TEAM SUMMIT RACING GOING FOR WIN 16 IN READING

Reading, PA (September 29, 2016) – Only four races stand between Team Summit Racing and the 2016 NHRA Pro Stock Championship. This weekend the team races the Dodge NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Jason Line is still the points leader in Pro Stock with teammate Greg Anderson close behind in second. Besides winning rounds, drivers need to qualify as high as possible to gain bonus points and increase their lead.

Racing conditions are expected to be much different than the past several races. After weeks of heat and humidity, the forecast is calling for much cooler conditions in Pennsylvania.

“We expect cooler weather there, so the cars are probably going to be the fastest they’ve been all year,” Anderson said. “It’s going to be very different driving conditions than we’ve experienced in months. With 70 degrees for a high, the cars will be faster. Everyone has to bring their A game.”

Anderson and Line have both won twice in Reading. Anderson made it to the final round at this event last year while setting the Pro Stock speed record at 214.59 MPH.

Nitro Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson is fresh off reaching to the semifinals in St. Louis this past weekend, and wants to keep the winning momentum going.

“The car is running better than it has in awhile and hopefully we can carry the momentum from St. Louis to Reading and do even better there,” Wilkerson said. “We’re taking it one round at a time. We’re happy with the success we’ve had the last few weekends and we want to win.”

Wilkerson is ninth in points, but only 10 points separate him from the driver in seventh place.
