Austin Dillon Hungry for More Following 18th-Place Finish in the Dow World Water Day Chevrolet

“Today was a long, hot, day in the desert. Slugger Labbe and the team worked hard to tighten up the chassis of our Dow World Water Day Chevrolet throughout the race. We had a really good rhythm going and lap times to prove it, we just didn’t get there at the end. The pit crew produced fast stops the entire race. I’m really proud of them. I’m really happy for Richard Childress Racing. Congrats to Ryan Newman and the entire No. 31 team on their win today. It makes me and our entire organization hungry for more.”

Motivated by the FVP/Menards Team, Paul Menard Finishes 21st at Phoenix Raceway

“Today was a big day for RCR. Everyone has worked so hard and to see my teammate in Victory Lane was a good finish to the day. Our FVP Chevy had decent balance during the race, we just lacked in other areas. The pit crew had a solid day on pit road making the adjustments we needed to quickly get us back on track. I just can’t say enough about the stubbornness of this team. They never give up and push me to do the same.”

Ryan Newman and the Grainger Team Break RCR’s 112-Race Winless Streak With Gutsy Pit Strategy

“What a gutsy call by my crew chief Luke Lambert. I called for two tires and he called for none. I’ve won more races with no tires than I have with four. I’m just proud of these guys. We had a good car all day. We kept it out of trouble and collected in the end. I went into Turn 3 looking at my mirror. I knew Kyle Larson was down there, but it took my car forever to get going. I’m spent. I had the chills on lap 150. I’m done. This victory is just sweet for so many reasons. I’ve lost count of how many races it’s been since the last time I’ve won-that’s how long it’s been. I’ve got to thank RCR and ECR, as well as our partners on the 31 including Grainger, Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, and everyone else.”
