the year there in the spring, but got caught in a late-race wreck that ended our night early. I know the speed is there in our 1.5-mile track program at JTG Daugherty Racing, and we tested there last month and found some things that I think will really bring speed to our BUSH’S Beans Chili Beans Camaro ZL1. I really enjoy racing at Kansas Speedway since the repave. The track is really starting to widen out and create more lane options for us. The weather will definitely be a factor with the cooler temperatures, but we will never complain about having more grip in the race car. It’s just a place that has a good, smooth racing line around there without some of the real choppiness that you get at some of these other places that makes it hard to race or hard to get a handle on.”

AJ ALLMENDINGER, NO. 47 KROGER CLICKLIST CAMARO ZL1 – 24TH IN STANDINGS
“We’re happy to have positive momentum heading into Kansas Speedway this weekend. We had a strong run at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, and it’s that positive momentum that will give us a good head start for this weekend. Kansas Speedway has really gotten back to its old ways since the repave, with a lot more character and bumps in the turns. The groove has really widened out, and it’s a driver’s choice of what lane to run. I think the weather will really affect this race as well. When we raced in the spring, it was warm and at night. Heading there this weekend, it’ll be much cooler and that will give the track a lot more grip. Our teammate tested there last month and I think we have a lot of good notes to go off of for this race, and continue our momentum as we head into the final five races of the season.”

DARRELL ‘BUBBA’ WALLACE, NO. 43 TRANSPORTATION IMPACT CAMARO ZL1 – 27TH IN STANDINGS
I feel like we have done a ton of progress to our 1.5-mile program. We were a solid third place car in Vegas this year which after the first Vegas race, I never thought we would go back there and be that strong. It was cool to be able to do that, but yeah, it will be interesting to see whose 1.5-mile program is where. Kansas is kind of an interesting place being a repave, Texas as well being a new configuration. So, they are kind of interesting 1.5-miles, not the normal ones but I’m looking forward to the next couple of races. I think if we can make the Round of 8 there are some really great race tracks for us, especially going to Martinsville and Phoenix, but we’ve got to get there first.”

TY DILLON, NO. 13 GEICO CAMARO ZL1 – 28TH IN STANDINGS
“Kansas is going to be another benchmark race for our GEICO Racing team. The spring race was difficult for us. We didn’t have the speed that we thought we would. In the five months since we’ve been there, our car has changed so much. We have a better feel for the Camaro ZL1, more knowledge about the new tech inspection system and have been working really hard to build our intermediate track program. We’re heading out there and expecting to see improvements in our performance, and I think that we will.”

REGAN SMITH, NO. 95 TOMMY WILLIAMS DRYWALL CAMARO ZL1
“Kansas is a track that I thoroughly enjoy. It’s wide, it’s fast, and there’s lots of different grooves that you can run. I love when it’s hot and slick and you can run along the wall, although it’s probably not going to be as hot this weekend as we typically see there like we would for the May race based on the weather forecast. With the lack of downforce on the cars, I still think that we’ll be able to run up along the wall though. Talladega was a good finish for the team in the fact that it gave us some good momentum being able to get a top-10 finish. It lets us continue to build on that, and ever since I’ve been in the No. 95, I’ve felt like the bigger tracks have been a little more of our strong suit, so I’m excited about getting to Kansas this weekend.”
