Red Horse Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway… In 23 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Red Horse Racing has recorded three top-five and nine top-10 finishes. In 2016, Red Horse Racing picked up two top-ten finishes with Matt Tifft and Timothy Peters.

Red Horse Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History… Since entering NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition in 2005, RHR has 530 starts, earning 16 wins, 111 top-five finishes, 235 top-10 finishes and 14 pole awards.

The Road So Far in 2017… Through four of 16 races before the playoffs, Timothy Peters and the No. 17 team reside in the fifth position in NCWTS points, Brett Moffitt and the No. 7 team have climbed to the ninth spot.

Home Game … Like many other teams in the NASCAR garages, this week’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is a “home game” for RHR. Charlotte Motor Speedway is located less than 30 minutes from the team’s Mooresville, N.C. base and is the home track for many of the No. 7 and 17 crew members, including; No. 7 gas man Adam Crigger (Asheboro, N.C.), No. 7 hauler driver Mark Daniells (Cornelius, N.C.), No. 7 rear tire carrier Brandon Kasch (Mooresville, N.C.), No. 17 crew chief Chad Kendrick (Durham, N.C.), No. 17 mechanic Chris Smith (Trinity, N.C.), and No. 17 spotter Chris Lambert (Kannapolis, N.C.).

Catch the Action… FS1’s live coverage of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 begins Friday, May 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The race will also be broadcast on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. Qualifying for the 134-lap event will air live Friday, May 19 at 4:30 p.m. ET on FS1. Two practice sessions scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 17 will not be televised.

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Charlotte Motor Speedway…
For the second time this season, Timothy Peters will climb aboard chassis No. 026. Peters drove to a ninth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway in this Toyota Tundra on March 4. Chassis 026 showed great strength through the course of that event, scoring seven stage points and had an average running position of eighth. This Tundra is new to the RHR fleet in 2017.

Trending in the Right Direction… Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will mark Peters’ 12th start at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he has strung together strong finishes in recent years. Peters has collected one top-five and three finishes of seventh or better in the last three races at CMS. Since 2012, the driver of the No. 17 Toyota Tundra has posted four top-10’s in the last five contests. Peters sat on the pole and led 30 laps in 2011. In last year’s matinee at CMS, he paced the field for 11 laps enroute to a seventh-place finish. Peters’ upward trajectory at CMS points to the No. 17 team contending for their first victory of the season on Friday night.

Peters’ Mile and a Half Performance… Since the beginning of the 2016 season, Peters has been a virtual “sure thing” to run in the top-10 on 1.5-mile speedways. In the last 11 races contested on 1.5-milers, Peters has finished ninth or better nine times. The Danville, Virginia native added to that total this season with a ninth-place finish at Atlanta in March.

Season-to-Date… Peters is on the hunt for his first top-five finish of the year, but his consistent performances have yielded a top-five points position through four races. Peters has the fifth-highest average running position (9.12) and has spent 87.9% of the laps in the top-15, fourth-best among full-time drivers. His best finish of the season came at Martinsville Speedway, where he finished eighth. In four races, Peters has captured two top-10 finishes and accumulated 33 stage points in three races.

Race Rewind: Kansas… A 13th-place finish in last week’s Toyota Tundra 250 at the Kansas Speedway kept Peters in the top-five in the NCWTS driver championship standings. After four of 16 races, Peters holds the sixth position on the playoff grid, 27 points ahead of the cutoff.

“Charlotte has been a good place for us the last several years. We had a great run last year, led some laps, and got bit a little by fuel mileage at the end. I’m looking forward to Friday. These new Toyota Tundras we have this season have been real fast. This is the same truck we ran at Atlanta where we finished top-10. We had a top-five run going there and came back from a pit road issue late in the race. Chad (Kendrick, crew chief) and the whole team have gone to work since the test to make our truck even better, so I can’t wait to get into the race on Friday and try and get ourselves a win and some playoff points.”

This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Charlotte Motor Speedway… Brett Moffitt will pilot chassis number 027 in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250. This chassis was first used at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this year where Moffitt finished 11th.

Moffitt at Charlotte… This will be Brett Moffitt’s first NCWTS start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He has three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at the 1.5-mile facility.

Red Horse Racing and Brett Moffitt… In ten starts for Red Horse Racing, Moffitt has posted six top-10 finishes, with three top-fives and one win.

Race Rewind: Moffitt at Kansas… Brett Moffitt and the No. 7 Red Horse Racing team earned their second top-ten finish in as many races at Kansas Speedway in the Toyota Tundra 250. Moffitt transferred to the final qualifying round to put the No. 7 Toyota Tundra in the seventh starting position. The green flag flew just before 8 p.m. CT and as the sun set and temperatures cooled, Moffitt began to report that his Tundra was loose handling in the turns. Moffitt ended the first stage at lap 40 in the 10th position, earning one stage point. The No. 7 team elected to stay out during the stage break and began Stage 2 on the front row, in second position. Still fighting a free handling condition, Moffitt finished the second stage in eighth position, earning three stage points. A quick stop by the No. 7 team put him out in seventh position to start the final 87-lap stage. Moffitt earned his second top-ten finish in four races in 2017, with a seventh-place in the No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra.
