Giovanni Scelzi Tackling All Star Races at Knoxville Raceway and 34 Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (July 24, 2018) – Giovanni Scelzi will return to Iowa this weekend for a pair of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races.

Scelzi and car owner Bernie Stuebgen are scheduled to compete on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville and on Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington.

“I’d like to be inside the top 10 on Saturday and hopefully contend for the win on Sunday,” Scelzi said.

Saturday will mark Scelzi’s fourth career start at Knoxville Raceway, where he recorded a career-best outing of 13th last month during a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series event.

“I think going back to Knoxville will be good because I’ve been there a couple of times,” he said. “We’ve had some decent runs and have been fast. Hopefully we can make the show, run the distance and learn. That’s the game plan.”

Scelzi won his debut at 34 Raceway last year during a Sprint Invaders event.

“The track was really nice, slick to a cushion with a bottom,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll have a similar surface. It’s a smaller place and I seem to run better on the short tracks so that’s another positive for us.”

Following this weekend’s action Scelzi and Stuebgen plan on tackling the 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, a pair of races at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, as well as the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway during the first two weeks of August.
