Race Rewind: New Hampshire… Timothy Peters earned a top-five finish in the first race of the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship. After taking the green flag from the front row, Peters battled a tight handling condition in traffic on his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Tundra. On his first pit stop on lap 53, the No. 17 team gave him four fresh Goodyear tires and a tank full of Sunoco fuel, and Peters would restart in the ninth position. Peters was able to remain in the top-10 and soon would climb back into the top five following a two-tire stop under caution on lap 105. Even though crew chief Shane Huffman continued to make adjustments, Peters battled a tight condition throughout the afternoon, but the veteran driver was able to capitalize on an outside restart position in several late race caution periods to gain track position and finish fifth.

Race Rewind: New Hampshire Motor Speedway… The opening round of the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase format began with an eighth-place finish for Brett Moffitt and the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team. Moffitt held his ground inside the top 10 on the first race run, amidst three cautions and subsequent restarts, and came to pit road under a lap 53 yellow. Under that caution, crew chief Scott Zipadelli made a track bar adjustment to aid his driver’s tight condition on corner exit to compliment two tires and fuel. While running 11th at the end of the race’s longest green flag run on lap 104, Moffitt came to pit road under yellow for four tires and more chassis changes to aid his balance. As the race’s final restart came on lap 137, Moffitt used the outside lane to complete a three-wide pass to take the eighth position, where he would run until the checkered flag. The finish has the No. 11 team fifth on the Chase Grid in the Owners’ Championship standings, three points ahead of the cutoff.

Matt Tifft Quote:
On racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway…
“I can’t wait to get to Las Vegas. We had a really good run at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier in the year, so I feel like we can duplicate some of that success this weekend. Scott (Zipadelli) and the guys have had great runs on mile-and-a-half tracks this year with the No. 11 Tundra, so I’m confident in what we can do this weekend.”
