F4 U.S. CAR AND DRIVERS TO REPRESENT HONDA AT HONDA INDY 200

LEXINGTON, OHIO (July 26, 2018)- Before traveling to Pittsburgh International Race Complex, the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda car will be on display in the Honda Fan Zone at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during the Honda Indy 200.

Ohio-native John Paul Southern Jr.’s carbon fiber black F4 U.S. Championship car will be at the center of the Northern Ohio Honda Dealers / AHM Display on the Manufacturers Midway July 27-29.

“It’s an honor to have my car on display for thousands of racing fanatics to see,” said Southern. “I look forward to representing Honda throughout the weekend.”

Southern and fellow Ohio-native Braden Eves will also make an appearance on the Honda fan stage on Sunday at 10:30 a.m for a question and answer segment, warming the audience for racing legend Mario Andretti.

“I am absolutely honored to have the opportunity to represent F4 and Honda on the Honda Stage at Mid-Ohio this weekend,” said Eves. “It is an amazing opportunity to talk just moments before Mario Andretti. I can’t wait.”

The Honda Fan Zone will include a variety of Honda and Acura production and specialty vehicles, including the Acura DPi, the Acura NSX-GT3 and Takuma Sato’s replica Honda-Powered IndyCar. Besides Andretti and the F4 competitors, the Honda Fan Zone will also host guests like Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato and IndyCar rookie Pietro Fittipaldi.

The F4 U.S. Honda Civic Type R detuned engine is built in Anna, Ohio. HPD offers teams the ability to lease engines with the option to buy after the first year. The objective is to make the F4 U.S. Championship an attainable and affordable race series with the competitor and race team in mind.

Spectators attending race weekend can take pictures by the F4 U.S. Championship car on Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and on race day from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
