Cruz Pedregon–Colorado Advance

NHRA® Team Report
Mile-High NHRA Nationals – Morrison, CO
Pre-Race Report

NHRA fans will see a new body and paint scheme on the Snap-on Toyota when Cruz Pedregon and team roll into Bandimere Speedway. “We’re excited to continue the team’s tradition of naming our Funny Car bodies, and we’ll be introducing ‘El Chicano’ this weekend and its new Snap-on Franchise ‘Own It’ paint scheme,” says Cruz. “The body name is one that reflects my heritage as a Mexican American, and I’m ready to show it off to fans watching the events at Mile-High this weekend.”

Crew Chief Aaron Brooks says, “It feels like a fresh start as we head to Denver with a new body and look on the Snap-on Toyota. We even had the Snap-on toolboxes trimmed out with custom pinstriping that will give the team and everyone coming by our pit a whole new energy as we head into the Western Swing.”

Sporting the franchise paint scheme is important to Cruz since he’s been through Snap-on franchisee training and spends time with local franchisees before and during races throughout the season. The new Snap-on Franchise paint scheme is emblazoned with highly-visible, bold typography that reads “Dream It, Drive It, Own It…the #1 Tool Franchise – 2018 Entrepreneur Franchise 500,” a reference to the highly-respected annual media outlet ranking of top franchise opportunities. The distinctive “Own It” seal appears in Snap-on’s signature red on the hood. “Own It” also reads as an overlay on the car’s side panel and atop the spoiler. The muted grayscale palette allows the Snap-on red to “pop” on camera and for fans at the track. The El Chicano body and Snap-on Franchise paint scheme will run through Brainerd. Snap-on is the primary sponsor of Cruz Pedregon Racing.

On the side of Cruz’s car –
Check Cruz’s car this week, and you’ll see the name of area Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Shawn Myers. Shawn was an automotive technician in his previous career and says he most enjoys going into shops, meeting new people and making new friends. Last year was his first time at Mile-High, and he says bringing his 10-year-old son and wife to the track was a “really cool experience.” He was really amazed by the speed, horsepower and how fast the techs work in the pits and is looking forward to the race this weekend.
