Chevrolet “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Content Available from Talladega Superspeedway Survivor Event

Chevrolet has made available for media use, high-definition video interviews with Team Chevy drivers Austin Dillon and Ryan Newman, as well as, interviews with breast cancer survivor, Cathy Robbins and the American Cancer Society’s Senior Manager of Community Development, Libba Hardwick. Also included is an interview with male survivor, Kurt DeAngelis, and his wife, Vickie of Alabaster, AL.

Below, media can also find, b-roll footage and event photography from today’s event at Talladega Superspeedway where Chevrolet, in conjunction with NASCAR and Talladega Superspeedway hosted 25 breast cancer survivors and their guests as part of Chevrolet’s eighth year supporting the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. Guest experienced hot laps in a pink Camaro SS pace car around the 2.66-mile track with Chevy drivers Austin Dillon and Ryan Newman. They were also treated to a breakfast hospitality experience complete with a unique activity, a driver question-and-answer session, autographs, photos, and tickets to the race.

Since 2011, Chevrolet, dealers, and GM Employees have contributed nearly $10 Million to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research, education for health care professionals, screening guidelines, and promotion for early detection and patient resources.

Chevrolet will pace at both this weekend’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Blubs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway and the First Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway with a pink Chevrolet Camaro SS pace car. For every lap the pink pace car “leads” the field under caution, Chevrolet will donate $350 per lap (up to $50,000) to the MSABC program.

Chevrolet is also contributing to the American Cancer Society partnership via a social media engagement program that encourages people to ‘Share Who Inspires Them to End This Disease’ by using the hashtag #IDriveFor.  Chevrolet will donate $5 for every social post using #IDriveFor (up to $400,000) on Twitter or Instagram during the month of October.
