QUOTABLE QUOTES:
NASCAR MONSTER ENERGY ALL-STAR ENTRIES BY CAR NUMBER
JAMIE MCMURRAY, NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS/TRACKER BOATS CAMARO ZL1:
“The All-Star Race is always a fun event, I think for the teams, families and fans. Being an all-or-nothing type of a race, it is amazing to be able to race for $1 million prize. This year’s race in particular will be interesting with the new rules package. I can’t really give any opinion one way or the other until we get on the race track around other cars to see what it will be like. I’m glad to have Bass Pro Shops onboard for the All-Star Race again, as we have had some fun with them for some big career wins including the 2014 All-Star Race”

AUSTIN DILLON, NO. 3 DOW CAMARO ZL1:
“Oh yeah, I’m looking forward to the All-Star race. I have never gotten to be in it and we fought hard in the Open for a couple of years, but that pressure is probably the biggest pressure of the year truthfully not being in it sometimes. So, now I’m locked in it for the next two years and I would like to lock myself in for life by winning it. So that is the plan when we go there. Charlotte is one of my best tracks. I definitely think we will be very competitive for the All-Star race.”

RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 31 CATERPILLAR/GRAINGER CAMARO ZL1:
“For me, winning the All-Star Race in 2002 was totally unexpected because we weren’t even in the race. We had to race our way in. I made the cut. We got the inversion on either the first or second segment when they were eliminating cars and then got the inversion again and I was able to stay up front. We stayed out on old tires, which was crazy for Charlotte. Somehow, we were able to hold them off. It was an amazing team victory for us and unexpected.”

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 CREDIT ONE BANK CAMARO ZL1:
“It nice to be in Charlotte for a couple weeks of racing, and always fun to be a part of the All-Star Race with a chance to win $1 million. We’ve had a pretty good runs in the race, with a decent shot at winning the last two years, so I’m hoping we can have another strong showing this year. I’m excited to get on track with the new package we’ll run and see how it feels and how it races. I’m sure we’ll have some work to do to get the car where we need it, but our team has been pretty good at adapting to changes, so hopefully our Credit One Bank Chevy will be fast.”

JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 LOWE’S FOR PROS CAMARO ZL1:
“The All-Star race is fun – high energy – and the pit crews are a big part of the show. There is a lot of money on the line to win and so there will be some chaos. This rules package should mix it up a bit – I don’t think any of us know what to expect. It’s going to be interesting.”

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 95 DUMONT JETS CAMARO ZL1:
“It was so awesome that the fans voted us into the All-Star race back in 2008. It really was special to get voted into the race, and then to have a great car to be able to drive our way to the front in order to make strategy calls that put us in position to win. Our paint scheme for this weekend looks so similar to that scheme we ran in 2008’s event, that it’s been cool to see it in the shop as the guys have been getting ready for this weekend. I’m looking forward to racing it this weekend, and hopefully the paint scheme can bring us the same result we had ten years ago. With us not having run this rules package, we go into this weekend not exactly sure how the cars are going to feel in general, how they’ll work around other cars, or what the speeds will be like. It’s tough to say how it will all work out, but we won’t be learning much from this weekend to carry over into the 600 like we may have in years past. Teams will try to go out and win the All-Star Race with this package, and then next weekend, we’ll go back to racing what we’ve been racing all season long.”

MONSTER ENERGY OPEN TEAM CHEVY ENTRIES BY CAR NUMBER:
CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 SUNENERGY1 CAMARO ZL1:
“I have enjoyed racing in the All-Star race the past couple of years. Very fortunate for the fan vote the past couple of seasons to get us into it. Very appreciative of that, but I would love to race my way in and not have to be up for a vote.”

TY DILLON, NO. 13 GEICO MILITARY CAMARO ZL1:
“When you head into the qualifying race knowing that there are only four available spots to transfer into the All-Star Race, the pressure is high to grab one of them. It’s going to be intense. The Open doesn’t pay in points, so you’re going to be aggressive to do all you can to get yourself into one of those positions to advance. You never know what is going to happen, especially with the new aero package that we will run. Anyone can win the race, and I know that our GEICO Military team is going to be working hard to win it.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 HERTZ CAMARO ZL1:
“I’m looking forward to the All-Star weekend. I can’t wait to race at Charlotte with all the excitement that comes around it. I really enjoy every track we go to in May. I think Charlotte will be different this time with restrictor plates and the aero package, but hopefully what I learned with that aero package last year at Indy (in Xfinity) will apply. I feel like maybe I’ll have a little bit of the upper hand just knowing what my car needs to do because I think a lot of guys may be up in the air on what to do with their cars (with the new package). Hopefully, that applies and we can get one of those spots in the All-Star Race. Then, it will be like playing with house money at that point. To get in the All-Star Race would be awesome.”

CHRIS BUESCHER, NO. 37 CLOROX CAMARO ZL1:
“I think we have to try this new aero package and see where it goes. I know the NXS were able to use it at Indy and I think as far as statistics go, there was a lot of movement in the field and green-flag passing, and I know that’s what NASCAR is after to try and create something different for the All-Star Race. It’s a good attempt to try something different and we’ll see how it works out.”

DARRELL ‘BUBBA’ WALLACE, JR., NO. 43 WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY CAMARO ZL1:
“We are obviously trying to race ourselves into the All-Star race this weekend. I hope we can do that. We have the stage winners and the winner of the Open who all advance. I’m hoping that we have a fast Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to make that happen. We’re working hard with Richard Childress Racing, Austin Dillon, Ryan Newman, and as a group, we’re trying to see where we can get better. This weekend, it’s different with the rules package, but looking ahead, I feel that we are all working hard to get better.
“If we can’t race in, maybe we can try and capture the fan vote. That would be cool. I really appreciate everyone who has voted and spent time voting for me already. We have World Wide Technology back on our car this weekend. They have really jumped in to help us out. I want to thank them, too.”

AJ ALLMENDINGER, NO. 47 KROGER CLICKLIST CAMARO ZL1:
“We’ve been to some 1.5-mile racetracks so far this season to have a good idea of where we are. The good news for us is we definitely saw some speed out of our No. 47 Kroger ClickList Camaro ZL1 and our teammate Chris (Buescher) had a lot of speed last weekend at Kansas Speedway. We know we’ve got something good going into Charlotte Motor Speedway. With the new aero package only being used for the Monster Energy Open and the All-Star Race, we won’t be able to test some things this weekend ahead of the Coca-Cola 600 as we used to in the past. But, we know we have speed from some of the other 1.5-mile racetracks we’ve run this season and we’ll put it to the test at our home track this weekend.”

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 88 AXALTA CAMARO ZL1:
“I want to go win before then to get in the All-Star race. Other than that, win or race your way in that is the way to do it for me. It would cool to be in it. Obviously, it would be really neat, we will just have to wait and see. The rules package NASCAR is planning to use for the All-Star race is definitely going to be interesting and something different. It’s cool that NASCAR is trying to constantly make the racing better. We will just have to wait and see.”
