TEAM SUMMIT RACING READY TO WIN AT HOME TRACK

Mooresville, NC (August 16, 2016)—Team Summit Racing heads to the home state of Pro Stock drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line for the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota. Jason Line is a native of Wright, Minnesota and Anderson is from Duluth.

“I love being with everyone in Brainerd. It’s fun to be out here racing with all my family,” Line said. “I try to come back to BIR every chance I get. There is no place like home!”

While Line has a Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals win under his belt, he didn’t win it in Brainerd.

“I have never actually won an NHRA National event at BIR. In 2014 when I did win, a rain delay forced us to run the final round in Indy,” Line explained. “I really want to win at Brainerd with my family and friends in the stands watching me.”

In addition to his Summit Racing Pro Stock Chevrolet Camaro, Line will also compete in the Stock Eliminator class with his C/SA 1970 Buick GS. Last weekend, Line raced the Division 5 event where he was defeated in Round Four by his niece, Hannah Line in her 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.

“Hannah whupped my butt,” Line said. “Nobody on the property was going to beat her with the .006 and .001 second lights she was cutting.”

Greg Anderson has won in Brainerd three times and was runner-up twice. Anderson knew at an early age he would make racing his career, and made sure everyone in Duluth knew it.

“When I decided I was going to race for a living, everyone thought I was nuts,” Anderson said. “It was a bold statement to make, but I have no regrets. I’m proud to come back home and show them what I have become.”

“It’s cool to be back in Brainerd and see all my family, friends, and buddies from school. This race is the only time that I get to see everyone,” Anderson said. “It’s the best feeling when you come through with a win in front of them.”

Nitro Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson comes to Brainerd with a familiar logo on his car. For the third year in a row, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Circle K Dealers will be an associate sponsor.

“I look forward to coming to Brainerd and welcoming our Circle K friends from the Twin Cities,” Wilkerson said. “I appreciate their support of our Funny Car and coming out to the track to cheer us on.”
