Ross Hoek Motorsports: TORC Bark River Report

Holland, Mich. (August 9, 2016) – Ross Hoek continues to perform well as the TORC Series presented by AMSOIL heads into homestretch of the 2016 season. After committing to run the entire season in his Greaves-built PRO-4×4, the Michigan native impresses the competition with his privately funded team. The TORC “Showdown in the UP” event saw the Auto Trans Design #21 PRO-4×4 challenge the top drivers in the class.

Bark River International Off-Road Raceway had perfect weather for a short-course off-road event. The temperatures were in the 70s and for a change, hardly a cloud in the sky all weekend long.

Saturday’s Round Nine had the ATD PRO-4×4 lined up on the front row. Early on the silver truck battled with the best in the business, but once again neither Hoek nor anyone else in the PRO-4×4 field had an answer for the Greaves’ trucks. After ten laps, Ross Hoek finished in fourth place.

Overnight the team went to work looking to gain some more speed. A decision was made to make suspension and other changes to try to work with the increasingly slick track.

Sunday’s Round Ten saw Ross start on the pole once again but the slick track and an early race mistake cost him a front running position. After the halfway point Ross once again raced with the leaders taking the checkered flag in a hard fought sixth place.

“With only two stops left on the TORC season our team has never performed so well in Pro-4×4,” remarked Ross Hoek. “Instead of just replacing broken or damaged parts between rounds on a race weekend, the team is working with making adjustments to create a faster, better handling race truck. This is a major step for Ross Hoek Motorsports. I believe we still have a couple of podiums finishes ahead of us this year and we’re prepared to be contenders in future seasons of TORC Pro-4 racing!”

The next race for Ross Hoek Motorsports is the “Showdown in Charlotte” August 19-20 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
