INTERNATINAL TEAMS JOIN FORCES IN A BID FOR A DOUBLE WIN IN AMERICAN SINGLE SEATERS

Kiwi Motorsport and Crosslink Racing Form New F4 U.S. and F3 Americas Multicar Team

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 13, 2018) – In a strategic partnership packed with experience and ambition, Kiwi Motorsport and Crosslink Racing merged to become one in an effort to defeat all-comers in 2018. The top-two international Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda teams united in a bold attempt to win both the 2018 F4 U.S. Championship and the inaugural Formula 3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda.

Now located in Dallas, the newly-formed team’s race program will include running multiple cars in both the F4 U.S. Championship and F3 Americas Championship.

“Being a single car team, Crosslink Racing had no chance of winning the Team Championship,” said Crosslink Racing team principal Patrick Flynn. “Furthermore, not being a full-time racing organization, we needed to add more specialist personnel to our program. This has been done by joining forces with the ultra-competitive and experienced Kiwi Motorsport group. I am very excited at the possibilities for this year. We have tested some very good young drivers and expect our driver line up to be announced shortly. I would like to thank Kiwi Motorsport for believing in our small team and collectively I expect to add to our trophy cabinet this year.”

This Texas two-step was a natural fit for both teams.

“Patrick and I share the same values and dreams,” said Kiwi Motorsport co-owner Garry Orton. “We both showed up last year with a race car in a trailer and really showed we mean business.”

Between the two teams, Kiwi Motorsport and Crosslink Racing scored 32 top-10 finishes, including multiple race wins and 12 trips to the podium.

In both their rookie seasons as F4 U.S. teams, Kiwi Motorsport secured third in the SCCA Pro Racing Overall Driver Points and third overall in the F4 U.S. Team Championship with Crosslink Racing taking the Catherine Crawford Most Improved Driver Award.

“The pedigree of both teams speaks for itself,” Kiwi Motorsport co-owner Teena Larsen said. “I am thrilled to join Patrick and his team. He was the first person we met while at our local testing track and we became instant friends- must be the Kiwi and South African thing. We can pool our knowledge, equipment and staff together to be a force to be reckoned with.”

The combined team will have new equipment this year with the acquisition of a feather-lite transporter and awning to host an array of cars and hospitality.

Kiwi Motorsport and Crosslink Racing have been testing drivers in the off-season and ordered more cars ready to fill its roster.
