Chevrolet Drivers Make Strides Against Breast Cancer
Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne treat breast cancer survivors to Chevy SS pace car rides

TALLADEGA, Ala. (Oct. 22, 2016) – This morning at Talladega Superspeedway, Team Chevy drivers Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray and Kasey Kahne participated in Chevrolet’s annual event in partnership with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The drivers took a group of breast cancer survivors and their guests on pace car rides in pink and white Chevrolet SS pace cars.

During the Hellmann’s 500 on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, Chevrolet will donate $350 per caution lap (up to $50,000) that the Chevrolet SS pace car leads during the 188-lap event.

Below are the drivers thoughts on participating in the event:

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 4 JIMMY JOHN’S CHEVROLET SS:
HIS EXPERIENCE GIVING PACE CAR RIDES TO THE BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS:
“It was a great experience. It’s always fun to give people an experience of driving around the race track in person. I don’t think a lot of people can put it really in perspective the banking, especially at this particular race track… the size, how wide and how big the whole race track is. It’s always fun. I only had a few people squeal; everybody else seemed to have a good time.”

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 5 UNIFIRST CHEVROLET SS:
ON HIS EXPERIENCE DURING PACE CAR RIDES:
“We had a good time. I think we took four or five groups. We really enjoyed it. A couple of groups were screaming and a couple were just sitting back having fun. It was a blast. This track is such a big track, but the banking in the corners bottom to top was enjoyable. I think they loved it.”

JAMIE MCMURRAY, NO. 1 MCDONALD’S CHEVROLET SS:
ON GIVING PACE CAR RIDES TO THE GROUP OF BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS AND THEIR GUESTS:
“It was fun. I haven’t really got to do pace car rides at Talladega. I’ve done them at Martinsville and we have done the drifting event obviously for Cessna, but it was fun. It’s crazy to see how tense they get when they leave pit road. It was a good time.”
