Dominic Scelzi Thrilled to Tackle Tasmania the Next Two Weekends With World Series Sprintcars

Inside Line Promotions – WARRNAMBOOL, Victoria, Australia (Jan. 29, 2018) – Dominic Scelzi is excited to venture to a new track in a new state this week.

Scelzi and the Wormall Motorsport team will tackle Gulf Western Independent Oils Raceway in Latrobe, Tasmania, Australia, with the World Series Sprintcars on Friday and Saturday.

“It’s always fun to be able to explore Australia and see different parts of the country,” he said. “This will certainly be a new challenge for us and one I’m looking forward to.”

Tasmania is Australia’s only island state and will host back-to-back weekends as the World Series Sprintcars will compete on Feb. 10 at Solo Hobart Speedway in New Norfolk following the doubleheader in Latrobe.

Scelzi has earned a trio of top-10 finishes during the last month in Australia. His best result of seventh place came twice and the goal for this weekend is to continue improvement.

“We’ve had some really good runs over here,” he said. “We want to get our first top five, our first podium, our first win. I’m so grateful for the opportunity Wormall Motorsport has given me and we’re working hard to earn our first victory together.”

Scelzi ranks 10th in overall points out of at least 100 competitors halfway through the 14-race World Series Sprintcars schedule. He is only 17 points behind seventh place in the standings entering this weekend’s action.
